There is something about the writting and the music in this game that keeps you mesmerized in it, no matter how many times you have seen it or heard it before.
Girl's transformation sequence is hilarious. Gotta wonder at the design here. Which of the surgeons that cyberized her was like "Yo, we gonna make it so you can have multiple arms but you can only get them by virtue of your drones tearing off their own arms and shoving them into these ports on your body, which is going to feel a lot like getting a certain something else shoved into you"?
Man, this game deserves accolades for just how perfectly it ties the music into the boss fights. This battle in particular is just phenomenal in that regard.
6:40 I’ve finally found what I was looking for A place where I can be without remorse Because I am a stranger who has found An even stranger war I’ve finally found what I was looking for Here I come La chaleur me dérange Mais c’est le grincement du bateau qui m’a réveillée I sharpen the knife And look down upon the bay For all of my life A stranger I remain I’ve come here from nowhere Across the unforgiving sea Drifting further and further It’s all becoming clear to me But violent winds are upon us and I can’t sleep Internal temperatures rising And all the voices won’t recede
One of the things that bugs me is that Raiden, Wolf (upgraded version), Sam, Monsoon and Sundowner all get some sort of mouthguard or visor, but Mistral never got one. They could have easily had those arm orbs detach a hand or two and placed it over her mouth or face which still would've kept with the theme of the arms. I blame Sundowner for this. Dude activates a faceguard in his fight, then a visor in the second stage of it. Clearly he took one that belonged to Mistral.
I was redoing the Mistral fight for S rank on Coup d'etat (which I didn't get because I stealthed a battle, only got A) and actually managed to cut her so she didn't explode The result: Raiden standing in front of a frozen, headless statue of Mistral, listening to her on the phone in the middle of a burning refinery Favorite image so far from MGR and that's saying sonething
Only a few days ago I played this game for the first time. This is the first boss I got hyped to fight, exited during the battle, and also just amazed at the end of it. I just got past monsoon. Haven't learned how to block or parry yet, though. I think I mastered offense, at least.
The glare she gives right before the start does something in my head. The glimmer in her eye, that elongated breath. It's like a mental snapshot that I wasn't even aware I had taken until it just popped up in my head a few years later and made me replay the game. Such a fun experience and, even though she's just the first, Mistral manages to be just as memorable as the other winds of destruction.
9:41 I know there's no way this could've been planned, but I was briefly convinced that the "killer4hire4 is now offline" notification was from the game itself. Something like that would feel right at home in a Metal Gear game.

The fight against Ray was amazing, and the fight against Bladewolf was also an experience. But this fight. This was the fight that let you know this game was going to have legendary bosses. And when the dynamic soundtrack kicked in with the vocals for the final part of the fight, you knew you made the right purchase in this game.
You didn't have to do bladewolf like that
@@Thetiredturtle672 The game allowed the player to do Bladewolf like that. Ain't me.
Nah, Ray fight let you know more how's it gonna be. I mean you're fighting a 20 meters giant robot while having only a sword and you're still winning. Meanwhile you are also jumping on rockers and running on a wall of a building. Not to mention that epic soundtrack. Once you combine all of this you know that game's gonna be amazing

When I was playing playing this recently, the last phase felt less like a fight and more like a dance, eloquently trading blows until victory.
The last phase felt more like me mashing parry. So did the whole fight. PARRYYYYYYYYYGT

Mistral is a great character in my opinion, and I really like her backstory. She is one of the most enjoyable boss fights in the whole game.
Only a few days ago I played this game for the first time. This is the first boss I got hyped to fight, exited during the battle, and also just amazed at the end of it. I just got past monsoon. Haven't learned how to block or parry yet, though. I think I mastered offense, at least.

6:42 was the exact moment i fell in love with this game
“I protect the weak, and if I must kill to protect them, then so be it.” I like that line.
10:16 I love how that instrument ends off the song and the boss fight
This game is beyond its time! Very well designed.
