Want the build to look like an Alchemy Table. How long or far can your run you're Tubing, how many reservoirs can you run or is this a matter of getting a beefier Pump?? How crazy can one get? I have 2 years to design this.

15:28 Here are some fun facts about the PMMA tubing used in this build! PMMA stands for poly(methyl methacrylate), which is the polymer of methyl methacrylate, a derivative of acrylic acid. Jay, you were exactly right when you said that PMMA is just like "acrylic," because PMMA is the most common acrylic material! PMMA is also the material in "acrylic" windows for PC cases. Companies can process the material differently to get the frosted look instead of the transparent look. It is a relatively brittle material (hence why you cannot use the shears on it like PVC) and begins to melt at 105 C, and at 220 C, it is fully melted. At 105 C, it does not flow very well. This is because the PMMA molecules are entangled with one another, making it hard to move past one another. PMMA is stable up to approximately 200-250 C (your milage may vary). Corsair is definitely not synthesizing PMMA. They might buy PMMA and process it into tubing, but they might also just buy the manufactured tubing from another company. Awesome build! It makes me want to do a custom loop on my next PC (many years in the future). Phil's montage was a work of art, as usual! Thank you guys for creating informative and entertaining content! This has been my favorite youtube channel for over a year.
I really like how Phil chose to use the moment Jay sips his monster to transition into the epic montage. I can't tell you how many times I've taken a key sip of my caffeinated beverage right before convincing myself I was getting a ton of shit done it honestly feels like how the montage came out. 10/10 build and vlog
I'd like to see some more Phil content, when he filled in for Jay while in Taiwan I think he did a really good job. Obviously more anxious than normal being in the spotlight but he's a great character and a great part of the team.
Thank you for the longer format. It was also almost nice to see this sort of "old school" JTC vid style of doing everything by yourself (though Phil is def much better at camerawork lol). I appreciate all of this, especially letting us see you dealing with the irritations that pop up in these builds, makes the rest of us feel a bit better when we deal with it, knowing the "professionals" also hit these bumps in the road. Jay and iFixit, the only ad spot I don't skip because it's hillarious. :) I enjoy watching your builds. Never done a custom loop myself, though used many AIOs. Some day perhaps.
It’s not hard. It takes lots of money and just some planning. You’ll waste tubes and if you live near a microcenter you’ll be running there a lot for odds and ends you didn’t foresee. The worst part which no one talks about is having to drain and disassemble your entire loop to get to a ram slot or nvme drive. If you tinker a lot or upgrade nvme drives it gets old quick. Soft tubing is a little more forgiving in this department. Last year I got tired of having to tear my whole build down that I went back to aio. Now I’m ready to build a loop, just waiting for my 4090 to arrive. Then in a year I’m sure I’ll get tired and switch back to aio. It’s a cycle, and a labor of love.
While I do agree I think it's time to update the commercial. Especially since the inventory problem doesn't exist anymore. That said, when I went to repair the Joy Cons on my Switch I spent the extra $ on the iFixIt stuff to support their sponsorship of JTC. @@michaelv1984 I've wanted to do my own water cooled system for over 20 years and finally did one 1.5 years ago and went soft tubing. It's definitely easier though not as pretty as hard tubing but what you said about making numerous runs for parts still stands true! I live in Montana so there's no chance of getting PC components in a timely manner so it took a few weeks of ordering various new fittings and routing things differently.
Just want to say that while this was a very long video, I appreciated all of it. Hearing your thought process, seeing issues you run into, how you fix them, and of course the money shot at the end is all good. it'll be a while before I water cool my system, but I love the inspiration you give me.

I am so gat damn happy to watch someone as established and knowledgable, get a few things backwards. Honestly, he could've cut out a couple of the mistakes and made himself look like a know it all, perfect smurf who can't take a wrong step. Instead, he showed us how easy it is to overlook something, do it over, and then succeed with it. That's important: to double and triple check stuff like this, do it again and do it right, and then check it all again if you had to change something. That's what so incredibly valuable here, his humility and transparency. I wonder if Linus is as transparent with making mistakes or overlooking a detail. But truly, just makes me feel good to know that, although everyone says "it's easy, anyone can put a pc together" that is isn't, and that the mistakes and do-overs, the trial and error, of my first (very basic) build, are definitely part and parcel of the process and I did not do a bad job or a slow job. Because it did take longer than I was expecting for sure, most of my Saturday , like when I woke up around 8, til around 10. I just wish I had put in some rgb fans or something. I might just buy individual led tape and plug it in if that's a possibility. I just want the inside of the case lit up a bit.
There's something about a water cooled build that's so unbelievably stressful, and yet, so undeniably awesome and rewarding. Sick build, Jay! As always, Phil's montage is bad ass, too!

I mentioned this the last time Jay used the Corsair foggy hard tubes "pmma", but here I go again I guess xD PMMA is just the scientific name for acrylic glass... So when you say you don't know how to describe the feeling, perhaps it's because you haven't worked with acrylic for a long time and just don't remember the exact feeling for it. My guess is that Corsair isn't saying "acrylic tubes" and uses the term PMMA instead, because of the negative view that acrylic tubes have gained these last 5 years of TH-cam PC videos. This "infamy" stems from the fact that working with PETG is just easier and requires less patience and precision, so not only is it easier for first time users, but it also makes life easier for PC TH-camrs that needed to make lots of custom PCs for their videos (as well as professional PC builders that sell custom rigs). So yeah, I know Corsair is one of the biggest, if not THE biggest sponsor of your channel, but wether you're purposely avoiding that fact, or are not properly investigating the products you feature in your videos... I think that should change :/

Fun fact : I used to work for a Dental Lab doing cad/cam work designing crowns and bridges. A lot of temporary crowns, bridges and dentures are made out of PMMA these days. It's the cleanest/best looking material that is strong enough for day to day use before the finished porcelain product is finished. Never seen it used outside of the dental industry! Long time fan, keep up the cool builds!

I love how corasair has convinced everyone they have special materials buy marketing PMMA by its generic name rather than calling it acrylic. Love the longer videos and I think the build turned out pretty nice. I sill want you guys to do more mod and customization with 3d printing. Maybe one day.
I think I remember a video from Jay from very long time ago, where he exactly states, that PMMA is the same as acrylic. Jumping on that marketing train fells kinda odd to me.
Jay that build is a very beautiful crafted build from the amount of lighting it gives off with the bottom “fancy plate” to the frosted tubing the fittings you used we can call this build “Patience”. Because patience was really a beauty. Hopefully the fluid don’t clog and the overall performance is what you are looking for but man amazing build.
on 9:49: You can actually fit the 28mm fittings in there by separating the 2x 90 rotary fittings and installing the 28mm first to the 1st 90rotary. The trick would be to connect the 28mm + 90 fitting first to the res then you can just rotate the rotary part of that 90 to connect to the 90 on the radiator. I've done it a few times before in similar situations
We've all been there going deep into the night when we really should just hit the hay. Build looks great, I really love those frosted tubes. If I ever decide to convert my build from soft to hard tubing, they're what I would use. Phil's montage was spectacular

i dont know how, but Jay's watercooling builds are so relaxing, everything jsut fits perfectly, and its the whole reason i tried doing water cooling, but no its not that easyits very stressful and takes a lot of time, makes you respect how he does with ease edit: dammit i spoke too soon i was halfway into the video then something happened lmao
I find bending tubes very relaxing maybe its because I always get way more tubing than i need. That first leak test is the worst though. That air pump Jay used looks promising.
Add your own thread to the rad for a drain port. I've previously done it a couple of times and not too hard if you are used to case modding. Just make sure the end caps on the rad are brass, drill a hole use a brass G1/4 female fitting as an insert, flux and solder it in. Drain port.
I hope Jay get's around to creating some more custom cases. I loved those! Seeing him mod his PC case in various ways was really awesome. Oh and I love the build!
I love pc passion projects, which this is. Really cool build. What keeps me from going custom loop is the amount of maintenance such a build needs. Want to change or upgrade something? Drain the fluid. Something is failing? Drain the fluid first. But if you go down the rabbit hole of custom loops one time, you probably don't wanna go back. 😊

Ive been a console gamer since the N64 and all my friends switched to PC around when the 1080ti came out and I finally broke down last year and fully built me a PC and I got a 3070ti, intel i7 11700f 32gb ram and a 750 watt power supply and haven't touched my PS5 or Series X since lol
I will say that this is probably my favorite video you guys have made. I love getting to see all the troubleshooting and problems happen rather than skipping over them like a lot of videos do.

Hi J ... thank you so much for the post about the updates to your build. It's beautiful. I, too, heard the rain this last week (I live in SoCal), working late on my build. You just had to show those EKWB fittings. They look mighty sweet! I might have to put the final completion of mine on hold until I get my hand on some of those. They're going like hotcakes! Just a note (yes, you were punch drunk, lol)..., 'friction loss' would be a more accurate description of the resistance in the water flow vs. 'back pressure.' It increases with all fittings, especially when you incorporate turns using 90s. Again, very beautiful, and thanks for the longer, 'old school' format. Much appreciated! 😉👍
I've been watching your channel for years, and after being a budget builder for a long time I finally made my first water cooled build this year, and I did it with hardline. Thanks for the knowledge and inspiration.
Wow I love the build I like the reservoir at the bottom rather than having long pipes running alone the case it really opens it up and lets the lights flow through the case. I have never gone water cooled but this idea may actually make me want to give it a go. Awesome vid thank you for bringing us along for the build.

This build looks fantastic. There's something always sexy about Black and Silver. Do yourself a favor and get a Megahome Countertop water distiller. Sure it takes about 4 hours for a gallon of water but you never have to worry about doing a store run last minute and can always refill the gallon jugs to always keep 2 or 3 on hand as needed. I've probably made 500 gallons in the last 3 years and mine is still going strong. Fil it up, let it churn overnight and come in to a fresh gallon that reads zero PPM on my TDS reader. Worth every penny.

Hey Jay, I don’t know if you’re gonna see this or not. I got out of the Marines in September and since I was moving around a lot, I only had a laptop. Did it’s purpose. But I discovered your channel when I was in and I learned so much more than I thought I could ever understand about computers. Well the time’s come and I’m finally building my own computer, all of my parts are ordered and some already came in. Went with a Ryzen 7 7700x and came with a code for Jedi Survivor for $350, grabbed a gigabyte 4070TI eagle PC, Corsair vengeance DDR5. I’m really excited. Everything will finally be here together by this week Saturday
These videos never get old. Your channel and a couple others taught me how to build my own PC back in 2016. I built another one in 2017. Was awesome info then, and still awesome information. Glad to see how far the channel has come. 2016 feels like forever ago. I still have both PC, and still use the 2017 one everyday. I want to upgrade it to maybe a Ryzen 7950x, with an Asus Z670E-E and a kick butt graphics card, a Corsair LCD XT cooler and some Corsair ram. I recently updated the 1060 that was in it to a GTX 3060 as well as an ultra wide monitor and changed everything over to a Hyte y60 case. But for being a i7-7700k with an Asus z270 gaming, it’s still fast and I can play everything in Ultra. Without you guys, I would still be dreaming. Just wish I had the funds to upgrade to my dream build. Next thing I want to upgrade to is the AIO, mine is a H115i from 2017, not sure how much life it has left in it.

Great use of the adaptors, it looked as if it was originally going to be an utter nightmare to run tubes but it came out clean AF. Loved the old school deep dive into making a custom rig, you learn much more by seeing all the problems that arise when building a system so complex and your solutions were great. This is a sick looking system 10/10.
I'm still on a shitbox computer, upgrading to an aio soon, yet I'm researching water-cooling. It's crazy how computers taught me about voltage and soldering, plumbing, diy-engineering, and how rigid pieces of metal with some air or water in-between can help cool processors to stay under 80 degrees. It's crazy, but I love it. Weird way of saying I like building computers, but I'm just happy to have the privilege of getting great info from jay
The rotatory 90s allow you to screw in tight spots. Attach the male/male to the 90, attach to reservoir then use the 90 rotatory to screw into the other fittings.
Glad to see someone who's as into watercooling as you finally show of a leak tester! As a budget concious watercooler (yeah I know, it doesn't really work) that is the most *vital* piece of equipment you can get. It allowed me to buy used hardware and check every component by itself, then test the whole loop. Had a slight leak on the CPU block, that would definitely screw up my day.

Ive built somewhat standard PC's before (with your channel as help lol) But a few weeks ago I finally went ahead and built my current PC which was far more expensive than anything before, painted parts custom sleeves and modded my case all with your help! I even got an Ifixit kit and wow I use it a lot. Just wanted to say thank you for all your insanely helpful content that never fails to make me smile :)
Hey @JayzTwoCents , that 28mm Male male static extender you’d like to put in that small spot connecting rad to distro plate that you say you can’t add. Why not just work backwards? Take everything on that line off and work backwards starting from the distro. So in order of input start from distro plate, screw in 28mm, then screw in 90. Then go from the rad and do the same until the last part is the 14mm extender. Use the rotary on the 90 for easy installation. Take the tube out, it’ll look much cleaner man

Love Jay's devotion and attention to detail, you can see he genuinely loves what he is doing, sick build man, wonder how much in total with everything would this cost me if I did this build myself?
I've been using shelving L brackets involving GFX cards, a tiny L braket is made to hold over a hundred pounds, so buying & cutting it down to the size you need. And if you tap screws in the right places, the GFX Card will NEVER move, or sag. When helping a friend who built his own case out of wood, we used a shelving L bracket to mount the card vertical, mounting the PCIe in the bracket, lol now I want to do it on a my next build.
Jay you are a true wealth of knowledge. You have single handedly taught me somehow to build my very first computer. There are something Ill have to rearrange and tweak (personal part choice issue cooler blocks my pcie slot lol) but I have my first ever gaming rig up and running on it's integrated graphics at home with updated bios and everything finally and it's been awesome watching all of your vids and learning so much along the way. Thanks for everything man.
Building my first rig in over 10 years (and first ever water-cooled) seems I've made good choices on components as I've picked similar to yourself although my hard pipe definitely isn't looking as smart. Just waiting on my flow meter (same one as yours) to arrive tomorrow so good to know about switching the impeller over. Taken considerably longer than i expected with all the RGB and water-cooling and I'm only doing that on the CPU. Been following the channel for loads of tips during this build which has been really helpful and at points saved me making painstaking mistakes.
My favorite phil-montage is still black ice. I watched that one multiple times 😂 Adds a really nice touch to the hard work that goes into these builds 🤘🏻
It looks great, Jay! I'm going with three of EK's crossflow rads for my O11D XL with two sets of QD fittings between the water blocks and the rads that will allow me to take the rads out for easy dusting. The bottom QD will also function as my drain and I'll have an Alphacool flow and temp meter so that I can monitor the liquid temps and the flow rate and use that in Fan Control to adjust the fans and pump to keep the system cool under load. To be honest, I haven't done any watercooling since the mid-2000s so it's somewhat daunting, but I'm excited to do it.
That's the thing I love about Jay, is he makes all the same dumb mistakes we all do, and he's not shy about admitting it. Difference is, he knows how to recover from them, and he's funny while doing it.

What's going to drive me nuts in doing my first rigid tube loop is getting all those "it's a few degrees off" problems fixed. Building in a Lian Li V3000 Plus, so I'll have ROOM to work, but that might actually bite me in the ass, too. Leaves to be seen. Can't plan a loop til Wednesday when the rest of my parts arrive (waiting for EK blocks, fans, and an AIO just to test the system and update drivers/BIOS), THEN order fittings and wait some more. I MIGHT order a couple of those flow meters (dual loop..duh). They look amazing, but how to work them in with what I want to do....not sure. Rig will be all black and purple. Painting the grating on the case Plum Crazy. Also, if you had affiliate links, I just ordered both the pressure tester AND that tubing bit. LOL
Since you made that tutorial on custom water cooled systems, I use the PMMA tubes from Corsair, in the shop where I buy most of my stuff they have these a lot on their outlet store, complete boxes, with 3 or more per pack. As I'm building these too, I just have a small stock lying around here, in all variances they offer. Or, I buy them bent, from EK, depends on the order income, but you can feel a difference in tube than the Corsairs.

15:28 Here are some fun facts about the PMMA tubing used in this build! PMMA stands for poly(methyl methacrylate), which is the polymer of methyl methacrylate, a derivative of acrylic acid. Jay, you were exactly right when you said that PMMA is just like "acrylic," because PMMA is the most common acrylic material! PMMA is also the material in "acrylic" windows for PC cases. Companies can process the material differently to get the frosted look instead of the transparent look. It is a relatively brittle material (hence why you cannot use the shears on it like PVC) and begins to melt at 105 C, and at 220 C, it is fully melted. At 105 C, it does not flow very well. This is because the PMMA molecules are entangled with one another, making it hard to move past one another. PMMA is stable up to approximately 200-250 C (your milage may vary). Corsair is definitely not synthesizing PMMA. They might buy PMMA and process it into tubing, but they might also just buy the manufactured tubing from another company.

It’s not hard. It takes lots of money and just some planning. You’ll waste tubes and if you live near a microcenter you’ll be running there a lot for odds and ends you didn’t foresee. The worst part which no one talks about is having to drain and disassemble your entire loop to get to a ram slot or nvme drive. If you tinker a lot or upgrade nvme drives it gets old quick. Soft tubing is a little more forgiving in this department. Last year I got tired of having to tear my whole build down that I went back to aio. Now I’m ready to build a loop, just waiting for my 4090 to arrive. Then in a year I’m sure I’ll get tired and switch back to aio. It’s a cycle, and a labor of love.
While I do agree I think it's time to update the commercial. Especially since the inventory problem doesn't exist anymore. That said, when I went to repair the Joy Cons on my Switch I spent the extra $ on the iFixIt stuff to support their sponsorship of JTC.
@@michaelv1984 I've wanted to do my own water cooled system for over 20 years and finally did one 1.5 years ago and went soft tubing. It's definitely easier though not as pretty as hard tubing but what you said about making numerous runs for parts still stands true! I live in Montana so there's no chance of getting PC components in a timely manner so it took a few weeks of ordering various new fittings and routing things differently.
Just want to say that while this was a very long video, I appreciated all of it. Hearing your thought process, seeing issues you run into, how you fix them, and of course the money shot at the end is all good. it'll be a while before I water cool my system, but I love the inspiration you give me.

I am so gat damn happy to watch someone as established and knowledgable, get a few things backwards. Honestly, he could've cut out a couple of the mistakes and made himself look like a know it all, perfect smurf who can't take a wrong step.
Instead, he showed us how easy it is to overlook something, do it over, and then succeed with it. That's important: to double and triple check stuff like this, do it again and do it right, and then check it all again if you had to change something.
That's what so incredibly valuable here, his humility and transparency.
I wonder if Linus is as transparent with making mistakes or overlooking a detail.
But truly, just makes me feel good to know that, although everyone says "it's easy, anyone can put a pc together" that is isn't, and that the mistakes and do-overs, the trial and error, of my first (very basic) build, are definitely part and parcel of the process and I did not do a bad job or a slow job.
Because it did take longer than I was expecting for sure, most of my Saturday , like when I woke up around 8, til around 10.
I just wish I had put in some rgb fans or something. I might just buy individual led tape and plug it in if that's a possibility. I just want the inside of the case lit up a bit.
The struggle is real! We all have those moments and it's one of the reasons I love this channel. ❤

I mentioned this the last time Jay used the Corsair foggy hard tubes "pmma", but here I go again I guess xD
PMMA is just the scientific name for acrylic glass... So when you say you don't know how to describe the feeling, perhaps it's because you haven't worked with acrylic for a long time and just don't remember the exact feeling for it.
My guess is that Corsair isn't saying "acrylic tubes" and uses the term PMMA instead, because of the negative view that acrylic tubes have gained these last 5 years of TH-cam PC videos.
This "infamy" stems from the fact that working with PETG is just easier and requires less patience and precision, so not only is it easier for first time users, but it also makes life easier for PC TH-camrs that needed to make lots of custom PCs for their videos (as well as professional PC builders that sell custom rigs).
So yeah, I know Corsair is one of the biggest, if not THE biggest sponsor of your channel, but wether you're purposely avoiding that fact, or are not properly investigating the products you feature in your videos... I think that should change :/

Fun fact : I used to work for a Dental Lab doing cad/cam work designing crowns and bridges. A lot of temporary crowns, bridges and dentures are made out of PMMA these days. It's the cleanest/best looking material that is strong enough for day to day use before the finished porcelain product is finished. Never seen it used outside of the dental industry! Long time fan, keep up the cool builds!

I love how corasair has convinced everyone they have special materials buy marketing PMMA by its generic name rather than calling it acrylic. Love the longer videos and I think the build turned out pretty nice. I sill want you guys to do more mod and customization with 3d printing. Maybe one day.

I think I remember a video from Jay from very long time ago, where he exactly states, that PMMA is the same as acrylic. Jumping on that marketing train fells kinda odd to me.

Jay that build is a very beautiful crafted build from the amount of lighting it gives off with the bottom “fancy plate” to the frosted tubing the fittings you used we can call this build “Patience”. Because patience was really a beauty. Hopefully the fluid don’t clog and the overall performance is what you are looking for but man amazing build.
on 9:49: You can actually fit the 28mm fittings in there by separating the 2x 90 rotary fittings and installing the 28mm first to the 1st 90rotary. The trick would be to connect the 28mm + 90 fitting first to the res then you can just rotate the rotary part of that 90 to connect to the 90 on the radiator. I've done it a few times before in similar situations
We've all been there going deep into the night when we really should just hit the hay. Build looks great, I really love those frosted tubes. If I ever decide to convert my build from soft to hard tubing, they're what I would use. Phil's montage was spectacular

i dont know how, but Jay's watercooling builds are so relaxing, everything jsut fits perfectly, and its the whole reason i tried doing water cooling, but no its not that easyits very stressful and takes a lot of time, makes you respect how he does with ease

I find bending tubes very relaxing maybe its because I always get way more tubing than i need. That first leak test is the worst though. That air pump Jay used looks promising.
Love this build so much, the fittings, fluid color and RBG work so well together (not to mention how clean the pipes are)! Well done!
Add your own thread to the rad for a drain port. I've previously done it a couple of times and not too hard if you are used to case modding. Just make sure the end caps on the rad are brass, drill a hole use a brass G1/4 female fitting as an insert, flux and solder it in. Drain port.
I hope Jay get's around to creating some more custom cases. I loved those! Seeing him mod his PC case in various ways was really awesome. Oh and I love the build!
I love pc passion projects, which this is. Really cool build.
What keeps me from going custom loop is the amount of maintenance such a build needs. Want to change or upgrade something? Drain the fluid. Something is failing? Drain the fluid first. But if you go down the rabbit hole of custom loops one time, you probably don't wanna go back. 😊

Ive been a console gamer since the N64 and all my friends switched to PC around when the 1080ti came out and I finally broke down last year and fully built me a PC and I got a 3070ti, intel i7 11700f 32gb ram and a 750 watt power supply and haven't touched my PS5 or Series X since lol
I will say that this is probably my favorite video you guys have made. I love getting to see all the troubleshooting and problems happen rather than skipping over them like a lot of videos do.

You just had to show those EKWB fittings. They look mighty sweet! I might have to put the final completion of mine on hold until I get my hand on some of those. They're going like hotcakes! Just a note (yes, you were punch drunk, lol)..., 'friction loss' would be a more accurate description of the resistance in the water flow vs. 'back pressure.' It increases with all fittings, especially when you incorporate turns using 90s. Again, very beautiful, and thanks for the longer, 'old school' format. Much appreciated! 😉👍
I've been watching your channel for years, and after being a budget builder for a long time I finally made my first water cooled build this year, and I did it with hardline. Thanks for the knowledge and inspiration.
Wow I love the build I like the reservoir at the bottom rather than having long pipes running alone the case it really opens it up and lets the lights flow through the case.
I have never gone water cooled but this idea may actually make me want to give it a go.

This build looks fantastic. There's something always sexy about Black and Silver. Do yourself a favor and get a Megahome Countertop water distiller. Sure it takes about 4 hours for a gallon of water but you never have to worry about doing a store run last minute and can always refill the gallon jugs to always keep 2 or 3 on hand as needed. I've probably made 500 gallons in the last 3 years and mine is still going strong. Fil it up, let it churn overnight and come in to a fresh gallon that reads zero PPM on my TDS reader. Worth every penny.

Hey Jay, I don’t know if you’re gonna see this or not. I got out of the Marines in September and since I was moving around a lot, I only had a laptop. Did it’s purpose. But I discovered your channel when I was in and I learned so much more than I thought I could ever understand about computers. Well the time’s come and I’m finally building my own computer, all of my parts are ordered and some already came in. Went with a Ryzen 7 7700x and came with a code for Jedi Survivor for $350, grabbed a gigabyte 4070TI eagle PC, Corsair vengeance DDR5. I’m really excited. Everything will finally be here together by this week Saturday
These videos never get old. Your channel and a couple others taught me how to build my own PC back in 2016. I built another one in 2017. Was awesome info then, and still awesome information. Glad to see how far the channel has come. 2016 feels like forever ago. I still have both PC, and still use the 2017 one everyday. I want to upgrade it to maybe a Ryzen 7950x, with an Asus Z670E-E and a kick butt graphics card, a Corsair LCD XT cooler and some Corsair ram.
I recently updated the 1060 that was in it to a GTX 3060 as well as an ultra wide monitor and changed everything over to a Hyte y60 case. But for being a i7-7700k with an Asus z270 gaming, it’s still fast and I can play everything in Ultra. Without you guys, I would still be dreaming. Just wish I had the funds to upgrade to my dream build. Next thing I want to upgrade to is the AIO, mine is a H115i from 2017, not sure how much life it has left in it.

Great use of the adaptors, it looked as if it was originally going to be an utter nightmare to run tubes but it came out clean AF. Loved the old school deep dive into making a custom rig, you learn much more by seeing all the problems that arise when building a system so complex and your solutions were great. This is a sick looking system 10/10.

I'm still on a shitbox computer, upgrading to an aio soon, yet I'm researching water-cooling. It's crazy how computers taught me about voltage and soldering, plumbing, diy-engineering, and how rigid pieces of metal with some air or water in-between can help cool processors to stay under 80 degrees. It's crazy, but I love it. Weird way of saying I like building computers, but I'm just happy to have the privilege of getting great info from jay

The rotatory 90s allow you to screw in tight spots. Attach the male/male to the 90, attach to reservoir then use the 90 rotatory to screw into the other fittings.

Glad to see someone who's as into watercooling as you finally show of a leak tester!
As a budget concious watercooler (yeah I know, it doesn't really work) that is the most *vital* piece of equipment you can get.
It allowed me to buy used hardware and check every component by itself, then test the whole loop. Had a slight leak on the CPU block, that would definitely screw up my day.

Ive built somewhat standard PC's before (with your channel as help lol) But a few weeks ago I finally went ahead and built my current PC which was far more expensive than anything before, painted parts custom sleeves and modded my case all with your help! I even got an Ifixit kit and wow I use it a lot. Just wanted to say thank you for all your insanely helpful content that never fails to make me smile :)

Hey @JayzTwoCents , that 28mm Male male static extender you’d like to put in that small spot connecting rad to distro plate that you say you can’t add. Why not just work backwards? Take everything on that line off and work backwards starting from the distro. So in order of input start from distro plate, screw in 28mm, then screw in 90. Then go from the rad and do the same until the last part is the 14mm extender. Use the rotary on the 90 for easy installation. Take the tube out, it’ll look much cleaner man

9:40 You need a connector that has one side as right hand threads and the other side with left hand threads.
I've been using shelving L brackets involving GFX cards, a tiny L braket is made to hold over a hundred pounds, so buying & cutting it down to the size you need. And if you tap screws in the right places, the GFX Card will NEVER move, or sag. When helping a friend who built his own case out of wood, we used a shelving L bracket to mount the card vertical, mounting the PCIe in the bracket, lol now I want to do it on a my next build.
Jay you are a true wealth of knowledge. You have single handedly taught me somehow to build my very first computer. There are something Ill have to rearrange and tweak (personal part choice issue cooler blocks my pcie slot lol) but I have my first ever gaming rig up and running on it's integrated graphics at home with updated bios and everything finally and it's been awesome watching all of your vids and learning so much along the way. Thanks for everything man.
Building my first rig in over 10 years (and first ever water-cooled) seems I've made good choices on components as I've picked similar to yourself although my hard pipe definitely isn't looking as smart. Just waiting on my flow meter (same one as yours) to arrive tomorrow so good to know about switching the impeller over. Taken considerably longer than i expected with all the RGB and water-cooling and I'm only doing that on the CPU. Been following the channel for loads of tips during this build which has been really helpful and at points saved me making painstaking mistakes.

It looks great, Jay! I'm going with three of EK's crossflow rads for my O11D XL with two sets of QD fittings between the water blocks and the rads that will allow me to take the rads out for easy dusting. The bottom QD will also function as my drain and I'll have an Alphacool flow and temp meter so that I can monitor the liquid temps and the flow rate and use that in Fan Control to adjust the fans and pump to keep the system cool under load.
To be honest, I haven't done any watercooling since the mid-2000s so it's somewhat daunting, but I'm excited to do it.

That's the thing I love about Jay, is he makes all the same dumb mistakes we all do, and he's not shy about admitting it. Difference is, he knows how to recover from them, and he's funny while doing it.

What's going to drive me nuts in doing my first rigid tube loop is getting all those "it's a few degrees off" problems fixed. Building in a Lian Li V3000 Plus, so I'll have ROOM to work, but that might actually bite me in the ass, too. Leaves to be seen. Can't plan a loop til Wednesday when the rest of my parts arrive (waiting for EK blocks, fans, and an AIO just to test the system and update drivers/BIOS), THEN order fittings and wait some more.
I MIGHT order a couple of those flow meters (dual loop..duh). They look amazing, but how to work them in with what I want to do....not sure.
Rig will be all black and purple. Painting the grating on the case Plum Crazy. Also, if you had affiliate links, I just ordered both the pressure tester AND that tubing bit. LOL

Since you made that tutorial on custom water cooled systems, I use the PMMA tubes from Corsair, in the shop where I buy most of my stuff they have these a lot on their outlet store, complete boxes, with 3 or more per pack. As I'm building these too, I just have a small stock lying around here, in all variances they offer. Or, I buy them bent, from EK, depends on the order income, but you can feel a difference in tube than the Corsairs.
Videos where you encounter problems are the best. We can then see your solutions to help if we have the same or similar problem.

This is one of your best recent videos. I love this stuff. Good old Jay doing what Jay does best. I’m making my build this year and just wanted to thank you for helping me and inspiring me along the way. I plan to get a computers job this summer to earn the last third and get some more experience in software and hardware maintenance.
