Yes, while there may not be laws targeting her directly that dosent make it any less dangerous. People still might want to harm her so how is it still safe for her there? Your reporting on this issue and posting these positive vibes are great for our community. There are fewer transgender women than most people believe. Especially older trans women or transgender people in general in the public eye. There is a significant number of us, however perhaps too few for most people to even have the opportunity to get to know. People fear what they don’t understand.
Take the crazies out there with the idea that a PG rated drag show is harmful. To me, acting, singing, dancing or performing to entertain an audience in a nonviolent way, does not seem the same as adult men and women dressed up in costumes, violently fighting, wrestling and basically beating each other up. It seems hypocritical to me that kids are allowed in the audience to cheer on such wrestling “matches”. America has made this violent sport so popular that dolls are made hulk?.. (there are many more names) of the best sellers for children to play with. I’m not hating, it is what it is.
My only wish is that when I was 10 years old someone could have helped me with my dysphoria issue. I waited until I was 55 to get help.. 15 years later I’m a changed women and with that many years sober..

Many people don't care what other adults' sensuality is. But don't force it on kids! Before all of this pushing homosexuality and Trans issues in our faces, gender dystopia was a rare condition among young people. Again, adults have the right to deal with their sexuality issues as long as others aren't harmed. But children simply lack the judgment and maturity to make judgements along those lines. And yes, I live in Tennessee. No one is "oppressing" Trans and gay people.... Just shut up and leave us and the under eighteen year olds alone!

I hope she is doing well, whatever she decided! I was born and raised in east tennessee. If you're straight, cis, white and well enough off to maintain car maintenance, its a beautiful state. But the majority of people (at least the ones who vote) are so hateful. I left as soon as i turned 18. Never ever going back, and ill be taking any inheritance from family and spend it another state. Screw that state.
List of reasons to leave TN and never look back:
Next to no public transit, and the areas where there are transit, it's super spotty.
Difficulty finding dentists and any kind of specialist.
Hospitals too far away from small towns. You may have to pay a crap ton of money for a helicopter ride.
Oh, did i mention that their medicaid coverage is so restricted that most people don't qualify?
And minimum wage is still 7.25.
Fire departments not covering your rural area, so you have to wait for the volunteer FD
Should I go on? This isn't even mentioning politics, religion, culture... job opportunities...
There is so much better out there. Every state/country has its negatives, but TN is topping the charts of worst states to live in for many reasons.
Then friggin leave.
