I like to mix up Cobalt Blue deep with Magenta red to obtain purple and violet shads.

Old Holland, would you do a video explaining your different lines of oil. I can't find any information on your site or any brochures about why they are different and what the differences are.
There is the regular list of colors, then there is the Old Holland colors and then there is the Scheveningen colors. They seem to have a lot of colors that overlap with each other.
One thing I do know is that Lakes are transparent and Extras are modern replacements for traditional pigments.
Thanks much, you make great paints.

My monitor must be pantone deviant because your purple looked a lot like blue.

Please could you list all of the “single pigment” split primary colors in Old Holland paints.

Dear C.E. Schlink, thank you for your question.
Old Holland has many single pigments that could be used as split primaries.
It would be too long of a list to mention them all, but here a few of the most popular ones.
Blues: Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt Blue, Cerulean Blue, Scheveningen Blue.
Reds: Cadmium Red Scarlet, Cadmium Red Light, Old Holland Bright Red, Cadmium Red Deep, Scheveningen Rose Deep,
Yellows: Cadmium Yellow Lemon, Cadmium Yellow medium, Scheveningen Yellow deep, Scheveningen Yellow Light.
Stay tuned, for we will release more video's on split primaries soon.
      All the Best,
      The Old Holland Team

I love how Dutch people pronounce "opaque" (0:46).

Is Old Holland Cadmium Red has a stable tinting with Lead White?

    • @LennaertKoorman
      @LennaertKoorman 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@danielfernandeznungaray8996 Yes! Old Holland Cadmium Red has very high tinting strength. The less opaque lead white will preserve the great tinting power of cadmium much better than, say, titanium white, which causes colours to fade much faster. Hope that helps
