    1) Wait AT LEAST 5 minutes after skincare to do your makeup. I wait more 15 mins and it helps lessen texture by letting the skincare products sink into skin
    2) For long lasting makeup, use setting spray before foundation, before powdering and after powdering. A total of 3 times, it works wonders for me as an oily skinned gal
    3) If anyone else struggles with straight lashes that do not want to curl try:
    - Using a hairdryer on your curlers before curling your eyelashes (wait until it’s only slightly warm, don’t want to burn yourself!)
    - Curling the ends of your lashes, not just the roots (I do roots, middle part then ends of lashes)
    - Using waterproof mascara. I thought it was impossible for my lashes to stay curled until I accidentally tried waterproof mascara and I haven’t looked back since. If you’re worried about having to remove it afterwards, use a makeup removing oil or an oil based cleanser and work it into the lashes and wait a minute or 2 to let it do it’s work before washing it off
Anyone else do these tips ???

Dry skin girl here, had that problem for the longest time to (and on bad days its still a little bit there but tolerable) maybe you already tried those things and this comment is useless to you but maybe there's one thing that could improve it. For the most part, moisture improved a lot of my troubles. And I mean that I moisture the living heck out of my undereyes. Also daily and not only when I wear makeup. Moisturizer, eye cream and very moisturizing primer just for them (but make shure it can sink in, some concealers don't like it when it's still too tacky) oh, also one trick I have from Soph, to open your jaw with closed lips, to stretch the skin under your eyes to be able to dab poduvt into every crease. What also helped me is to actually only use a tiny amount of loose powder (like the littlest bit, I was surprised at how little powder I actually needed as well) and then gently press it into the skin with a brush, and to smooth everything out, I go over it with a clean side of my beauty blender and gently dab my eye area. Concealer wise, it's just trial and error, every skin just behaves differently. But just in case, the Nyx bare with me concealer serum, while not having heavy coverages is just perfect for my eyes. Very flawless, almost no creasing and pretty much undetectable. Otherwise the standart Catrice liquid camouflage concealer (not the true skin, for some reason my skin hated that one) While also not perfect, it's my reliable old friend I've been using for years know.

I had this problem for years and recently have noticed they look slightly better. The only new things I put it down to are products and techniques. I've started using nars creamy concealer and rather than blending it straight away I let it dry for a minute and then blend it with a fluffy brush. Then once I know it's blending I gently press a small amount of charlotte tilbury powder. Then I do my brows or something else and then bake loosely with the rcma no colour powder. I only do this to be honest because it prevents mascara transferring under my eyes. This seems to be working for me. The main difference I think is letting the concealer sit for a while before blending. X

Honestly the biggest thing that changed the makeup game for me is colour corrector. I just do a little bit of peach under the eyes, and a bit of green on any red patches. It’s such a short, quick little step but makes my concealer over the top work SO much better

So I studied cosmetology a longggg time ago and obviously trends have changed. One eyebrow tip that I do remember and still use.....apply your eyebrow pencil backwards, brushing against the hair. So starting from your outer corner, brush the pencil lightly against the hairs and then brush into place. This gives the effect of thicker hairs but also a more natural look, as the Color is deposited under and around each hair, rather than just sitting on top of the hairs. You will probably still need to apply a few hairs the more conventional way to fill in sparse areas and then brush into place. You can also use this technique with some of the less thick brow mascaras and get the same effect. it's a great technique for those days when you're not putting on a full face but still want some brow definition.
Great video as always Soph, thanks again 🥰

Here are some of my fav tips I learned over the years!
    1. If you do eyes first, apply all primers at once (face, under eye, eyelid etc.) this will sink in and get tacky overtime.
    2. Apply concealer to your under eyes and most unwanted blemishes LAST so as you blend other spots, the concealer gets a bit dry to ensure better coverage.
    3. Use setting spray before your base, after your base (powder or none) and after the entire look is done.
    4. Bronzer in place of contour usually gives off a better “no makeup” or minimal makeup look.
    5. Contour the eye socket with the same bronzer on your face or similar to have your eyes look more lively.
    6. Pay attention to the tones of your makeup to ensure overall balance. If you want cool but are neutral, reach for cool-neutral products (learning color theory helps the most with this tip)!
    7. Use a clear balm or clear highlight to enhance shimmer highlight or wear alone for a natural glow.
    8. Use a slightly darker lipliner or brown is better, to even out your lip shape and put color over it. Apply on top of lip color to reach wanted look.
    9. Owning semi-clear colored glosses are key to transforming any lip look. Wearing a pink but seems to bright? Apply a green gloss to neutralize it (once again, color theory).
    10. And lastly, use a normal mascara then a waterproof mascara on top to ensure curl stays. This takes trial and error as no lashes are the same but that’s alright.
    All done! :)

With covering blemishes and spots, after skincare, i take a cream conceler and cover the spots i need. Leave it to dry almost completely, no blending, and THEN apply your foundation over the top with a beauty blender, starting from the outside of your face to the middle. I find the less makeup i have on my nose, the less likely to cake or crack.

Completely agree with the warm beauty blender technique. I’ve been doing that for a few years, and find there’s a huge difference in how my foundation goes on if my blender is warm vs cold. Always so disappointed if I’m doing makeup on the run and it’s gotten cold because I know it’s not going to work as well.

for spots - dont apply concealer directly on it, apply it to the side because they already have texture and the concealer will add to it. also if you apply it to spots then you have all the germs from the spot on the dufour which will then spread to all the concealer.

Contour creams… warm them up on the back of your hand and load your brush! Stops all ‘muddy-ness’ and you can control the amount of product and build up intensity instead of putting on too much and struggling to blend out. Same for cream blush 😊

70''s tip sounds gross but it works. If you use liquid foundation pour a little into the lid before you put it away. Then next time you use your foundation use the stuff in the cap as spot concealer. It dries out a bit and goes much thicker and covers up blemishes. Next after one layer of mascara powder between layers for a false lash effect.

I kinda do the same thing...I have a foundation that is a perfect match to my skin. If I'm just using a BB cream or a tinted moisturizer, I'll take a couple dabs off of the neck of the bottle and use it as concealer. It's a bit thicker there, and works great! It is almost undetectable. We used to do the powder over mascara trick too, but I have found that these newer formula mascaras are super thick. I use Ipsy and they have sent me a lot of brands I would have never tried! I love your tips...late 80's teen here and apparently your trend stuck lol

Best trick ever is to NEVER apply any sort of product directly to your face. For example apply foundation concealer cream bronzer to the back of the hand or a palette and then use a brush to apply to your face. You will use way less product and makeup will not look cakey anymore 🎉

I don't use foundation, just concealer and not all over. Just a few points. Apply it directly to the skin. I don't think most people need foundation at all. Especially younger women.

    • @ChickenPop2023
      @ChickenPop2023 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@Woo_Woo_Woman I'm 48 and I do the same thing. The key is to start taking care of your skin when you're young. It makes me so happy to see that is the trend now, because when we were in our 20's none of my friends did. But I did. I toned, moisturized, and used eye cream every day. The only lines I have are tiny ones under my eyes, and I feel like putting product there just enhances it. I use a couple dots of concealer and a tinted moisturizer, then do the rest as normal. Most of these younger girls have beautiful skin and the loads of foundation just isn't necessary! I try to tell my 23 year old daughter this, and I think she's catching on. If she wants to pile it on if she's going out great! But for everyday wear, it's just not necessary at all. Oh, and SUNSCREEN!

There is this tip that i swear always works
So if you’re a person that has a lot of dark spots on your face caused by acne or hyperpigmentation take either a foundation or concealer that is several shades darker and put it over the dark spots and leave for like 2 minutes to dry then dap it a little with your sponge and then use your regular foundation or concealer to cover it
It’s the best hack it just makes sense to me like I know people usually use their concealer to cover the spots but to me that highlights it even more and makes it grey

  • @tinyprettymoon
    @tinyprettymoon ปีที่แล้ว +10

Eye cream is a must for me. It’s great for keeping the darkness and fine lines at bay but recently my lips have been really dry and chapped so I rubbed some eye cream over them and put on my usual lip balm and now they’re so smooth. Using eye cream on your lips is a hack I learned about a while ago but I don’t always do it since I’m not able to get an eye cream. And I don’t believe an eye cream is just a moisturizer in a smaller jar/tube because I’ve never gotten those results with my lips from putting my regular moisturizer on my lips.
My absolute favorite thing is toner though, I will literally try any toner but the ones from Korean brands are the best. I love the I’m from rice toner and the A’pieu Mulberry Blemish Clearing Toner the most

WHen you apply foundation, miss out the underye area. Then apply concealer to your undereye (Huda faux filter concealer is ace for mature skins, no crease) it blends much better this way around and won't look cakey on the undereye. Don't use face powder on the undereye if you are over 30. Use an undereye powder such as Pat Mcgrath or Laura Mercier. Once you have powdered your foundation, apply setting spray, this stops the cakey look. Then apply bronzer/ blush. It is the oils from your skin that break the colours down, so the setting spray helps it last longer

A tip I learned: if your under eyes crease from powder when baking, blend the concealer, then let the concealer mostly dry, then apply the thinnest amount of powder with a brush, then go back over with a powered puff to bake your face (if that’s what you want to do). Applying powder to wet concealer will make the makeup kind of mush together (like cement). The thin layer of powder between your concealer and baking powder will make the under eyes less creased!

I think the warm beauty blender thing is to do with it being made from plastic. The plasticisers within the sponge that make it feel soft will change in different temperatures. In cold temps they become more stiff and then they become softer and more flexible as they become warmer. I’m basing this on the theory behind the plastic tubing I use in work, but I think it’s the case 😄

I use a spray bottle with a fine sprayer, with WATER, instead of setting spray to meld my powder makeup together. I break out very easily. And water does the trick. During the winter when my skin is dry, I put a few pumps of my moisturizer in the water and mix it up, and use that as a setting spray.

Pressing powder onto my under eye concealer also works best for me! The minimal powder/concealer technique always ends up kind of crepey on me no matter what.
Here are some tips I use!
    1. I put a relatively thinner layer of concealer under my eyes, then I let it set for a couple seconds before I start blending it out. This usually helps me use less concealer and gives me more coverage! For me, this doesn’t give me much of an issue with creasing either
    2. The only way I’ve gotten my makeup to last longer without using too much setting powder, different primers, or full coverage foundations is by using setting spray during each major step of my makeup application lol. My favorite setting sprays are high end, so I usually use a high quality drugstore setting spray to set my face after each step. I’ll use the high-end setting spray before I put on my makeup, and when I’m completely done with my makeup. If I’m going to an event or going partying at night, I spray the high-end setting spray directly into my foundation and concealer before blending it out. This technique doesn’t leave my skin dry, and it’s really useful for minimal makeup days where it’s easy for your makeup to fade away since you dont have much on.

Helps with any shine so they don’t disappear all that much! 💖

    1) Always curl your lashes. Makes a huge difference. 2) Layer up your blush with cream blush first, then powder blush on top to keep it from fading.
    3) if you struggle with foundation or powder clinging to your upper lip and looking dusty, just shave that sucker off. I have for ages and it worked wonders for my confidence! 😂❤

A tip for under eye concealer is to make sure you don’t put foundation on your under eyes and make sure your under eyes are hydrated. Whenever I moisturize my under eyes, my concealer lasts longer and when I don’t put foundation on my under eyes, it doesn’t crease. Plus I only tend to use a little bit of powder to set my under eyes, so the concealer still has movement so it doesn’t creare overtime.

I think i heared a korean influencer saying that if for example have big pores around your nose, less is more. Firstly use a primer and secondly only use a concealer on this area.
I always do that and it works.😍
I dont close my eyes fully when applying setting spray, i keep them half opend so it doesnt smudge. Just like when you do your eyeliner.
But i also could leave it to dry.

Maybe it was obvious but powdering before using powder products (blush/bronzer) has changed my makeup. I dont use cream products and rarely use foundation so I basically powder my cheeks after spf and apply blush and bronzer on top. I used to not powder my cheeks because I thought I had to powder my whole face and could only powder after foundation, which sounds really random but is what I believed for the longest time. Now my blush and bronzer blends seamlessly, and doesnt look patchy or cakey.

Ngl I could not imagine myself taking this long to do my makeup/ do so many steps but ur finished result is stunning 🤍
My makeup tips for rly quick makeup are to put powder blush/ bronzer on wet foundation if u want it to last. My other tip is to line ur lips with lip stain for a long lasting colour which is super important in winter bc my lips always turn blue at the edges and this hides it. Another tip for no makeup makeup use fake tan drops in ur moisturizer so u don’t need to bronze and use cheek stain!!!!! Also tinting ur lashes makes the biggest difference bc u don’t have to wear mascara. It would actually be really cool to see u do a “no makeup” look where u tried a load of the sort of no makeup cheats like fake tan, skincare, lash tint and lipstains x

when covering blemishes/spots with concealer put the concealer on the back of your hand so it doesn't contaminate your concealer and use a small brush to cover the places you want covered (it uses less product and it actually gives a better coverage because using too much just makes the concealer move around too much when trying to blend it in!

    • @karenmichael5483

Weleda Skin Food is the GOAT moisturiser for under makeup, you only need a tiny amount. The original formula is great but takes more work to warm up and pat on, if you try to wipe or rub it in its so thick it won't work well. The light formula is better and easier to move on skin but still just as moisturizing.

A good tip a make up artist gave me which I think works really well is to use setting spray after each stage of your make up. So once you’ve done all your cream products use setting spray and again after your powder.
Also I do the same thing with leaving concealer on spots but once I’ve blended out the concealer I also apply powder directly to them and let it sit for a while, almost like baking but just on the spots and I find this helps them stay concealed throughout the day

My biggest hack that is my savior when it comes to my under eyes and the creasing and cakeyness is, after doing all my makeup including my concealer and powder and whatnot, I will take a setting spray(honestly, any type will do) and spray some on the back of my hand(just one or two small spritzes) and then use my ring finger and lightly dab it into the setting spray and then lightly dab it under my eyes and then just keep dabbing and patting until it's fully Blended in and dry. It is probably the best makeup hack I've ever tried and it worked really well for me too. I'm in my 30s and have some fine lines already and it helps with the creasing. You can also do this hack anytime of the day if you notice your undereyes looking cakey or dry or creasing. ❤❤

I find that instead of applying cream products directly to the face from the stick or doe foot, that you should apply to a brush first and then put it on your face. That's the best way I've found to keep it from disturbing your makeup underneath and to keep from putting too much product on. You can either apply to a brush from the stick or put it on the back of your hand and then use a brush from there.
