This was my hardest boss fight in the game. Took me 4 times to beat Monsoon. Relax, it was your first time playing against Monsoon. You experiment to see what works and what doesn't, and review what happened if you die. Just ignore the negative comments, I will bet 100$ that they died in at least 1 boss fight. Keep doing what you're doing. I'm such a fan of the game that my TH-cam channel was made on it. I've even made several Armstrong ads. I'd love to see what you'll make after you beat Armstrong.

His arm reaching like 100 feet is what got me frustrated. Armstrong is 2nd hardest due to his HP and his damage per hits. Then Bladewolf at third with his quick attacks.

I love the fact Monsoon says something different depending on how you play. "Do as you please" If you used EMP grenades and played badly "Stop! Stop it!" If you played well without using EMP grenades

Whenever Raiden said he protected the weak,I always saw how blanketed that statement was,considering he's slashing through hundreds of things weaker then him,I feel a better statement would be to protect the innocent,people who only want to live happy peaceful lives
hurting others in the process, truly no one had the right to feel over other people but at least Raiden had another purpose other than just him or his family, although to be honest his family is never shown in MGRR, and there is no development either, the game couldve been better on that aspect.

While I never died to this guy, I can definitely see how you would have trouble with him, his mechanic of splitting his body is kinda wierd and the precise head attack you have to get can be annoying, and his smoke attacks are just downright BS, so all in all, I cant blame you, good fight

Not everyone can instantly learn a game like said ' hardcore' people. When I first got into this fight, I really enjoyed it a lot maybe because I was kinda spoiled what I had to do so instead of having a learning curve I just did what I was told, kinda sad because to me; Monsoon is the fight thst tests you to see if you're ready to play the way in a more *serious* way. People say that's Sam but tbh, it's only 2 more fights before that? Monsoon really makes it hard if you still don't have a sense of parrying( I play on PC). The one that actually seemed difficult to me was Bladewolf because THERE I had almost no idea how to parry but *boy* , when I learned the trick, fight was a piece of cake, and after that i didn't even died to Mistral, so yeah. This video may be old but to all the people that have hard times to beat him, practice parrying and also, enjoy the fight that's why you're playing. Cheers!
hey it wasnt easy on my first time lol believe me, but hey we learn and get better, the key is not to quit, besides what good is a boss without the potential to whoop your ass. thatll be no fun, and you feel a great sense of achievement when you beat him, the boss actually tests your limits and prepare you for the next levels, good job bro😀
So... Just so everyone complaining knows, best buy sells elgato capture cards for a little over $200. Buy one and make your own video or take your broke asses to another video of this boss fight. There are quite a few on here

Some of the Monsoon dialogue just seems... Poorly planned. Monsoon: "Quit lying to yourself, you like war just like we do!" Raiden: "Yeah you're right." Monsoon: "...I misjudged you; you are like us after all!" ...
Raiden does all this weird "hurt me mooooore" shit here, but was disabled for 80% of MGS4 after ONE fight with regular ass vamp with no power ups since MGS2 while already being a cyborg. Make that mke sense.
The problem here is you're not locking onto Monsoon, so you're not able to get a good grasp or orientation of where to defend or where he's coming from; sorry but even I didn't struggle this badly on my first attempt.

Like the attacks that launch you then grab you...I dont know how you manage to parry in the air. Or parry enemies like the Sliders that attack down from the air. It didnt work for me once the entire game until I had to give up because I also cant parry fast enough to not get combo'd by Sam. I can block his first hit...then im done for when he follows up with four more. I never really played this whole game genre before and man...I think you need to be on meth to have reflexes to beat this game.

YOU GOTTA FIGHT MISTRAL FIRST 3. There is only 1 box that gives a repair part. 4. I only beat it since I upgraded my blade to the max I could (level 3 on everything)
