    I've totally refreshed my 3520 with 7th gen i7 that I got for free and am using it now. It was completely dead / would not post due to a corrupt bios when I got it. I used a old flash drive and I was able to do the Dell bios recovery procedure. Installed a new keyboard, new thermal paste, replaced the battery, fresh bios battery, upgraded to 32 GB ram and a 1 TB NVME SSD.

      These laptops are great machines. Upgradable and repairable make them have a longer longevity than other laptops. I plan on using the precision models for the foreseeable future.

    Man how’s my luck, just been looking at a 2nd hand one to use for 3D printing, blender and college work, and you had it all.
    Thankyou for doing this vid in it 🙏🏻👍🏻

      No problem. This one works great for those tasks as it's designed for memory intensive applications, including 3D imaging and CAD. If you need anything else, let me know.

    So, is this a good computer for basic computing in 2024? Does the keyboard area have some bounce or flex in your particular unit?

      This computer can actually do more than basic computing, I've been able to run 3D modeling software, some games, a flight simulator, and more with this machine. Typing on this keyboard is good similar to other latitude and precision models, the keyboard doesn't really flex either and the travel is good for a laptop.

    Are those new? How they compare to thinkpad?

      The model I have in particular is around 6 years old, released in 2017. I would say it's a solid computer for business and home use, with some light gaming. Unfortunately, I don't own many ThinkPads except the Thinkpad T420. If you want to compare the precision to the T420, I'd say go with the precision.

    Years of experience with Dell's and the hinges only get loose / sloppy over time. Just have to remove the bottom lid and tighten the hinge screws and perfect.

      @Martin-NT  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have noticed that with the hinges. I believe you can order a replacement hinge on eBay for a few bucks if it does break and it shouldn't be too complex to repair it.

      Where are the hinge screws in this laptop? Are you referring to the ones visible on the outside?

    • @Martin-NT
      @Martin-NT  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lloritoovidexequield.8609 Yes, the hinges are visible on the outside of the laptop and are covered by those two rectangular covers.

      @@Martin-NT I had a hinge break on an old HP and it wasn't too bad to replace. For the hinge screws probably a fresh application of medium strength thread locker would probably help but I don't usually bother.

      @@Martin-NT I didn't see any rectangular covers? The screws near the power outlet, etc near the back of the laptop are visible, or are we talking about internal screws?

    Can it run fortnite

      I don't have any experience with Fortnite, however, I think it will work on low to medium settings. This is meant as a mobile workstation and not gaming machine.
