Hello Jochen! I do the exact same thing with my grasses. Tying them up works sooo much easier. I'm all for easy. If someone tells me...'take it easy', I say, 'hey...if it comes easy...I'll take it twice!'. 😁 And I use the hedge trimmer as well. Goes so much faster! I don't mulch mine though. Great idea btw. I have a burn barrel so in they go and poof! Mine aren't even sprouting yet. Probably not for another month maybe. Although, things are warming up really early this year. We're getting ready for the eclipse next week. Hopefully the weather co-operates. Take care guys!!!! Happy Easter/Spring!!
Hey Tammy, I hope all is good with you guys, I would love to have a burn barrel but we are not allowed to burn our garden waste here in Germany, so alternative use it will be and the mulch thing really works. And when it comes to easy, I am all there I love easy and cheap 😂. It has been sonnet here for the past few months, but it has been okay recently I just want some f...warmth I am done with the cold
When will my phyllostachys arusaclta spectabilis sprout?. Planted it last year. And my miscantis gigatus is close to a small bush will it eat it and its in a quite windy location will it still get massive? Love your jokes that sounds like they comme of an angry 14 year old 👍.
Thank you, It is the angry child in me LOL, The first Bamboos to sprout are my Fargesia scabrida and then all the other clumpers follow suite. The Phyllostachys start with my in late spring, so give it some time. Regarding the gigatus it could spread into the small bush, if you are worried about it, I would move the small bush, regarding the wind, it will still get big but could look a little untidy.
Love your videos Jochen looking forward to see how your bamboos do this year ❤
Thank you so much, some of them are starting to shoot out of the ground like crazy, there will be videos about it 🙂
