Make sure you look at the inside of the connecting rod where the wrist pin goes and the holes on the piston as well might be just as scored as the wrist pin
Don’t understand how a rust pin sliding back and forth in the connecting rod is the cause of the noise the slide back and forth the piston in the cylinder keeps it from doing that and light scoring on the wrist pin in normal on Honda’s I’ve found

Right one of my cousins has a 83 or 84 200m in the garage and he can go out today and first or second pull starts right up if the bikes isn’t made for going through water 3 and 4 feet deep go get a Argo or boat
My 2011 sportsman 400 with around 8000 miles was sunk and is still going strong sort of. Needs a few things like the front axles are literally falling out but that’s no worries right?
@@misteranonymous5486 nope my bike has been through the war have owned it for about 5 years now. I change the bearings and bushing when they need to be and do the odd oil change. I wish o could show u a picture of it. I was ran into a while back and the sub frame/back rack is bent in and plastics are junked. Front rack is broken so I took it off. It’s got a kenworth emblem on the front of it and the axles are almost fully stripped. Prop shaft blew apart a few weeks ago so it’s 2wd now. Jumped a 10ft ditch and cased it so bars are all out of whack. Exhaust is falling off and has been welded multiple times. I can keep going if you want me too. Fuse box is jimmy rigged. Transmission should be gone at this point aswell as the motor. Was waterlogged since there was an exhaust leak and went straight into the motor. Pulled plugs dried it out and off it went. Choke don’t work. Might burn oil a tiny bit but not sure. Slowly leaks or burns coolant. Front diff was ran without oil for a while. Rear springs are as loose as a lot lizard. I’m not that hard on machine but other people like to run into me or destroy it. Kinda low on cash rn so I don’t want to fix it up atm. Also it key flicks like a sum bitch, shoots 3 or 4 flames at a time.
@@misteranonymous5486 sportsman 450 are complete garbage unless you pick up sticks around the yard. Problem with them is that they’re a 579 motor tuned down so there ya go. The 570s are garbage. Also when I bought the bike it had under 1000 miles and was showroom condition. Still had the Polaris sticker on the rim aswell as those little strings of rubber that stick of the tires. There’s no excuse for a poorly built bike. Obviously with a big bore bike with big tires, something has to let go eventually especially in thick mud or clay like you said. No doubt that Polaris build quality has went down in the past few years aswell as other manufacturers. 10 minutes of me doing wheelies on my buddies 1000 outlander, tie rod bent. Pretty sure it was bent back in place before I bent it but none the less
@@misteranonymous5486 very true. Good to know you’ve been having good luck with your 570. Every person I know who has a 570 or 450 has a lot of problems and there is a lot of them around my area. I’m from NB so I use my bike for plowing and without a doubt, best little work bike ever made. Great in mud too. Straight axle bikes are not for me they get hung up too much. The u joint on my bike went a couple times now so I took a prop shaft off a 570 as they are the exact same. Main problem with those 570s are the electronics aswell as most bikes made now. Can’t complain about my bike but I don’t think I would get another one unless it was the same model. My 400 has about 11000+ kms now
Please just do your self a favor dont listen to your buddy just dont. Read some forums do some research that pin does not look bad at all they all have marks on them unless you can feel it gritty with your nail its fine if it is gritty you need a crank also I work at a dealership as a certified technician I know what I'm talking about. Also the rod will have side to side play thats fine unless its more than i would say 1/4 inch of play or more the up and down is what you do not want thats what makes noise. Best of luck.

@@DawsonPerron That’s Honda can take pretty much anything to throw at them work and play but there not meant for going through deep water and being ran hot that would kill pretty much anything just look at how many 250 big reds and other 200 Honda three wheelers are still kicking around

ive got an 08 rancher with 25000km all factory , my 2018 rubicon dct has 6000km all factory. its amazing they last if you dont try and play boat and sink the past the racks

There is no up and down play. But the pin has marks you can feel with your nail.
