My favorites - In no order: Heathrow (Seminole county), Windermere, Dr. Philips, Lake Nona, Minneola (Lake county), Champions Gate, Winter Park... There are more, but for me, living out on the edge of the metro is much better than being in it... as in stuck in it.

If you buy a newly built home your insurance won't be that much. Either way Florida is not what it was 20 years ago. Cost of living is going up, wacky politics are taking over and with these hurricanes if your house gets hit bad then absolutely your premium will go up. It's a crapshoot.
I'm paying about $2,800 a year now with a new roof and all new inspections. I has gone up in the last few years. I used to pay less than $1,000 in 2016.
winter park probably got a c plus because of the surrounding areas near johns young parkway and Colonial and pine hill I drive through these areas almost every day, not too pretty
Heathrow is far from downtown Orlando and I-4 is a disaster during rush hour. I live in the outskirts of Winter Park and prefer to be more centrally located.
Lake Nona has great schools, options for private or public, has new restaurants and stores being opened every month, and is hobo/crime free. I have no clue how it did not make this list, Ken has covered it on multiple best places to live videos prior, I would take this list with a very big grain of salt.
There are endless possibilities for employment for maintenance engineers with all of the hotels, hospitals, etc. but the pay isn’t great. Unless he has special certifications starting wages are around $20.00 an hour at best.

Schools are not good in Winter Garden or Windermere area. There is a new school that is not even a year old and had 4 social media threats. You can read about it in the Observer in the April issue at the end of the month. Florida has a serious teacher shortage and pays very poor. Schools should not be rated high in Horizon West . Kids are ruining businesses in Hamlins area. Marco pizza had to put locks on the bathrooms and you need a key to get in the bathrooms. McDonald’s is filled with children under 15 years old and no parents at all. Parents do not watch their kids at all. The manager at McDonald’s yells at the kids to shut up. The beer breweries have kids. Adults are lacking places to go to without kids. Schools are horrible and overcrowded here and cannot find teachers who speak Portuguese because they pay $15
That’s so true ! Horizon west is pricey but the schools are not that well ! And there are overcrowded ! I think horizon west is going down hill because it’s not organized as they sell it ! So ppl before move take a look first !
Who the F told you Winter Garden and Windermere schools suck my son goes to Horizon High been Winter Garden since Elementary and they're the best the only issue is because everyone wants to move to the area is over crowding a bit but there literally building a school a year

Families are moving out of the area due to high rent and moving to other places. You need an income of $100,000 in order to rent in Winter Garden now. Many teachers lost their jobs. Pine Hills had several teacher openings but nobody wants to teach in the high crime areas. They said kids are either going to private schools or being homeschooled but the students did not return to the schools. Demographically the area is changing.

That means there are less students in school this year compared to last year. Students are not really learning in the public schools in Orlando. Students cannot receive less than 50 points on their tests that they failed. So students are given a 70% even though they failed or bombed the test. It’s so sad. Waterleigh had new subdivisions being built and it’s hard to sell a house there. Avalon road is a single lane road and traffic is bad on Avalon . Rent is high and chased families out of the area. I see U haul trucks weekly. Public schools are not good here at all. Teachers are leaving because the pay is low and cannot pay their bills. Parents are driving teachers away. Parents think they know more than teachers. Parents email teachers and want communication from teachers daily. Parents are telling teachers how to do their jobs. Teachers are off the clock after school and will not return emails to parents on their personal time. Kids are being homeschooled or going to private schools. So many students do not know how to read here.
No way Winter Park is more expensive than Dr. Phillips . Winter Park far outshines Dr. P for location alone, and the train runs through WP. It's a shame the recession of 08 happened because Orlando was in the process of building condos in the downtown area. I really like Orlando, and hopefully, the city can get back to doing its own thing and not depend on Disney. The Little Vietnam area has real potential, IMO. Orlando is way better than Tampa, IMO. Just Zillow Winter Park and then Dr. Phillips, and you'll see what I'm talking about.
its a blessing that Otown was building 4 massive condos in 08😂. The house I bought was valued at over 400k and got it for 270 in 2013😂. I live in walking distance to lil vietnam and the gay publix 😂. WP and Dr P are filled with keeping up with the Jones people, very superficial.

As someone who lives in Horizon West, I’m confused by a B+ for Nightlife. Everything closes at 10 PM 😂
There's an underground swingers club in HW. Thats why it got a high mark.

JYP and Colonial is not near Winter Park. Its near College Park.
Pine Hills is not that close to Winter Park. You might be thinking of Rosemont.

There are some sketchy areas outside of downtown Winter Park. Most of these TH-camrs only concentrate on downtown Winter Park
