How to Use Your Yealink T3 Series IP Phone (Beginner User Tutorial)
The USB connector in these are designed to break and they are terrible. In my work place we have to replace a few of these every month, just because people break the connector by accident or by not being careful enough. Luckily we can get them replaced with Dell if they are under warranty. The problem is that the connector is way too long and sticks out far when connected to the laptop/tablet. They should have designed a 90 degree connector on the docking station cable to help with stress relief and make it stick out shorter.
I agree with you, the 90 degree design would help a lot. The connector is long but thin which makes it vulnerable to breakage easily.
Did you ever figure out what was wrong? I bought a c2225 (slightly slower model) and it printed the first few pages fine-ish there were shadows and slight yellow tint. After a maintenance internal cleaning it started spitting out blank pages... toner cartridges felt really light but no out of toner message so I figured I replace those and no effect. I did noticed the drums have an awful lot of toner on their surface... I would expect bad prints not blank pages... as far as error 74. Got that once after taking the back drum out to check it. Error went away after power cycle
It can be related to a faulty or bad ITB unit, it's a unit with a thin film with the purpose of moving the toner from the drums to the paper. That's what was wrong with my unit.
@Martin-NT i get that error all the time now. My maintenance menu says replace itb ad first suggestion... ugh I guess when these printers sit for a long time they print ok until you do a clean cycle
@@jzeman If you have a service provider I recommend calling them to diagnose the issue or contact another printer technician company.
Thanks TH-cam, for suggesting this video to me.
Oh maaannnn I miss these kind of phones if Smartphones become a privacy nightmare let's bring back landlines and pay phones to cut the bills in half my folks probably don't want something like this even though I think it's a good idea just in case of power outages.
Agreed! Landlines and IP Phones aren't going away anytime soon, especially IP Phones.
Seeing this as the first video without briefly covering some context is confusing
Sorry if that has confused you, I recommend you watch my previous phone system tour videos then as this series is to show the progress I've done to my home PBX.
are you phreaking kidding me!!!
Do you have discord :)
You can buy wall plates to mount phones on.
Nice thing with freePBX is you can run it on something as simple as a Raspberry Pi.
I have freepbx in my house for personal use. I never registered it with FreePBX. Have you registered your system and if so, did they give you any issues?
By registering, I'm assuming you mean register your instance with Sangoma. I haven't had any issues without registering it but to install commercial modules you must register. For homelab not registering it is fine.
Waiting to figure out how to reprogram my Cisco phones to SIP. Can’t get the phones to take the programming, very frustrating. Do I have to do reprogramming through free PBX because trying to reprogram via direct connect to a window computer does not seem to work. Even on the help sites there are some individuals with serious attitude issues like they are in god mode and seem annoyed at receiving questions. As for hooking up to the outside world I have a 4 port Grandstream FXO box. For external connection to the pots line, I have a Grandstream four port FXO adapter. The reason for this I’d that these older Cisco phones have (had?) a security exploit where people could hack into your network and into your computers on everything inside your home network. This adapter will also allow me to add a pair of two way radio interfaces to Pots line adapters to the system. This allows me to monitor what is going on with a radio network as well as allowing radios to contact me directly at my office. If you have any suggestions on reprogramming older Cisco phones, please share. It would be greatly appreciated!
Cisco phones on other PBX's instead of CUCM can be infuriating. I've registered my Cisco phones on FreePBX as I have the 3PCC verison.
Can you do a tutorial with setting up tandx with freepbx? That would be SICK!
Unfortunately I'm not enrolled in the TandmX network so I can't do that. I do remember trying to do it once but gave up after a while.
coolio
Have you ever tried to use a magic jack connected through a ata box to get outside lines 😎🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗😣😁
Nope, but theoretically that could work.
how do you set a custom tone for paging?
Please check the comments below as somebody asked the same question.
After years of running cisco, indecided to try freepbx 16 and what crap…. Every way I try and install it I run into some sort of issues at one point or another
FreePBX can be difficult to get set up if you are first starting with it. I recommend browsing the FreePBX forums and watching tutorials online. Chris from Crosstalk Solutions has an excellent series of videos on FreePBX for beginners.
hey amazing video, i would love to see how you did custom page sounds, i have freepbx set up an right now im just using the default beep tone and i really hate it lol.
You can upload a page tone through System Recordings and then set it through the Paging and Intercom tab.
@@Martin-NT thanks, i didn't know how easy that was lol
@@connorpearl9415 no problem
What did the poly phones do? Have not had very many issues with the ones I have
Well, Paging and Intercom does not work on it unless I set it into auto answer, and I've also had issues in the past where it would not place or end calls properly.
@@Martin-NT you have to put a few lines into the phones config files to get paging to work. The Polycom templates in the freepbx endpoint manger which I use for my community PBX has those but you can just add those by exporting the phones config and adding them and importing it again
@@captainchris2016 I see, thanks for letting me know. I'll look into this in the future.
Why name the extensions sta? That’s not descriptive what does it mean
To be honest, I don't really have a reason for having it named STA #, STA just stands for "station", such as station 310.
@@Martin-NTinteresting! Also just to tell you, don’t feel ashamed for being late for the 3.5 tour, take your time. ;)
@@_tylerkinney Thanks!
do you have a discord server?
I do but it's mainly inactive so I don't really advertise it or use it
about time lol but nice video, i should make one soon.
do you need to change anything on the cisco phones with the software like om the 7900 series or do the 3PCC ones work without a firmware change
The 3PCC phones do not need a firmware change. For the 79XX series, I believe you need to change the firmware to SIP for FreePBX but there are plugins like SCCP Manager that you can use. I don't have much experience with 79XX series phones though.
There’s a descriptive guide on TH-cam if you search “How to convert non 3pcc Cisco phone to 3pcc”
Great Video Martin! I love all of your FREEPBX videos!
Thanks for your feedback!
Apologies for the long overdue video, but here it is, FreePBX Home Phone System Tour 3.5! If you got questions, feel free to comment them below and I'll respond! We'll have a Mobile Workstation review video coming up soon as well so keep your eyes peeled for that. Hope you enjoy the video!
This is NOT a new upload, uploaded it as unlisted and forgot about it. Oops. Now fixed to be set as public. 🎉
Can i receive and make calls while travelling abroad on same number?
That will depends on your PBX and your configuration type. But yes, you can take this desk phone with you while travelling abroad.
@@Martin-NTpls suggest which pbx will be suitable and how to achieve this.
@@ishanaggarwal93 I recommend 3CX as it is simple to use and provision. I have a video on provisioning this phone with 3CX as well. If you provision to the cloud with their supported method, it will work anywhere with internet.
@@Martin-NT thanks for update. I guess 3cx needs sip number. But in tanzania, there only mobile or land line number. No sip provider. Can we use our existing mobile numbers in tanzania to connect to 3cx if its somehow possible?
@@ishanaggarwal93 I'm not sure, you may need to go with another service from another country

I used the 3PCC version to provision it.

@@Chrisalsersmith Yes
@@Martin-NT thanck you for telling me
Is it for gaming?
No, this computer is a "mobile workstation". Designed for business usage such as CAD, spreadsheets, and other things. It does have a discreet graphics card and I do use it to game a bit, however, no it is not meant for gaming. For more information, you can watch my full video on this workstation in my channel.
İ have this laptop but this not have backlight or i can't turn on this How turn on this(?
@@SinaLotfi-hn5rg It depends on the configuration your laptop shipped out with. If you don't see the backlight icon on the F10 key, it means your keyboard was not configured with a backlight. If it does, you can press the F10 by itself or simultaneously pressing the Fn key with the F10 key to toggle the backlight.
Thats not a Dual-Lite emergency light
It is, if you search up the Dual Lite LZ series you will get that model in the video.
@@Martin-NT Nope. That is a Yuyao Lixen emergency light. Dual-Lite LZs look similar, but 9 times out of 10, they are equipped with Spectron self diagnostics.
@@Martin-NT Also, Dual-Lite LZs have the indicators and test button on the right side of the unit, not on the bottom.
Alright, thanks for letting me know.
How did you exactly do the cloud hosting part?
You go with any cloud provider such as Linode or DigitalOcean. 3CX also has solutions for that as well.
@@Martin-NT And there aren't much videos for freepbx anyway, can you make a tutorial for it?
@@hariranormal5584 Can you let me know what you need assistance with? I can help with installation, provisioning, and some other things.
@@Martin-NT oh, I was just curious, when I search freepbx install videos the one video from crosstalk channel is so long it's like a cert course, there just doesn't seem to be quality content where they actually show a real life example for example take these 3 IP phones, one server with freepbx installed, and linking it to a VOIP sip Number or something. Just curious
tutorials for Freepbx?
I've totally refreshed my 3520 with 7th gen i7 that I got for free and am using it now. It was completely dead / would not post due to a corrupt bios when I got it. I used a old flash drive and I was able to do the Dell bios recovery procedure. Installed a new keyboard, new thermal paste, replaced the battery, fresh bios battery, upgraded to 32 GB ram and a 1 TB NVME SSD.
These laptops are great machines. Upgradable and repairable make them have a longer longevity than other laptops. I plan on using the precision models for the foreseeable future.
So, is this a good computer for basic computing in 2024? Does the keyboard area have some bounce or flex in your particular unit?
This computer can actually do more than basic computing, I've been able to run 3D modeling software, some games, a flight simulator, and more with this machine. Typing on this keyboard is good similar to other latitude and precision models, the keyboard doesn't really flex either and the travel is good for a laptop.
@@Martin-NT I see, thanks. =)

Let me know if your interested! MK Peterson
Hey there @IntercomEnthusiasts51, thanks for the offer. I'm not too keen on these Cisco phones as I've had a rocky relationship with them in the past, however, I am interested in expanding my current "paging/public address" system, right now I only have IP Phones as my paging endpoints but I would be more than happy to check out your amplifier. Thanks for reaching out!

No, I got the FreePBX ISO file from their official website. I am currently running Windows Server 2019 on my server and FreePBX is a virtual machine within Hyper-V.
are you saying you got this printer brand new off ebay for only $80??
Yes, I got it at that price excluding shipping. I believe the printer was purchased for a business but never got used and was sitting in storage for a while. By the time I got the product, the box was a bit beat up and the styrofoam inside was broken into pieces.

Years of experience with Dell's and the hinges only get loose / sloppy over time. Just have to remove the bottom lid and tighten the hinge screws and perfect.
I have noticed that with the hinges. I believe you can order a replacement hinge on eBay for a few bucks if it does break and it shouldn't be too complex to repair it.
Where are the hinge screws in this laptop? Are you referring to the ones visible on the outside?
@@lloritoovidexequield.8609 Yes, the hinges are visible on the outside of the laptop and are covered by those two rectangular covers.

FreePBX 16. Thanks @_tylerkinney for responding to this question!
Is there a way I can do it with a phone not listed like the ShoreTel 230?
