Some videos tell you how to set the option but not how to get to the option. You showed which buttons to push and what each option was and you were excellent showing how to setup the screen. And, finally, if you have two units, as I do, with one at the console and one at the bow, how would you set up your bow unit?
Hey Marty. We do we just forgot to add them in the video and put them on the sonar page. A lot to go through in one video. Also water temp is relative. It’s only surface temps. So unless you fish only shallow waters were they may stay relatively the same it’s only a frame of reference. We haven’t gotten around to updating via wifi yet. It’s a lot to produce these video. Just started them. We would set up the bow unit the same as the console and mainly use mapping and sonar at the front. Set them up via wifi network so they talk to each other

Thank you thank you thank you! I think you gave me the info I need to get what I want for the money I have available but I have a few questions just to make sure... but first let me tell you the back story.... I'm new to fish finders and I've already purchased a few used Lowrance products but I've gotten confused with transducer and networking compatibility issues. I ended up with an HDS 7 gen2 touch at the helm but didn't get maps or the side scan transducer so it only has 2D sonar. Then a friend gave me an elite 7ti for the deck but networking is an issue. However I did get the down scan transducer that I mounted to my trolling motor so I split that with the 2D which is great. So now I just purchased an Elite 9 Ti2 with the Active Imaging 3 in 1 transducer for the helm so I can have side/down/2D. Now here comes my questions... 1. Can the 7ti and the 9Ti2 network wirelessly? 2. Should I get the navionics card? (I live in Oxnard CA so I mostly fish on Lake Casitas and I also fish in CA and AZ. Again... great video... I feel like I have my head screwed on straight graph-wise with all the tips and I really think this will help me catch more fish so thanks.
Thank you for the kind words. the ti2 is the only one with wireless capabilities It's the next generation up from the Ti. They can share waypoints via nmea network but the sonar, mapping/down/side is only able to with the same generation. As far as mapping, in your area I couldn't give you the best answer. Navionics sonar chart has been up there with the best in recent year years. I would look into CMAP discover and reveal cards to see how they compare. As well along with the cmap genesis online in the social maps. As those would be True user data corrected. You're able to download them for free. You might be well off going into your local lowrance dealer closest to those lakes and ask what their guys run for mapping. In our area Navionics and cmap are the best two.
@@hookedntravel do you guys have any more content on this specific product, such as gps or other integrations? I’ve thought about swapping for another product but this video is definitely showing me what I’ve been doing wrong. Thanks!
We’re working on some more content. It takes along time to produce this type of content especially being so technical. Some video’s on other units will have similar features. So if we have another coming up in the future, it may apply to this unit as well.
Great video. Best one I've watched. I wish I had the silver tags on my transducer cables but they had been removed before I bought the boat. Two HDS7 Gen2 Touch units (bow and console) and one Elite Ti (stern). Four transducers. Not sure which is hooked to which except the Spotlight transducer that is hooked to the bow HDS7 and does have the silver tag.
You should be able to figure out which transducers by the lowrance website as well. They have the legacy transducers listed as well. We would normally figure out what year you bought everything at, anything newer than that you can eliminate. Also you can tell sometimes by the look and if they have a separate module box.
great video got one question for you i accidently erase my wireless client setting letters which is located in the wireless setting box it shows now no setting for wireless client, mode have been stored how do i reset or get the setting back.........
What do you recommend to improve image quality on these units in shallower waters? Sometimes, even as shallow as 10ft, my graph will get fuzzy for down and side imaging and it’s hard to read. Thanks in advance.
800khz is the best for 25’ or shallower for best definition. Once you step out to deeper than 25’ switch to 455khz (better penetration). Also you could be getting interference somewhere as well making it fuzzy. Hard to diagnose without sitting in your boat and seeing your graph.
Great video as always but my question is I run 3 Elite Ti2 units 1 at the bow and 2 at the console. 1 unit is not hooked to a transducer because it’s just used for mapping my other unit has a splitter so my unit can use the through hull transducer and use the 2 in 1 so which transducer do I choose in the installation segment ?
I have the 9TI and my base unit was just replaced under warranty I have the M/H transducer but don't seem to I believe the downscan. I have sonar and side but no downscan icon? Any ideas? Nevermind I figured out why I had 4 setup screens. two of them were the downscan just with different settings. But I only have 9 pallet color choices not 14 or more like you have. Just interesting how all of these are just a little different.
14 for traditional sonar and less for the down and sidescan options. The main one either way for traditional sonar is the brown bottom (white background).
I learned a ton from your video instructions. I have one question, all my numbering somehow went from the preferred black to orange. How the heck do I switch it back to black? Thank you
I recently bought a Ti2 7 from a buddy and he said everything worked but may have to update the transducer file. Figured it was nothing big. Turns out it’s some dreaded Sonar version 0.0.0 issue. Is there a known fix to this or did my buddy sell me a lemon?
The latest update for the ti2 is software version 20.0.1. If you're having problems. First try a soft reset, then I would try a full hard reset back to factory settings. Then try the update. Try those first then you might be able to know for sure.
@@bkormoski1 it’s a good unit for its price point and the transducer tech is better than what we had 5 years ago. Depending on your fishing style and what you want out of your fish finder, networking, dual sonar, forward facing sonar, you could look into an upgrade.
@@bkormoski1 the elite FS or you might be able to find the elite ti2 at a great price right now. You can’t run the active target on the elite ti2. Only elite FS (newest one). The elites can run the ai2 3 in 1 transducer. Has a lot the ability of the high end units. Touch screen, dual frequencies, and very user friendly!
I have an elite ti2 with AI 2in1 Ducer on the transom I use for down and side scan and also an hdi Ducer shooting through hull for 2D sonar. Is it correct to just select the AI 2in 1 Ducer in the installation settings? Thanks
I connected 2 transducers to this unit via a Y cable. My thinking was that i can utilize the 3-1 (which is what i bought extra) for the side scan, and the other skimmer type for the "at-speed" downscan. Is this something that works on the TI-2. Trying to learn about this. The previous owner had a side-scan ducer and mounted the skimmer to the trolling motor. Maybe he was not honest about weather this worked for him or not...
Lowrance Y-Cable gives you the ability to run an In-Hull transducer or a separate Skimmer style transducer. A Y-Cable is compatible with the LSS-2 Transducer and the Active Imaging 2-in-1 Transducer for your Side and Down Imaging. It has a single male 9-Pin plug on the unit side and splits off to a 7-Pin female for your 2D sonar and a 9-Pin plug for your Side and Down Imaging transducer.
Two questions. I recently purchased an Elite 9 ti2. I've had it in the water a couple of time to play with it. First, can I add contour depth lines? My lake is showing a contour line of 8 feet and that is it. I'd like one foot contour lines. Secondly, I have a Navionics card in my older Elite HDI. Navionics support says it will work with my ti2. But, I can not seem to get it to recognize it.
Yes you can do the cmap genesis live or the navionics sonar chart live. With navionics sonarchart live you need an paid active subscription on most cards. The cmap génesis live is saved on your sd card as a .gsd file. It’s free. To turn it on, it’s on the overlay feature through the drop down menu. Make sure the chart side is selected. As far as the navionics card not being recognized or reading. Sometimes, inserting it in and out can get the card to read or prompt. Make sure it’s selected in the drop down for the chart source and select navionics. Also make sure fishNchip or sonarchart is selected on the options to allow the best detail if the 1’ contours are downloaded. It may be resorting straight to base map right away when turned on. A hard restart or soft reset. At the end of the day, it could very well be the strips on the sd card worn out and one connecting strip not reading. It’s hard to say with me not having the unit in hand and trying it in another unit as well. Hopefully this helps. Please subscribe and share. Tightlines
How do i change my trail data points? When i am going slow in my boat the trail thickens and i cannot see where i am. When trying to position the boat over a reef. It feels like there should be a way of reducing the number of data points the unit is capturing... I have a video
Hi I'm a new subscriber. Just put my navionics card and my lowrance elite 9 TI. But if I touch the screen it's not giving me a waypoint how do I remedy that ? and yes I updated it on my main computer before I put it in
You can double tap the waypoint button and it will add an icon right away on your position without a screen coming up. When you hit the waypoint just once a window pops up to set a waypoint at your current positions and if you have the cursor on it will set the waypoint where the cross hairs are set at.
@@hookedntravel going back this morning the icon wasn't there.. I looked into my settings somehow my 3D was on. Once I turned that off the cursor came back on...ty
Any idea why my chart is now tracking my course with a big shaded area around the cursor? I have tried all kinds of settings and I can't seem to get rid of it.
Excellent Video but can someone help me with why I can not see channel markers ! No matter what I try, no red or green channel markers or full screen water levels are present.I’m sure it’s going to be something easy, but I can’t find it and Lowrance was no help.I tried through the installed c-map and my Navionics chip I have used in my previous boat with no issues. Thanks In advance.
I have the same issue. My understanding is that its because there is only a base map loaded on the unit. An upgraded map is necessary. But I maybe wrong
Do you have a navionics card or another data card on it? Have you installed all the data on it? Most card will load when inserted. Also make sure you have the correct Map selected. The way to turn on the contours should already be on. But to get the higher detail, go into chart options and turn on the higher detail.
thats interfaced nmea connections for the Motorguide trolling motors or the mercury motors. Usually in the settings for your nmea connections. Go to System -> advanced-> Features-> Turn off Autopilots and autopilot panels. That should do the trick. If thats not the exact way, let me know. I only have an HDS infront of me right now, it should be similar with the elite Ti
If only apple made fish finders, they’d be way expensive tho. I just got the elite 5ti and man this video would have helped a lot. I was in 180ft of water and it was saying it was 10-20ft deep😂

Thank you so much!
Great Video Tutorial
thank you! glad you enjoyed it
thanks for sharing some useful features and... having a nice dog... I have just boght this fishinder and I have two geat danes
And I also have wifi.
You should be able to figure out which transducers by the lowrance website as well. They have the legacy transducers listed as well. We would normally figure out what year you bought everything at, anything newer than that you can eliminate. Also you can tell sometimes by the look and if they have a separate module box.
@@hookedntravel Thanks for the reply. Will do.
great video got one question for you i accidently erase my wireless client setting letters which is located in the wireless setting box it shows now no setting for wireless client, mode have been stored how do i reset or get the setting back.........
Oh my!! Thank you!!! My boat is out for routine maintenance and I'm using tnis tomorrow!!
Good video. My Lowrance Ti2-7 is showing speed in KPH. How do I change it to MPH?
The Best 👍i don’t speek Englisch but your video help my! Danke 👍
Wow!
Best ever.
Thanks
Awesome
Hi I have just bought DHS live 9 And I'll put a one kW Tm275Lhw I would like a few tips on how to set it up for deep water
Life saver thanks bro
Any time!
Great video mate
Great job I can’t get contour lines to show up on my lowrance elite ti 9 on my navionics tried updating card that didn’t work any advice thanks
Awesome info
Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Beautiful job…thank you
Great video thank you
I have the 9TI and my base unit was just replaced under warranty I have the M/H transducer but don't seem to I believe the downscan.
Thank you
are you talking about the display data on the screen? or in the menu's?
@@hookedntravel I figured it out… I had accidentally hit the night mode button
@@MrDeputy83 perfect. Glad you caught it. You'll know for next time! Tightlines
Is the transducer you talk about with 3 in 1 the active imaging transducer and you select total scan mh?
the total scan and the Active Imaging 3 in 1 transducer are completely different transducers. The totalscan has the DI, SI and sonar in one
Try those first then you might be able to know for sure.
can I connect the Ti2 to a Motorguide xi3 and use all the nav features
Yes you can. You must connect via nmea system and get the motorguide gateway for the connection
@@hookedntravel What do you think of the Hook 2 triple shot?
@@bkormoski1 it’s a good unit for its price point and the transducer tech is better than what we had 5 years ago. Depending on your fishing style and what you want out of your fish finder, networking, dual sonar, forward facing sonar, you could look into an upgrade.
@@hookedntravel I do mostly crappie fishing. I slow troll and single pole mostly. what would be the best bang for the buck In your mind?
It has a single male 9-Pin plug on the unit side and splits off to a 7-Pin female for your 2D sonar and a 9-Pin plug for your Side and Down Imaging transducer.
if I think it's the right y cable you have for the elite ti?
So the Y is “not” compatible with the 3-1 then you think…
Is there anyway you can get downscan on a 9ti or do you have to have a 9ti2?
Two questions. I recently purchased an Elite 9 ti2. I've had it in the water a couple of time to play with it. First, can I add contour depth lines? My lake is showing a contour line of 8 feet and that is it. I'd like one foot contour lines. Secondly, I have a Navionics card in my older Elite HDI. Navionics support says it will work with my ti2. But, I can not seem to get it to recognize it.
By the way, great tutorial.

But if I touch the screen it's not giving me a waypoint how do I remedy that ? and yes I updated it on my main computer before I put it in
Did you hit the waypoint icon? Did the cross hairs show up when you touched the screen?
@@hookedntravel Yes. And no it didn't show 6
Up
You can double tap the waypoint button and it will add an icon right away on your position without a screen coming up.
Around the boat Icon? You most likely have structurescan overlay on.
You need to update your Navionics card or buy new one
How do I get the contour lines to show up on my Lowrance TI chart
Do you have a navionics card or another data card on it? Have you installed all the data on it? Most card will load when inserted. Also make sure you have the correct Map selected. The way to turn on the contours should already be on. But to get the higher detail, go into chart options and turn on the higher detail.
@@hookedntravel I don't have a card in it and not sure what card I need
@@hookedntravel Moved it from navionics to Lowrance and the contour lines popped up.
How do you get that bar off the left side of the screen that says trolling and other stuff
thats interfaced nmea connections for the Motorguide trolling motors or the mercury motors. Usually in the settings for your nmea connections. Go to System -> advanced-> Features-> Turn off Autopilots and autopilot panels. That should do the trick.
If thats not the exact way, let me know. I only have an HDS infront of me right now, it should be similar with the elite Ti
How do I find the side bar tool so it will disappear after a few sec/min Thank you
its in the settings in the menu options. in system and advanced. Should be around user interface, its in the auto hide menu feature.
If only apple made fish finders, they’d be way expensive tho. I just got the elite 5ti and man this video would have helped a lot. I was in 180ft of water and it was saying it was 10-20ft deep😂
