    im coming up on 2 years in my loops. so far no adverse effects. so separation of the particles, i took one loop apart and everything still looks nice and clean. went ahead and put the original fluid back in and continued to run it.

    I put this stuff into a new loop (all components new) and it was the most visually stunning fluid I've ever seen. It was literally mesmerizing.
    About 4 months later I took the loop apart just to add a GPU backplate for a sandwich and found solid matter was everywhere, including stains on the inside of the tubes (hard) and the reservoir. It was even inside the fittings!
    A very thin talcum-like powder, white and light blueish. Had to throw the tubes out, was able to disassemble the blocks and res to clean them. No permanent damage but a royal PITA that was just not worth it.

    I've used vue from january to july and my experience with it was relatively pain free. Barely any build up from it and any that was there was very easy to wipe off.

  • @PCPAyLOAD
    @PCPAyLOAD 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I got about 3 weeks out my Primochill Vue Sterling Silver. CPU, GPU and all tubing had a very heavy film build-up. I tried a Reboot flush and it was still pretty bad. Tossed the tubing and went back to EK non-opaque coolant never looking back.

    • @l__l2328
      @l__l2328 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you used soft tubing, the VUE must have leached some plastiziser from the tubing since its mildly embrasive.

    • @camerongsx9122

      Vue also reacts with air. Mine went milky from because i had one of those pressure relesse fittings. Replacing it and using replacement coolant, going on near 2 years without issues since.

  • @84Actionjack
    @84Actionjack 6 ปีที่แล้ว +48

    Don't think I'd be comfortable suspending the reservoir over the power supply. I'd probably at least flip the P/S over so the fan draws air from the bottom of the case maybe preventing leaks causing a short or, heaven forbid, a fire.

    • @bigfishpondhome1
      @bigfishpondhome1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unless the ends pop off the reservoir I see absolutely no reason to worry. The fittings are the place where there could be a leak and he is using right angle fittings screwed into the reservoir, so if the tubes pop the coolant will spray up or down way to the right of the PSU. And if the PSU was to get wet from there , then it would from any where in the case.

  • @tat2thadevil76

    Set the Fan Curve in Bios to the Water temp... if you have a temp sensor! Still, 90° is way too high for the GPU under water, even at low Rpm Fans or Passive Rad cooling... Check if the Block is mounted properly right length Screws & right thickness Thermalpads!

    • @v.aesthetic3764
      @v.aesthetic3764  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought about that but keep in mind this case has terrible airflow which greatly diminishes its ability to passively cool. Especially considering I had just run a cpu stress test.

    • @v.aesthetic3764
      @v.aesthetic3764  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    1.19 There was no 'research' for VUE at the time it was released (Late 2017). All the hype suggested it was designed not to clog and it was touted as a long term coolant unlike Mayhems Aurora. But yes, in hindsight I agree we with you that every coolant that contains some particulates *is* going to clog or cause issues eventually.

    I do not use pastel / solid colors because I do not want to deal with the buildup. But like you mentioned at the start, you must do your research. I did my research and decided on EK's Blood Red Cryofluid and it has been awesome. Another note: 90C is very hot for a gpu on water even with the fans on low.Those EK blocks tend to have problems with temps unless you use the shortest possible screws.

    • @bluewater82
      @bluewater82 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah his GPU temps were really bad. I tried to replicate them by locking my fans on their lowest possible speeds and running FireStrike Ultra stress test for 15mins and my GPU barely touched 71C core (85C junction and 79C hotspot). That was with a power-hungry 3080 drawing twice the wattage that his 1080 did. I normally undervolt it to keep the temps even lower and draw less power but I reverted it to factory settings to try replicating his results.
      Why do you say EK has problems with the screw lengths? I have an EK Quantum block and didn’t have a single issue with the screws.

    When it comes to water loops I have stopped using that Mayhems blitz clean crap, I started using it under the instruction it must be used to clean out parts, yet every time I have used it and despite following the instructions fully I found that i was getting color shift and fallout within 5 months with Mayhems pastel blue, my last PC however I used the same parts but new and skipped the blitz and chucked the mayhems pastel right in and that lasted over a year and a half before i decided to clean the system and it had minimal fall out and no color shift at all, so I am convinced that the blitz clean crap is the cause

    • @v.aesthetic3764
      @v.aesthetic3764  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have used Aurora 3 times, never long term, and every time it has coated the inside of everything with silver. Don't get me wrong, it's gorgeous, but definitely a pain to clean up. I've never had any problems with pastel fluid but there's always a little bit of stuff to clean out of the blocks.

    Sedimentation.... Have you tried fixing it by adjusting pump speed? There is a decent amount of head pressure with all those fittings and or you might end up with more laminar flow and less turbulent flow to mix the sediments back into suspension. I doubt they are glued to anything in the system if you are not running air bubbles needlessly in the loop to oxidize or evaporate part of the fluid.

    Hey man great video that gave me a lot of info that helped me decide if Vue was worth the hassle.
    I’m still a bit confused with your thermals on the GPU. Even with a low fan curve I don’t see how a 1080 on water could hit 90C and throttle so hard in 15mins. Did you ever take the block apart and double-check your thermal pads and paste? I can’t even break past 72C with my 3080 and that is with the fans manually locked as slow as I can get them without them stopping (around 250rpm).

  • @inthedark334
    @inthedark334 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    When you're putting in primochill if you haven't completely clean the line or if there's anything left of the fluid that came before or if your blocks aren't completely clean primochill actually clean the stuff off and it's going to start to accumulate in other areas really if you're going to use primochill only use copper if you use anything else other than copper you're going to have a reaction and please clean your lines well if not you're going to get a reaction

    I have no issue to change coolant but the primochill Vue is just absurd just look at some of the precautions
    you can't run your machine for more then 8 a day ?
    you need to change it about 4-6 months
    and some other bs. no thanks other coolants have much better tolerant you can run them 1-2 years with no worries or issues flush your system and put the new coolant.

    saying its peoples fault for not doing enough research and to just stop complaining. is a horrible mindset to have on the issue.
    expecting everyone to do their due diligence and not take the manufacturers advertising at face value is naive.
    the problem with Vue was the huge amount of promotion around it and within the community about it. big youtubers like jays2cents saying nothing but good things about it, "it cleaned the blocks", said some shit like that.
    Marketing works, and people are stupid and got fooled. is it people's fault? no its PrimoChill's fault, and their credibility as a brand deserves to be in tatters because of this

    I think if you are going to use a solid fluid, i think the loop maintenance interval should be roughly be 6 months with a monthly stress test and visual inspection. Clear Fluid with clear dyes should be fine for a year until a change but a visual inspection should be done every other month.
