    Sunny has to be the most chill dude of Indian Cricket ever. Those who had the opportunity to watch him play and those who are able to have an interaction with him are truly blessed.

    Mr Gavaskar is easily one of the greatest batsmen ever to play the game. His record against the West Indies which had that fearsome foursome deadly pace attack is mind boggling. His achievements and his great service to Indian cricket will always be remembered much like Sir Don Bradman is remembered in Australia.

    • @poo-tinthedwarfbunkerb1tch535
      @poo-tinthedwarfbunkerb1tch535 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      But he barely played against the fearsome quatret tbh, on his first tour to the west indies he faced their b bowling attack when the quatret hadn't even formed yet and he struggled mightily whenever he actually did.

    • @SSR175
      @SSR175 4 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      @@poo-tinthedwarfbunkerb1tch535 He made 4 centuries in his debut series in 1971. He made 9 more against them after. 2 in 1976, 4 in 1978-79 and 3 in 1983, which was very much the peak of the quartet. An average of 65+ with 13 test hundreds does show how much he struggled against them.

      @@sandeeproy1327 Dear sir, Pls define your parameters for batsmanship. For me, its the most productive shot offered to any given delivery 1-taking into consideration its contribution to the overall performance of the team. 2-the psychological factor in the contest with the bowler & fielders. 4-and of course myriad factors such as game situation, wickets, home or overseas, batting 1st or 2nd etc ............ Sunny is definitely in the pantheon of batting gods, but even Sunny will concede honestly that Viv was a better batsman. Viv is 1st among equals ............. the others being Martin Crowe, Sachin, Lara, Sobers etc ... .............I have left Don out of this as his numbers are too far out. Hes The Don.

    3:45 ,batting left handed against raghuram bhat.. I was told by my freind who was a flight attendant manager in a private airline that he and his colleague were on duty and they met sir sunil gavaskar, now like a gentleman sir saw the badge of the flight attendants and started addressing by there name and my freind s colleague mentioned that he is son of raghuram bhat , that made sir interested and and told the story to my freind who was flight attendant manager of he batted left handed to upset bhat s legspin eventually he did mentioned that bhat was very good bowler .. from sir sunil gavaskar shows there was no need to tell this story to my frein who was a flight manager but by seeing him and his talks does indicate that he is gem of a gentleman
