@@noahknight4039Lets be real, if someone has never even ridden a small dirtbike, then a 750 katana, let alone a gsx-r, is a very bad choice. Potentially deadly.
@@Full_Otto_BismarckIt's all up to the rider and their risk management. I have a ninja 400 and it's my first motorcycle and I've been careful and take my time to learn the basics these past few months. I'm not trying to yeet myself into a corner.
My first bike was a late model Suzuki Katana 750, the bike shown in the thumbnail and briefly at 3:40. I'd say it's a decent beginner bike if you have to commute on the highway. The only real drawback for a beginner is it's a bit heavy and has fairings, so when you drop it you'll have to deal with the plastic damage somehow. I recommend mixing acetone and ABS plastic to patch and reinforce any cracks. It's comfy and simple. Removing the panels to do service isn't too bad because it doesn't need much service! The parts come off quick and easy from there if you have to get deeper into the bike. The first time I had to do it was a bit intimidating but after working on other bikes, this one stands out as a nice simple machine. For all it's great traits, I don't think the GSXF would have made the guy any less of a psycho than the GSXR. This model was nicknamed the Kan o Tuna and people have made fun of it and it's riders since this model came out. It's not as quick as the GSXR, lower performance suspension, and it's curvy bodywork is 'ugly'. The original Katana it descended from was a groundbreaking machine and more powerful than the later ones, which made people look at the late variant as kind of a dumb bike, evolving in reverse. Compared to the guys at the shop poking fun at him for not handling the GSXR, he would have caught a lot more shit for riding the Kan o Tuna. I love mine, still have it, still run it, and I'll never sell it. It's great around town, nimble at speed, and stable on the highway. And while it won't pull your arms out of their sockets it is quicker than 95% of the cars out there so it's plenty fun and easy to put yourself where you want to be in the traffic stream. I don't mind when other riders poke fun, it's just banter. The derision does help keep the price down lol.
@RobertHall-ef8yf Its more about if you can control yourself i feel. Also dirt experience means a lot. If you have it hell yea. If not tread with caution.

Somethinh similar happened at the bike shop i worked at in high school. Dude came in all cocky and wanted a GSXR or a Ninja i cant remember which. But he had never ridden a bike before! We all tried to tell him how bad of an idea that was. To start out with something smaller, lighter, with less power to learn on. We would take it back in trade at the highest value we could give him AFTER he learned to ride and got confortable. HELL NO! he was a "MAN" and wanted a fast bike. So......we sold him one. I tried to teach him how to ride it in the parking lot. Wouldnt listen to me. I was a punk kid. His girlfriend trying to talk sense into him the whole time. So, he dropped it 3 times trying to learn in the lot. Finally took off uo the road girlfriend following in her car. 15 minutes later... Girlfriend conrs flying back, crying saying he crashed. I jumped in with her and she took me to where he was. He had gone thru an intersection with some loose sand and gravel. It slid out from under him and laid down. He was sitting there looking like a kid whos ice cream cone fell on the ground LOL. He said "TAKE THIS PIECE OF $#!@ BACK TO YOUR SHOP GUY". He had thrown the helmet out into the woods like a toddler. I rode it back and put it in the shop. Lol. Some people's egos are just out of control
I worked at a bike dealer/shop...definitely saw folks wreck or at least drop bikes in the lot. The best was when they'd buy an expensive Arai helmet, walk out with it in hand, drop it on asphalt, then get mad we wouldn't accept the return. That was far more common than dropping bikes but some wild egos in there...
Im guessing he insisted on buying that gsxr750, and later tried saying there was something wrong with it to get his money back. I just cant see a respectable powersports shop recommending that bike for a begginer and then mocking a customer over it.
The one witness literally discussed this in the beginning of the video. The shop owner recommended the bike, the witness thought to himself well the owner must know the bikes. Same guy found the bodies.
Ok I bought a 2018 gsxr750, first Nike, 49, woman, California, I has only been on a motorcycle with my brother, he taught me when I was 19, so I went to the Harley dealership to buy a cruiser, well…. I liked the red wheels 😳, it was used, I really didn’t know what I was buying, the guy selling me the bike told me, not a beginner bike, I called my brother, he told me, you’re going to die, so I slept on it, looked at other bikes, I went back, and bought it, dropped it a couple times, braking too fast, I had two cars, it was in the garage, then I forced myself to learn, through the hills in Carlsbad at four in the morning, less traffic, drove to work, now I drive and love it, I’m 51, still a woman i think, I have no ego, it is the best middle age buy, oh, I worked and survived covid in the iCU as an RN, it is a reminder that I am alive, I’m more careful lane splitting,
This chick is tied up against the wall of a storage container and one the cops rescuing her tells her just to hang tight? Really?!?She is tied up, where do they think she is gonna go?
Wow, insane story. My first street legal bike? 1994 Kawasaki Ninja ZX11. Bike only 2 months old and sold to me for $50 dollars with the stipulation that I sell it back to my friend for the same price and it be serviced at the dealership it came from. Had it for 18 wonderful months with 16K additional miles. It was sold to me due to a friends divorce and he did not want the ex to get it. 🙂
Holy shit! I watched a video months ago about how this guy. The video only covered the kidnappings, forced imprisonment of his victims and the murder of some of his clients but said nothing about the murders that occurred at this bike shop. Wow
It's wild to me two of the most infamous crimes in that area were the same guy. I knew Kayla and Charlie from her work. And being in the cycle community here in the upstate I have heard about that mass shooting for years...
The really scary thing is how many people like this guy there are. A friend of mine has friend who's a sociopath just like this guy. My buddy don't believe it, but I see the guy for what he is. I mean don't think he ever done anybody in, yet. Still he gives me the chills. When I first heard about the girl in the shipping container I told my friend there's gonna be a news story like this about your buddy someday.
I'd always recommend to start small and in the dirt for beginners, if possible. With a little trail riding, you can make the bikes controls second nature and that can save your life on the road. I had a friend/coworker who's first bike was a Yam 600 crotch rocket with no prior riding experience. Three month's later he died on it. Very sorry for all the victims in this story.
