Mumbai boasts an extensive and bustling suburban railway network known as the Mumbai Suburban Railway, operated by Indian Railways. Renowned as one of the busiest commuter rail systems globally, it caters to the vast metropolitan region of Mumbai. The network comprises three primary lines: the Western Line, stretching from Churchgate to Dahanu Road; the Central Line, connecting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in the south to Kasara and Khopoli in the north and east; and the Harbour Line, branching off at Kurla and extending to destinations such as Chembur, Mankhurd, and Panvel. These local trains are an integral part of daily life for millions of Mumbaikars, facilitating swift and efficient transportation throughout the city. However, for the latest information on schedules and infrastructure, it is advisable to consult local sources or official railway websites, as developments may have occurred since my last update in January 2022.

Need a video on India's biggest Suburban Railway Network that is Kolkata Suburban Network which has network length of 1501 KM compared to 390 KM in Mumbai. Lot of people think that Mumbai suburban network is the largest one in India, which is not true.
Local lines can be elevated at the same location, like a metro that way the capacity of local trains will double or lower lines can be used for more long route trains.
If it can be done in two levels, better to add high capacity system like trains/ metros rather than adding low capacity system like elevated road.

The issue would be maintenance depots, would those upper lines be connected with ramps so that they can access the ground depots? This would require a lot of land

Building road above rail lines, is perhaps a bad decision. It won't only be expensive but... It'll incentivise people to drive more, which will further, force others to make parking lots.
Bangladesh has already made elevated expressway above railline in Dhaka city.

I kinda agree that the elevated expressway in Dhaka is a marvellous project, but... I to some extent, doubt the profit. The infrastructure which is built by great hard work, perhaps won't be able to serve people as better as metro could have.
But oh yea... Everyone has different opinions.
This will make people use more personal vehicles than public transport.
They can make double the tracks by making the same lines above the existing lines connecting same stations.

Let's see what happens. I'm unaware of the effect which operations of Metro Line 2A and 7 caused to Western Line, so I won't say anything further on this.

Doubling the tracks instead of extra road is better, as the trains are already under maximum capacity. More trains with more frequency is needed.

Only more rail/metro lines should be made above tracks and all road development should be brought under the central government like you mentioned in your other video! No PWD and no State bodies should be allowed to make roads! This will solve all railway vs city/state issues!

what can be done is the way NHSRCL was created as separate body for semi and high speed, either a subsidiary body can be made which can take care of overhead highways and could possibly outsource the maintains, then they could make excess control expressways, and possibly ad high speed trains like RRTS, with 4-7 km distance between stops.
it will take more time then usual, but if railways itself takes the initiative to build and go beyond their capacity then it can be achieved.
Underground tunnels (like metro 3) might be more practical and less intrusive to the railways, and be easier for NHAI both to construct the highways as well as maintain them under the railways infrastructure without intruding upon railway property.

Mumbai can never be recognized as a global city as long as so many slums exist. Why can Mumbai and India not learn from Singapore how to first build alternative accommodation for slum dwellers and then make it mandatory for them to relocate? They are squatting on state land, and it is illegal.
That's why Navi Mumbai was built. Slums exists due to capitalism . Slum problem will decrease slowly as India becomes more wealthier . Even USA has homeless people .

we can make elevated railline which can run skipping 3-5 station like express metro.
Kolkata suburban railway ka coverage 4-5 times zyada hai....upar se there are about 20 lines distinctly.
Howrah, Sealdah, Shalimar, Kolkata, Santragachi ,Dankuni , Dumdum jn are major stations serving Kolkata.
There are many triple and quadraple sections in Kolkata suburban railway also

Refineries in the Trombay region can be reorganised to be located outside of the salsette island, maybe near kharghar it will free up a huge chunk of land.
Government can redevelop Mankhurd area similar to how china did it and create places for working to avoid them becoming vertical slums. Mumbai can also go for land reclamation projects on its eastern coast near mazgaon, in the end whatever change will happen it will require a ton of money.
There are many small issues plaguing mumbai solely due to its corruption and bureaucracy [ th-cam.com/video/c3_kzDOXWOI/w-d-xo.html ], if the govt wanted it could set up an authority above all of these for the replanning of mumbai.

The metro rakes which is to be delivered in Indore and Bhopal, is already the same as Singapore Metro : It is Alstom Movia. India is already doing this.
Increasing metro speed is not required coz here the stations are very near and many turns are also present in route.

In Bangladesh Dhaka elevated express way made above dhaka-tongi rail section so It's hard but possible to make a fly over above rail way line in India.
Rather than creating a freeway above the existing rail network in MMR and its nearby area, CR can think of creating two storey rail lines. Like some trains will run on the ground floor and the rest of the trains will run on the first floor. Which will eventually accommodate more passengers and will ease the rush or burden on local trains. As travel through the freeway is definitely more expensive than a train. What are your views on this ?

Idea bura Hai. Mumbai and Delhi is having best public transport System in India due to Rails. Government in Abroad like London are banning cars due to traffic congestion. Bangalore is also planning to ban cars due to traffic congestion.
Your entire video promotes this new road, but fails to address redundancy. Why build a road when an existing train system could likely handle the traffic?

take it this way what people are really get scared of is the loss of life.. any train accident with freeway going on top of the tracks... it might be hard to imagine but it would be a nightmare the amount of dying, rescue operations the transportation of entire city coming to standstill.. now i know people might say nagpur has metro and road built on top of each other and yes while that is true, its not something that can be replicated to large scale network.. plus metro is different from EMU used in Mumbai... unless u replace sub-urban railways with metro this is not a realistic proposition... and what i meant by scale earlier was link to people carrying capacity which is far less for metro vs EMU's
