I agree this is great addition, I think more than anything else, entourage can make or break a rendering.

question @TheSketchUpEssentials how does the uv randomiser work with things like wood planks for big indoor open spaces like office work floors?

Quick question, if I used a feature like the auto generated vines, could this be ported over to unreal 5.3?

Damn, i mostly use Enscape for a quick decent quality render when i don't have the time for a V-ray. But i gave a try on D5 and oh boy that's feel so nice and way more optimized than Enscape, especially for adding lights + they also have an integrated plugin in Sketchup for live view. Honestly even the free version of D5 can be enough for a quick render.
And now most of client like video instead of just still image, D5 is also more convinient for this particular point. I think i will switch on D5 for few months now just to see how it turn. D5 is also so easy to learn.

Something is very wrong with D5
My RTX 4060ti is suddenly at 90% without open any File, just opening the software.
Everything after last Nvidia drivers update,

Not sure what everyone else is thinking, but AI seems to be on a path of elimination of people like us that just do renderings as a service. I remember in 1978 doing a presentation to my graphic design group by NASA Computer Graphics people. Some laughed, others thought it crude, which at the time was, others said computers would never be able to do what we do as designers and illustrators? What is interesting it is continuous new software ability in less than a decade now? From our standpoint-TIME- for turning renderings around has always been a key to business survival, but unlike you Justin, it takes up a lot of billable production time relearning or switching to the latest. Thanks to you, for keeping me up to date,🙂 I at least don't feel like a dinosaur?

I don't know - I'm just not seeing it at the moment with the way rendering and design itself works. Design is an iterative process that happens over the course of months with a ton of back and forth between the end user and the designer. While tools like this one do create images quickly, I've not yet seen anything that indicates an ability to do that with any level of precision. Even this tool seems to just be uploading an image and using it to either compare to the HDRIs already in D5's library or create a new HDRI image (I'm not sure which one it's doing).
Now is there a possibility that they'll figure out a way to automate the entire actual rendering process without fundamentally altering the design itself? THAT would be more interesting to me and maybe more of a red flag to people providing rendering as a service, but even then, I'd have to imagine this becomes more of a tool that lets you set up things like lighting and materials quickly rather than a removal of the person from the entire process.
That said, this whole technology is very new, so I guess no one REALLY knows where it will be in 3-5 years.
