I raised 10 children in our country home. I loved doing everything the old fashioned way. We had a hand pump in the bathroom to pump all our water. We boiled it on the woodstove to bathe, do dishes etc. The kids brought wood in at night after school. We had a beautiful antique cook stove for baking. There was an outhouse incase of emergencies. We added water to the back of our indoor toilet to flush it. It was a life that taught my children to work hard for what they wanted or needed. My youngest is 19 ,my oldest is 36.. Im alone now , in a mother in law suite attached to the old homestead, which my daughter and her family own now. I still prefer the simplicity of the " off grid" lifestyle. I use the outhouse. I heat with wood. I carry my water from the main house. I loved being a homemaker. I raised my children badically alone , it certainly was a character building life. ❤
I LOVE this so much. I came home to be with my two babies in 2021 after getting out of the navy. Now we have four children all together my youngest just turned one and my husband eldest is 11 she came to live w us in 2022 from the phillipines. (My husband is fillipino also,) Sometimes I have to remember to not put the homemaking above my kiddos. Today my middle two threw a fit for a minute because I turned off the tvs… we read books for maybe 20 or so mi utes went outside and drew w chalks in the driveway and then took a walk around the block w the one year old in the stroller. Now everyone’s happy and taking a nap including the eldest aha! (Sleeping w her lil sis our 2 yr old who’s basically the middle child,) and now that the home is calm before dinner I can prep dinner and tidy my room and stuff. I can’t imagine having the stress of still being in the navy and then having to come home to my second job which is MORE important only to feel the power struggle still of it always being on the back burner bc I can’t give it the proper time it needs. I’m not saying other working moms can’t do this but I certainly could NOT especially NOT in the navy. That profession although I loved it before children definitely sucks all the natural feminine energy from me 😢🙃👍
Who taught you that being a homemaker will make your husband cheat? If this is born from experience I'm sorry that you had a bad experience but since I've been a stay at home wife/mother my husband is WAY happier! Being in the Christian community I can only say what I observe which is (mainly) wholesome wives who are full of fun and happy husbands! I'm not from a church background! I got saved 7 years ago...I was brought up atheist and fiercely feminist. My life is sweet and peaceful now, even with 3 kids. I've got time and space for everything that needs to be done...plus home educating the youngest. I wouldn't change anything and am thankful!
