Propagating Canna Lilies from seed to plant in 12 (or so) weeks

I have a few videos about the propagating Cannas from seed, however this one shows the different stages from Seed to Plant within 12 weeks, I actually got organised this time, something that doesn’t come natural to me.

Hello my friend! From Australia! I use a big pair of toe nail clippers to bite a piece off the seed shell. Cannas growing like mad here. Summer is very hot so far and only November!

Hey, I am so jealous that you guys are coming into your summer time, I cannot wait till we have better weather... another 6 months to go 🤨I tried a nail clipper but I guess the ones we get in Germany are not big enough 🙂 because I couldn't get a grip on the seed. I must have a look for bigger clippers.

Great video with perfect examples of different growth stages. I guess I will start with my canna seeds in Feb 2024. I read that putting them in HOT water gives an even higher success rate of germination for each single seed.

Hi i did it boiling water for about 30 seconds then cold water till you get the little white node then plant .the ones that did not germinate i put in a seed tray with compost after a while most of them germinated
