Alex Carey is just hilarious to watch in these conditions. He missed the reverse sleep by a huge gap. It was comical to watch. He clearly has no trust in playing with the straight bat. The tactic of sweeping is perplexing in these conditions. You don't sweep frequently in two types of conditions. In pitches where there is inconsistent bounce and where there is low bounce. I don't think Delhi had inconsistent bounce, but the pitch had definitely low bounce.
Always love listening to the content fox sports Australia dishes out!!Love watching Australian cricket!!Tough cricketers and always play competitive cricket which I love!!
What tough cricket. They only act tough in their backyards where they have everything going for them. The moment they set foot in India they have been whining more than the poms. Crying non stop about pitches. What tough cricket are you talking about when they are getting all out within an innings. Aussies are the biggest bullies but when they face adversity, their cowardice i for everyone to see
@@ronakwadhwa2002 the Australians are tough competitors in general. India is destroying them in this series but that doesn't mean the Australians aren't what he described them as.
I have seen many tests in India since last 20 years. This pitch was nowhere near unplayable compared to past pitches I have seen. In the next match however, a red soil wicket is waiting for Kangaroos. Things will get trickier there.
Dear Border, I have grown watching you play and have tremendous respect for you. (Yeah, I am old). With due respect, Indians have played well in Australian conditions as well.
The biggest change as AB said was DRS especially in low bouncing and spinning tracks like in India. I think the results could have been very different if DRS was not there. Even the umpiring has changed. When teams have reviews left the ump was hesitant to give out. As soon as Aus was out of reviews the ump was calling everything out forcing India to use reviews.
As a cricket fan, I am really disappointed. Even after a fight back from India, Australia were 61-62 runs in the lead, only lost one wicket. 3 whole days. I said to my friend, this could be the best test match we have seen in India in a long while. It just took 1 hour to realise, that it ain't happening. The ball wasn't turning, atleast from Jadeja's End. Most batsmen got out playing a straight ball. Actually, all of Jadeja's wickets came on straight balls.
Also easier to say that they missed the straight balls, bounce was low. So it can be hard. Even Rohit did get out to straight ball in the 1st innings. Sweep shot was risky here, that was the mistake
I love to see every balls of cricket🏏 really that's great movement waited for tour of india vs australia🇦🇺 It's great assessment, I love to see Michael hussy sir He was brilliant player's australia🇦🇺 he inspired so many players he debuted age 28 created mile stone history I great to see again 🇮🇳🇮🇳🙌🙌
As a cricket fan who has been watching cricket for some time now, I can understand how tough it is for any test team to play against us on such pitches. The weather, crowd and pitches are so different. Plus teams don't get a proper practice game anymore (which happens with us too) because of time constraints or not providing the actual match pitches in those games. Also, it is tough to play ash and jadu. Any team who has to win here has to bring at least two really good spinners and 4 batsmen who can play spin well. The pitches won't change until that happens. Note: as an Indian I want my team to win but I am seeking fair competitive cricket.
I m more surprised by the technic of steve Smith he was only foreign players in recent times to succeed in Indian pitches and has experienced why the hell he is playing sweep
It was just plan for everyone ,from 1st match where Carey scored 35 odd with sweep ,,, Orthodox batters should never try any different style in these conditions & yh i know steve smith isnt orthodox and he can defend with straight bat . Funny thing is they know that Ball is keeping low , but still they were trying to swept everything .
@@notorious3416 but the biggest difference is that Indian were not known that aus will attack them with sweep .. It's Only just Game at the end of the day. I grew up watching the Aussie Domination In International Cricket. They will bounce back in no time. Good wishes to patty hope he's doing well.
Kim Hughes would of loved these conditions. Australia's best batsman in the last 40 years in regards to dancing down the wicket getting to the pitch of the ball. Plus he could play the late cut perfectly. A late cut never saw one in this test match.
Well, it indeed was a spinning track that also helped Aussie spinner;Lyon taking 7 wickets, it all came down to the batting in the second innings, most of them got out sweeping!
India has proven again that they are the best in all formats of cricket whether in india or overseas. They simply outclass any team in the world. They deserve all the accolades and praise.
One issue with Aussies and world cricket in general is underestimating his skill set (even though they respect him). I have often seen many experts call him a steady left arm bowler who can bowl fast. Jadeja is more than that simple definition. He obviously has improved after his stint in CSK and Dhoni who is a big supporter of spinners.
Jeff Clark is the best he's the only one I can leave my investment with and think less about it, he is my money maker. I just received €13,000 of my investment last month. I am very happy because he is leading me to financial freedom.
Australia are either overthinking it or advance planning, both of which doesn’t work on Indian pitches where you have to be naturally instinctive. Take it one ball at a time, one session at a time. Don’t think too much
How about ausee fixed the session. Getting all out in 32 overs raised many eyebrows. No one applies to play with straight bat. And bowlers exploited perfectly. Too much of T20 is also a reason. Spectators felt cheated and has to go home after just two and half days play.

Peter Handscomb was probably the most comfortable in playing spin between both teams, just got a jaffa in the second innings, all Aussie batters can well follow suit
They can show better intent by getting down the track and whacking the ball straight and stop this nonsense of cross batted sweeps which doesnt help when there is low bounce. If someone is as determined as Sachin by not playing sweep for an innings or 2, the fight would be much better
Pat Cummins being the only fast bowler in the XI still not bowling enough overs says it all about Aussies defensive mindset. He is the number 1 test bowler right now. If Shami can take wickets why not Cummins. After Smith's dismissal the batters went into the bazball mode trying to hit every ball taking too much risk. It doesnt work on tricky pitches. Your defense needs to be solid, you need to play with straight bat like Marnus did.
As an Indian, First time I was uneasy looking at the way Australia collapsed from 65/1 to 113. The shots looked very poor. Neither their feet was to the ball nor their bat came close to the ball. Their sweep angles never even covered the ball trajectory. It was like they were playing their own demons on the pitch. Absolutely shocking!!
So it took the hosts a time of just one test match to retain the Border Gavaskar trophy. That's pretty impressive !! 5 days of sheer clinical performances and dominating cricket. TEST Cricket is the BEST cricket
It feels so fuc**** good to be an Indian these last few years. Aussies were crushing all the teams in the previous 2 decades. Now, finally we are doing it.
I agree .. australian players panicked. They need to start playing straight instead of playing sweeps and cross bats. Also they need to play forward .. a lot more forward and block the turn .. be patient and take singles and doublea ..wait it out for boundary
Yes Michael you have to be tough but Justin Langer tried to instil that mentality in them and what happened? They couldn't handle it. But I do think the Indians didn't allow the batting to settle. Too good.
Absolutely right. They panicked after getting into good position. Cross batted shots, expecting every ball as rank turners shows how psychologically they were behind in the game..
Playing Starc would help in creating rough outside right handers . Even though it will help Lyon against our batters , it will be more useful for Ashwin to exploit. Just a perfect spot for Ashwin . Welcome Starc
200-250 was more than sufficient for 4th innings on that track, But australia was playing for 400 with all types of sweep. It was not a rank Turner, Jadeja just kept simple wicket to wicket. Bharath n Pujara showed an example of how to score quickly and yet be conservative
Whatever you will do , you can't beat India, they are tooooo good in these conditions , your number 1 baller and number 1 batsman are number 1 in their home , not in India 🤣🤣
It's simple play on the V in India and play with the time..more time you are in the crease more runs and better chance of winning..no premeditated shots
All Australian left handed batsman should go & watch how Andy Flower played the Spinners in Asia in conditions where the ball turned much more. He too swept a lot, but you see him defend , you know that we are in for a long haul. That's how much he trusted his defence. Scored bucket loads of runs against top class spinners like Murali Kumble Harbhajan Saqlain. Aussie batsmen looked as if they panicked and wanted to score boundaries of every ball ! One can't get away with that against quality soinners like Ashwin & Jadeja in any conditions let alone these ones.
Australia tried to sweep every delivery without any judgement of the fact that the ball isn't going to turn its just going straight and its not exactly staying down.
@@TheShepdawg9 but that can be tackled just by playing the line…. The deliveries that beat you big turn never get you out…Kohli looked imperious in the 1st innings cuz he was playing the line…that was straight out of Dravids textbook
Whoever still crying about pitches.. I suggest to prepare these type of pitches in Australia in next BGT and then after next BGT series Indian prepare the green and bouncing pitches in India. Let’s do it & don’t cry 😢
Aussies need to have spin friendly pitches for Shiffield shield games as a preparation for players india did that for Ranji trophy games making fast bowling pitches it’s a good mix there so we produce fast bowlers & good spinners too.
To be honest, I thought Australia was all over us till the 2nd day. Travis Head was really looking on a role. Once he falls, I don't know what drove the rest of the batsmen to play all cross batted shots till their complete fall down.
You are absolutely spot on. I would like to know who were the "brain trust" who decided to "cross bat sweep" is the way to go , on a pitch with not much bounce? I cannot rememeber one "cross bat sweep" being played by any Indian batsmen in the two Indian innings. Jadeja's performance was exagerated by the tactics of the Ausie batsmen.
Apart from mental preparation.. Aussies need to improve their ball selectionn decisively.. And work on step out to counter spin, finally work on defesive technique with straight bat to kill d spin..
Whenever India plays badly in foreign conditions this is the thing they also do, they also get out inside 30-50 overs like in newzealand or in Australia sometimes

Aussies should atleast win or draw 1 test from the remaining 2 tests so that we can see a rematch in WTC final. We don't want to see Ind vs SL final. It would be quite one-sided!
For test cricket to survive, ICC needs to focus on introducing synthetic drop-in pitches across all test-playing countries, minimizing the home country advantage due to vastly different pitch conditions from country to country.

The tactic of sweeping is perplexing in these conditions. You don't sweep frequently in two types of conditions. In pitches where there is inconsistent bounce and where there is low bounce. I don't think Delhi had inconsistent bounce, but the pitch had definitely low bounce.

What tough cricket. They only act tough in their backyards where they have everything going for them. The moment they set foot in India they have been whining more than the poms. Crying non stop about pitches. What tough cricket are you talking about when they are getting all out within an innings.
With due respect, Indians have played well in Australian conditions as well.
you guys are the bench mark..ruthless and great
The biggest change as AB said was DRS especially in low bouncing and spinning tracks like in India. I think the results could have been very different if DRS was not there.
Even the umpiring has changed. When teams have reviews left the ump was hesitant to give out. As soon as Aus was out of reviews the ump was calling everything out forcing India to use reviews.
The word of Hussey was superb... When he said you need to put price on your wicket 💕💕💕
All those straight deliveries...Jaddu did not "take" the wicket.. Auzzies "gave away" their wicket...
@@avinashviews345 exactly
One wicket of handscomb, that ball did turn and got the edge
Also easier to say that they missed the straight balls, bounce was low. So it can be hard. Even Rohit did get out to straight ball in the 1st innings.
Sweep shot was risky here, that was the mistake
@@Dheeraj71192he was driving the ball which is never feasible in such condition

Allan border is a genius. He is a gift to this beautiful game of ckt.
The ability to drop anchor, be patient and wait for the bad ball and wear the bowlers out physically and mentally, these things are missing nowadays.
Carey playing so many sweep was unexpected
But after first test ashwin & jaddu knew that they will come after them with this sweep shot method and that's where problem started when sweep shots became predictable

Kim Hughes would of loved these conditions. Australia's best batsman in the last 40 years in regards to dancing down the wicket getting to the pitch of the ball. Plus he could play the late cut perfectly. A late cut never saw one in this test match.
3:34 "3 tests between them" this is so similar to the last series in Australia, yet so different
Not to mention the net bowler💯
Todd Murphy looks legit, Aus are lucky to get a Lyon replacement right away.
Loved watching both the seasons of The Test... Hope there is a 3rd season featuring all that happened on the India Tour and the Ashes...
Just enjoy listening to Border's thoughts 💪
Well, it indeed was a spinning track that also helped Aussie spinner;Lyon taking 7 wickets, it all came down to the batting in the second innings, most of them got out sweeping!
Watching Australian cry made my eyes teary but of happiness 🤪🤪🤪
Expected bit more competition
India has proven again that they are the best in all formats of cricket whether in india or overseas.
They simply outclass any team in the world. They deserve all the accolades and praise.
One issue with Aussies and world cricket in general is underestimating his skill set (even though they respect him). I have often seen many experts call him a steady left arm bowler who can bowl fast.
Jadeja is more than that simple definition.
He obviously has improved after his stint in CSK and Dhoni who is a big supporter of spinners.
Hanscomb and Renshaw are not junior players anymore. I expect a lot more from them.
Renshaw is an opener first of all. He isn't a 5

How about an Aus XI vs Saurashtra (Ranji champions 2023) match before the Indore test?
Australia are either overthinking it or advance planning, both of which doesn’t work on Indian pitches where you have to be naturally instinctive. Take it one ball at a time, one session at a time. Don’t think too much
How about ausee fixed the session.
Getting all out in 32 overs raised many eyebrows.
No one applies to play with straight bat. And bowlers exploited perfectly.
Too much of T20 is also a reason.

Peter Handscomb was probably the most comfortable in playing spin between both teams, just got a jaffa in the second innings, all Aussie batters can well follow suit
4 in 4 wow india wins in australia last 2 tours are just jaw dropping especially the last one and india winning at home is no big deal... 😎
They can show better intent by getting down the track and whacking the ball straight and stop this nonsense of cross batted sweeps which doesnt help when there is low bounce. If someone is as determined as Sachin by not playing sweep for an innings or 2, the fight would be much better
Common India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
I’m thrilled that India won….but Pat is my favourite bowler…..Hope he’s well.

It feels so fuc**** good to be an Indian these last few years. Aussies were crushing all the teams in the previous 2 decades. Now, finally we are doing it.
u r doing it to weak teams so not a big thing
I agree .. australian players panicked. They need to start playing straight instead of playing sweeps and cross bats. Also they need to play forward .. a lot more forward and block the turn .. be patient and take singles and doublea ..wait it out for boundary
Border sir .. come to india.. gavaskar is waiting for u
Savage 😂
Yes Michael you have to be tough but Justin Langer tried to instil that mentality in them and what happened? They couldn't handle it. But I do think the Indians didn't allow the batting to settle. Too good.
Nothing pleases me more than to see the Aussies floundering against a quality side 🇬🇧🇬🇧
australia motto : loosing a game with lesser days is a day saved from further humiliation. 😂
This kind of performance after winning toss in India think if you bat fourth innings that would be disastrous
The worst is still awaiting the Aussies in Ahmedabad test they won't be able to play axar there .
Vamos India best of luck India in wtc ❤️
# love to hear from legends! #bgt #wtc #warriors!
200-250 was more than sufficient for 4th innings on that track, But australia was playing for 400 with all types of sweep. It was not a rank Turner, Jadeja just kept simple wicket to wicket. Bharath n Pujara showed an example of how to score quickly and yet be conservative
Even Rohit and Kohli showed how to play on this pitch
Bring Matthew Hayden as ur batting coach. He was very effective in India 🇮🇳
India always played well but now India seems like a champion in cricket because of the improvement of umpiring due to technological advancement.
Whatever you will do , you can't beat India, they are tooooo good in these conditions , your number 1 baller and number 1 batsman are number 1 in their home , not in India 🤣🤣
Yes
It's simple play on the V in India and play with the time..more time you are in the crease more runs and better chance of winning..no premeditated shots
If you want to sweep, buy a broom
India Never Complain About the Pitch Whether Australia or England or South Africa. This show How Good Indians are.😇😇😇
All Australian left handed batsman should go & watch how Andy Flower played the Spinners in Asia in conditions where the ball turned much more.
Australia tried to sweep every delivery without any judgement of the fact that the ball isn't going to turn its just going straight and its not exactly staying down.
...plenty of balls turned. Did you not watch the game?

Aussies need to have spin friendly pitches for Shiffield shield games as a preparation for players india did that for Ranji trophy games making fast bowling pitches it’s a good mix there so we produce fast bowlers & good spinners too.
To be honest, I thought Australia was all over us till the 2nd day. Travis Head was really looking on a role. Once he falls, I don't know what drove the rest of the batsmen to play all cross batted shots till their complete fall down.
Make these longer please
Me again. Seems to me that if (1) the ball is turning or (2) the ball is keeping low, it might be a good idea to play with a straight bat.
Always play with a straight bat.
Don’t know why Australians are mad at the players, India is just too good. If they can play spin India will use pace to counter 😂
My love and respect for Aussie cricket and the legends compels me to wish for a better showing, marnus Smith khwaja are not far away from a century, these are definitely tough conditions to bat

@@lawratify all stems from their lack if trust in defence, they thought if runs will come they will come going on all out attack, most of them don't believe they can grind it out
Aussies should atleast win or draw 1 test from the remaining 2 tests so that we can see a rematch in WTC final. We don't want to see Ind vs SL final. It would be quite one-sided!
For test cricket to survive, ICC needs to focus on introducing synthetic drop-in pitches across all test-playing countries, minimizing the home country advantage due to vastly different pitch conditions from country to country.
@Frankenstein Z I agree with your assertion of "many variables," but the primary variable is still the pitch, leading to home country advantage.

I just came from Holkar Stadium near by my Home in #Indore & from a meter distance the pitch looks quite staggering as Traditionally Bowl movement is there & Great for batting , also here ball can swing off the pitch & from 3rs day onwards it will started to turn. Because we had Total Black soil Grade 1 thus we import Red soil from Mumbai for Test Pitches & make a mix Soul Pitch for consistent Bounce as always at Indore. So here a very even contest of Runs in Batting to Bowlers on skills
Is it going to be turner?
@@hellokello6652 Yeah it will turn for sure but not as like From 1st Session itself , see Red Soil combination helps to bind in sunny days aswell & it produces bounce even while bowling Spin , so it will started turning Rank when it's completely Red soil like in Mumbai or Ahemdabad but since here it's Mixed so when the soil deteriorated, than the Turn will start from Day 3 onwards , since the quality of spinners they can produce spinn from Day 2, Kunhenman will be good cuz his action is over spin the delivery & Lyon can bowl his natural Aussie length bowling, But remember it's a Traditionally Batting Paradise sonig you Stay you can make tons of runs.
Great analysis…
