I have been following Janus since the 250 was released. I had never seen one in person until last month in Birmingham. I was immediately drawn to the 250❤. It was from b to just sit on it! When I got home I started watching all the videos. I mean every one on TH-cam. It is easy to get carried away by the bigger engine and rear suspension plus the passenger carrying capacity of the 450. And that feather logo is downright beautiful. Then I realized that would make it too similar to my Royal Enfield. I already have my BMW and Honda touring bikes so I don’t need any extra horsepower or weight. I just need to sell the Harley and get back to the order page for the 250.
This is such an awesome motorcycle. I am now set on getting one. The warranty is outstanding, the way you encourage people to repair the bikes themselves, parts being easily avaliable, customization options you offer, the beautiful retro design, the kickstart on the 250, the carborated engine with the oil port and gas reserve... It's all just super freaken awesome. Yeah, it's not a fast bike. Yeah, it's expensive. Yeah, it's got no rear suspension. But you know what it does have? Class that few other bikes have nowadays, and just a pure reliability that comes with simple mechanical systems. It's awesome! I hope I'm able to learn how to maintain the whole thing myself and perhaps even install a few performance mods once the warranty expires. That and I'm also hoping I can work with Janus to get a custom shock gel liner added into the leather seat to save my spine from some shock (Roads around here can be quite hit or miss).
Thanks Richard, great systems review of the 250. I hope you can find time to do a similar video on the 450. I am planning to be in Goshen at the end of May to see them in person.
I really appreciate you guys making all these videos. I’ve been stalking your channel for days in anticipation of picking up a bike sometime next year🤞 It would be my first ever bike so resources like this are really helpful
OK Barney, here's just some fodder for you to ponder. I am a brand new to riding. My first Motorcycle is a Gryffin. This piece of machinery is almost too gorgeous for a brand new rider like myself. I would recommend getting an old Honda shadow 250 or Yamaha Star 250 to get super comfortable riding before treating yourself to something like this. Just some food for thought. Whatever you chose. Good luck to you. 👍
I run the 87 during the summer most of the time. But during the summer I run the 91 occasionally. But I store all my carbed bikes I store them with 91 and no additives
This is exactly the bike I want. Simple throwback to an earlier time.

I like the 250 but i would consider buying one if it wasn’t a carburetor. Too much maintenance. But really cool little bike
These bikes are so great!
Do all ur bikes have tube tires? And if so why?
Awesome video!
How do ur bikes run in cold weather like 36 degrees Fahrenheit?
Can i get a 50cc model with pedal start?
Cool
Does it come in a 350- or 400cc variation?
Would this be a good first bike for someone?
Yes! The lightweight design and engine are well suited to new riders
@@janusmotorcycles if only it was cheaper, for an 18 year old.
Definitely going to be my first bike once I can afford it, I love its simplicity and the 1920s style feel it has
How many keys come with the bike? 2? probably?
Yes, two keys come with each motorcycle.
@@janusmotorcycles I figured. Thank you. Can't wait.
What are the current build times for a Gryffin 250?
6-8 weeks!
