I lived right off Michigan Ave on 26th street when Lethal Weapon 3 was filmed and my parents took me to the set so we could see the building getting blown up. It was so cool. Orlando back in the late 80s and all the 90s was a awesome time to be a kid and teen.
Awesome video. Did not know the facts regarding the lakes and how the city name Orlando and the city of beautiful were established. Thanks for sharing!
As a fellow Michigander and soon hoping to be a Floridian, I absolutely love your videos, Ken! So informative and they really reflect your love of the City Beautiful!
I had no clue you could see launches from Orlando. I'm over at the Cape and see launches all the time from the front yard whether with a coffee or a beer. . . Just depends on the time of day.
What a great video! We're debating between relocating to Greenville,SC or Orlando next year. the future looks limitless for Orlando in terms of jobs, housing and entertainment/recreation options
Excellent video! As a 30+ year area resident nothing has changed and EVERYTHING has changed. Orlando is constantly refreshing itself as it expands and evolves. Keep up the good work.
It was funny Ken, I did my basic training at the Orlando Naval Base back in 1986. Kind of sad though, but most of the Naval bases that I was at have since decommissioned.
I went to a small private school in Michigan. It ended up closing my senior year. Sort of like that. Can’t exactly go back to my 20th reunion at a school that doesn’t exist 😢
I have been in CenFlo coming up on 4 years this coming October moving all the way from frozen tundra Wisconsin and I haven't looked back since. I moved to Kissimmee first and Orlando afterward was easily the best decision I could have ever made and I have never thought about moving back up to the Midwest and I never will again. Florida is the way of life. Florida is life. I-4 and it's 60MPH slow speed limit causing continuous traffic congestion 7 days a week from Universal and Kirkland + Sand Lake Road and International Drive through Polk County in both directions is nerve-racking, but if you can put up with that, you'll be an official Floridian/Central Floridian.
There is a tree in DT Orlando, kinds of near the back side of Wall St., Its like a middle alley and I believe the road is brick and I believe its at a lawyer office . This Oak tree is like 30 ft around. I assumed it was the oldest tree in DT Orlando
I live in Winter Springs and there were a few things you mentioned I didn't know about Orlando. I work at Orlando International Airport, visit Disney World more often, but rarely come to downtown Orlando, unless I'm dropping off or picking up when I drive for Lyft.
I used to rollerblade around Lake Enola. The tighter the lycra outfit, the less likely to get stopped by the police. Matchbox 20 started in Orlando. (I used to work with Rob Thomas' mother.)
Thanks Ken, you might want to have a brief "pop-up" of a Florida map during one of your videos when you mention Central Florida that outlines those counties. Just a thought- Central Florida was always a vague description for me.
I have an 8 yr boy and an 11 yr old daughter, I'd like to be by some nice parks, within walking and biking range. What areas would you recommend or what video to watch?
Hi Ken I'm going to have my son reach out to you to buy a condo in Orlando He's a UCF student Maybe do a show on first time condos / homes for students graduating UCF looking to move to Orlando!
@@kenpozek a lot of let's say interesting people between the other college students and locals. My neighbor used to joke that there was something in the water that made you dumb yet well endowed.
It’s sad cause Orlando was so affordable when I first moved there right before COVID. Inflation has really hit the city hard and I don’t see how those Disney employees can afford it.
It’s so sad that Downtown Orlando is not able to get high-rise Skyscrapers built on it, I would love to see the city with a noticeable landmark from afar.
If u want to no what it's really like living in Orlando talk to people who live here and are working 2 to 3 jobs to survive...and have to deal with the daily traffic fatalities because there is no enforcement of traffic laws...these videos are nothing but BS if u have money u have can afford to live the heavenly dream...I've been living here 50 years in a nut shell we have all of the problems other cities have it just doesn't snow....my favorite line is Walt Disney didn't come here to live...nobody has ever had an answer to that..
I agree. I've been in Orlando since 1958 and all the growth post WDW in 1972 has primarily benefited the wealthy, the developers, the politicians, and the large corporations. WDW has never been a good corporate member of the Orlando statistical area. There are a ton of available jobs in Orlando, but those jobs have always been low-income jobs.

Loving Orlando !!! Went to Margaritaville in Kissimmee last night. Every week we find something to do. Beautiful place
Always something new! Glad you’re loving it

Thanks
The 5 county area. Orange, Osceola, Lake, Polk, Seminole. Some include Volusia county as the 6th
