I saw Alien with my dad at home back in the 80s. I was way too young to see it. By far the scariest movie for me. Exorcist is a close second. American Werewolf in London horrified me too. They don't make scary movies like they used to. I could make one really damn scary. Maybe a dogman (werewolf) versus a sasquatch. That could be a killer script. Maybe the dogman is hungry and kills a hiker. Then develops a taste for humans and sasquatch steps in to stop it. There is an unwritten code to not kill humans. The problem is that neither creature can talk. But maybe that would make it even better. We need something different in helly wood. I'm sick of the demonic crap. Its not scary its just demonic.

Absolutely one of the best interviews I've seen in a while (I know he can't say too much). My favorite movie is 1979 alien and of course I love aliens as well. I know we are in good hands with Fede and all my anxieties about the alien franchise are finally diminished now with the trailer and this interview. This is my number one looked forward to project coming out between movies and games and that is saying a lot! I hope that Fede hits a home run here and maybe it won't be the last Alien film we see from him!
Unlike Prometheus and Covenant, this trailer actually got me excited. It reminds me of the original Alien and the Isolation game, which is a very good thing. It's what we want: a callback to the retrofuturistic horror of Alien and Isolation.
Absolutely. I just watched Prometheus again to see if I’d like it any better now, and it’s just the same incoherent mess I remembered. But yeah the hyper glossy and polished view of technology was just so far away from the “used future” feel of Alien and Aliens.
It’s got the Alien aesthetic down perfectly, the moving down corridors has massive Alien Nostromo vibes. The “Alien sound” is present in the trailer too. If Fede can bridge the style of the first 2 films successfully, then he’s got a hit on his hands. Sounds like he’s done his homework, building full sets, & using practical FX
But how can it take place between alien and aliens ? The Nostromo is gone ? So do they go to LV426? I’m confused as to “how” they find Aliens, unless they find another ship that landed on LV426 and they board it?
From what I’ve read the black goo (or accelerant as it is known in the expanded universe) is making a return in the film. An android was able to discover and reverse engineer the genetic makeup of the black goo contained within the DNA of the Aliens that had been captive aboard the spacestation. I just went and saw the original original alien in theaters for its 45th anniversary last night and it was one of the greatest movie going experiences of my life. Seeing it up on the big screen was completely different than seeing it at home. The best part of it was, the sound design and mix. I discovered something that I have never noticed in viewing that movie dozens if not, hundreds of times throughout my life. The ticking noise, almost like a clock ticking, that the iconic drinking bird toy makes is peppered all throughout the film. I never noticed this until I saw it in the theater. It was a really great experience and I am super excited for alien Romulus.

This director alvarez is a good director . Dont breath is a really good thriller so i hope this director has managed to bring the great and tense atmosphere of the original alien movies. The teaser trailer looks really good
The teaser was nostalgic, I can’t wait to see what this guy came up with. I love it when a director takes the time to engage like this, he’s so happy with what they created but doesn’t isolate himself from all of us fans.
It makes me feel so good to listen a director talking about the project he's into instead of his personal activism or his sexual issues. The teaser is great, the director is great and he knows the saga, didn't tell bs to sell it, debrief with the right poeple, he knows where to go with this franchise, thank god!
I like how you only see the alien for a brief second in the trailer - the horror is what your mind creates. The original Alien was so successful because the xenomorph was on screen so little, and you only saw it briefly, exactly as you would if it was coming to get you. I really hope this film captures that, and doesn't show the alien too much. It also looks like the scenes, tech, weapons have continuity with where it should be in the order of films - if it's set between 1 and 2, it needs to have the same aesthetic.
To The Guys @ The Movie Podcast, First off I would like to thank you both for your-self control with the questions and interview techniques with Fede ❤ I have seen many interviews on TH-cam by other podcasters and the interviewee looks like they just want to get the hell outta dodge 😂 respect to you both for you calmness and respect to Fede xxx Also I would like to thank Fede for his Hounesty with the questions you posed to him, and after seeing the teaser trailer, the first 15 to 45 seconds when you here that hi pitched scream of being attackd /or possible death reminded me of Lambert in Ridley Scott's Alien.... I was hooked and sold and I can't wait for this, I love the fact that Fede has used Practical sets/props etc everywhere he can and is using CG as minimaly as he can xxx love and respect to him as a story teller xxx And also to you all @ The Movie Podcast xxx Keep Doing What You ALL do so well xxx
Getting my hopes up for this now. The teaser really looks promising and hearing Fede talking about it also instills confidence, but boy oh boy will I try to keep my hopes down until I get to see it!
Excellent interview that gave me so much insight into his sensibilities and approach to movie, and my beloved Alien franchise that has been mistreated in recent projects (IMHO). I have renewed hope for a quality experience.
You can just hear the passion in this guy's voice as he talks about this movie. It really feels like he's a huge fan of this franchise and will give it all the respect it deserves.
Great job job guys...Love the channel. Nice to see the director's overview of a favorite project. A'lvarez appears bright, insightful and driven. The trailer is Stellar...just enough to hook the audience...without giving anything away. Too many trailers are heavy handed and over exposed....this one is just right. Also nice to see the nostalgia element...we want the horror aspect of the film. The past few movies were just too...complicated. We fans...want a more linear approach I guess. This is very promising.....Again, Great job!
one of the things i loved about the score of the alien movie jump scares, they were always a split second after the jump. like the music was an audience reaction sound and not the movie music on the jump moment. facehugger comes, then sound on ripleys reaction. and music would cut as the alien reached out. very clever
Was good to see those silver teeth again , and the detail of the gums looked great Although the Remus Romulus bit he shared leads me to believe we will see a xeno fight 2 different variants from the same momma wolf DNA I’ve heard some leaks ( that I will not share ) but maybe Momma Wolf will be familiar
Correct, I grew up with just seeing a very short trailer, the problem with modern films , they show too much because they think the viewer has a short attention span so they make them longer. Little is plenty!
perfect words from the director, i was worried before but i loved everything he said, this thing about not showing much untill the movie releases is so important, so happy he understand that
what a great interview and timing also! Never seen this director but I already like him, seems very intelligent. Awesome that he showed draft and consulted with Cameron and Scott!
Based on the one shot we saw, the CGI looks very well implemented and I've always been of the mindset that the BLEND of cg and practical is what makes a movie truly feel immersive and be able to hold up. Look at jurassic Park. Still looks incredible 35 yrs later
@@system0fadowner251 yeah agree. It’s like with Dune…that’s a real desert they shot in which is why it looks so good. As long as CGI is used to augment what can’t be achieved practically it’s works really well.

To The Guys @ The Movie Podcast, First off I would like to thank you both for your-self control with the questions and interview techniques with Fede ❤ I have seen many interviews on TH-cam by other podcasters and the interviewee looks like they just want to get the hell outta dodge 😂
respect to you both for you calmness and respect to Fede xxx
Also I would like to thank Fede for his Hounesty with the questions you posed to him,
and after seeing the teaser trailer, the first 15 to 45 seconds when you here that hi pitched scream of being attackd /or possible death reminded me of Lambert in Ridley Scott's Alien.... I was hooked and sold and I can't wait for this, I love the fact that Fede has used Practical sets/props etc everywhere he can and is using CG as minimaly as he can xxx love and respect to him as a story teller xxx
And also to you all
@ The Movie Podcast xxx Keep Doing What You ALL do so well xxx
Getting my hopes up for this now. The teaser really looks promising and hearing Fede talking about it also instills confidence, but boy oh boy will I try to keep my hopes down until I get to see it!
Excellent interview that gave me so much insight into his sensibilities and approach to movie, and my beloved Alien franchise that has been mistreated in recent projects (IMHO). I have renewed hope for a quality experience.
You can just hear the passion in this guy's voice as he talks about this movie. It really feels like he's a huge fan of this franchise and will give it all the respect it deserves.
I can tell from the trailer that this is going to be an amazing film. I'm so hyped and excited for the cast and crew!
dude this trailer gave me Alien: Isolation vibes.. spine chills!!!
Could the big moment be... Amanda Ripley shows up, Alien Isolation is there between Alien 1 and 2 🥳
...Don't... Don't give me hope 😢... lol but that would be amazing
I watched the first movie when i was 13 in theatres. As I was walking out of the cinema my legs were still shaking with fear lol
The trailer looks PHENOMENAL. He’s did INCREDIBLY WELL with his take on Evil dead, I have SUCH GREAT EXPECTATIONS ❤
Can I have like 3hrs direcrors cut?
I wish but the casuals say it’s too much nope I want the entire vision
im so keen, looks so good🔥
One of my favorite directors ever
AMAZING interview guys. And what an amazing person Fede Alvararez is. Romulus is my most anticipated movie this summer. 🍿🤩
one of the things i loved about the score of the alien movie jump scares, they were always a split second after the jump. like the music was an audience reaction sound and not the movie music on the jump moment. facehugger comes, then sound on ripleys reaction. and music would cut as the alien reached out. very clever
This was amazing. Thank you for doing this interview on video.
"I've seen things..." You can absolutely tell this guy is a fanboy of sci-fi films. I'm excited for this.
Thanks for the great interview, Fede is very cool and I love his excitement for filmmaking!
Let him make true Terminator movie like first movie
Was good to see those silver teeth again , and the detail of the gums looked great
Although the Remus Romulus bit he shared leads me to believe we will see a xeno fight 2 different variants from the same momma wolf DNA
I’ve heard some leaks ( that I will not share ) but maybe Momma Wolf will be familiar
I both do and not want you to share...
@@BulletSponge178 when I say Momma wolf I’m NOT talking about a queen but a “Big something “
Please don't spoil this film with any further trailers. Leave it at this, very excited.
Nah we want more
@@itsnick5082Then it did its job. The point is to make you want to watch the main product.
Correct, I grew up with just seeing a very short trailer, the problem with modern films , they show too much because they think the viewer has a short attention span so they make them longer. Little is plenty!
I will avoid all trailers from now on. The teaser is all I needed and I want to experience the film as fresh as possible.
Love Fede and his work. So excited for this
What a fun interview!!
I’d be tripping over my tongue what to ask!!
Trailer does look good. We may have a great alien movie here
waiting for alien movies for a long time
Awesome interview. Can’t wait !!!
this guy is perfect candidate to make this movie
perfect words from the director, i was worried before but i loved everything he said, this thing about not showing much untill the movie releases is so important, so happy he understand that
what a great interview and timing also! Never seen this director but I already like him, seems very intelligent. Awesome that he showed draft and consulted with Cameron and Scott!
I was worried about the cgi face huggers but it seems he really wants to keep the fx practical.
What a great interview and Fede comes across as a totally cool guy - really awesome podcast!
Looking forward to watch the movie
Very talented filmmaker. I'm looking forward to his take on the Alien movies!
Maaan, Im so excited for this. Aliens is my all time favorite film ever and this has me very excited
Very excited, and love listening to his enthusiasm. This is sounding very much like an adaption of Alien Isolation - Ripley's daughter stuck on a space station trying to find her mother after the events of Alien.
It’s like Alien: Isolation on steroids, I cannot wait
😂
my 2 cents: as a lifelong Alien fan, this teaser really did impress me, as a careful skeptic. it feels like Fede is really updating the visuals and the action, whilst keeping it very loyal to the vibe of what us OG fans came to love.
Yes!!! he nailed it. “It’s what you don’t see!” Thank you sir.
The interview made me more stoked for the movie ! 😅
I've watched the teaser like five times already.
very cool very cool now let's hear from our sponsor Nerd Crate
