    No wonder it takes my friends hours to do their routines. Just prepping the skin takes roughly half an hour with face washing, toner, setting moisturizer, and setting sun screen. All this before makeup even goes on. No wonder I was doing it wrong. My makeup looked caky within an hour. this video was so helpful.

    i’ve been doing makeup for 3 years and this routine is exactly how i’ve evolved to apply my makeup now. this is the best routine to achieve a flawless skin like finish without leaving your makeup cakey! 💕
    a few more tips:
    -i like to spot correct before foundation, then brighten my face after with a lighter concealer
    -i apply cream contour before concealing to keep the shape i want and look more sculpted
    -apply your undereye concealer ASAP to avoid flaking or creasing, i use the baking method and a small fluffy brush, then apply a translucent powder to the rest of your skin using a big fluffy brush when you’re finished
    -if you’re feeling too matte get a big fluffy brush to brush off excess powder with and remember setting spray will bring the look together and makes it look more natural
    -do not over manipulate your concealer or you will make it look flaky, peel, and remove coverage
    -i first use a brush for coverage and then i go in w a beauty blender to smooth and sheer it out
    -setting spray can help you blend out liquid and cream products

Patting off excess moisturizer (THIS HELPED SO MUCH OH GOSH) (I used tissue instead of cotton pad and patting motions instead of wiping. Highly effective!!!!) 2. Putting the foundation at the centre of the cheek ONLY and then blend it outwards (I used to put foundation EVERYWHERE and it caked/flaked like mad omggggg) 3. Patting off excess foundation with DAMP beauty blender (I knew you had to dampen it, but not to the extent of drying it off with tissue!). hi~, this video is reaaaally helpful! i am a certified makeup artist and i can tell all of these tips are professional-level 💗.
    however~, there are some few things i would do in a different way to achieve even better results:
    1. instead of rubbing your brush with powder on the palm of your hand to leave any excess, i would do it in the lid of my powder. it’s more hygienic and your brush won’t pick as much bacteria as it would if u do it that way.
    2. i wouldn’t apply any foundation on my eyelids, really. foundation has water and oil, so if you apply it to your eyelids (even in a light layer) it will crease throughout the day. i would highly suggest to use and eyeshadow primer just as the urban decay one (the purple and original one), and if you also have pigmentation on your eyelids or they are very dark, use a pigmented primer, or a cream/primer eyeshadow, or concealer + setting powder (this option is the least for me because i have noticed it sometimes creases). i good product for this last option is the mac paint pot. you can use the soft ochre for more warm eye makeup look, or the painterly shade for cool eye makeup.
    hope this helps and help you get even better results!

    Tips I found to be great for oily skin, and I'm still improving my technique:
    1. Use thermal water before starting to prepare your skin;
    2. Use setting spray after every step of your makeup;
    3. If you're gonna use sunscreen, aply it generously and reduce the primer amount, so you wont be greasy, just use a watery or gel texture;
    4. Don't use heavy actives or many skincare products if you're gonna do your makeup: a light toner, hyaluronic acid serum and moisturiser, in the tiniest amount will do the job;
    5. Watch out your routine: drink enough water, quit the junkfood and go for some physical activity, your health and your skin will pay off greatly.

    In my opinion this has helped
    1. Choose a good brand foundation (not cheap brand) because cheap foundation can look bad
    2. Use a moisturizer before applying or a moisturizing primer to moisturize the skin before application
    3. Don’t use too much foundation because overlapping the product can make it very cakey, use just enough (don’t overlap foundation and concealer, apply them at the same stage and start blending)
    4. Then spray some setting spray for adding extra moisture
    4. Then use a translucent powder all over to hide pores and make your skin look smooth
    5. When you are fully done with the makeup, spray more of the setting spray (but not too much that your face is wet)

    *I just want to add, based on makeup oily skin or you want matte finish - setting spray first then powder. but if you have dry skin and want to have glowy finish but want your makeup stay longer without feeling oily, setting powder first then second is the setting spray to finish the look. but now the trend is, after finishing all your face makeup you can apply setting powder, next is setting spray to lock in everything and after the wet dries down - you can put loose or setting powder again. what's important is to use very fine powder to avoid using too much of the product or to make the underneath foundation cakey.*
    *I have combo skin and been using sponge/beauty blender for years, even I squeeze it throughly it makes my foundation patchy. I thought before that I will never used brush bcoz it will cause dry patched visible or will cause streaks but I still tried and now I prefer this than using damp sponges. I think right formula of moisturizer/sunscreen helps a lot on skin textures and the right density of foundation brush works perfectly without leaving streaks. My base is natural looking and well blended. All you need is to find out what tools works best for your skin type and learn more on techniques of using it. Dabbing, stipling motion, and alike.*

    One tip from me- if your prep is quite oily(i am dry so i apply oily skincare) don't wet your sponge it will congest your makeup and cause the foundation to separate. Unless you wipe away the oil from your skin with a tissue before patting with sponge, then it could work :) also cream products have usually oils in them so use brush for cream products :)

    Not too sure why TH-cam recommended your videos to me because I’ve been watching Minecraft stuff lately lol but thank you. This is all useful info presented in a non-judgmental way. I did performance arts for a long time, and I always felt out of place when it came time to put on makeup for shows. The other girls were judgy of me to begin with since I’m clumsy and awkward, and my mother is sporty and wears minimal makeup, so I never really got any help. I learned to hate makeup as a result. I didn’t know what to do to get it to look right. This makes me want to try makeup again on my own terms.

    I mix my foundation with primer. I put a dot of foundation and a dot of primer on my hands, mix them and apply on my face.
    It blends so smoothly and looks no natural, doesn't crease and gives a light, natural coverage.
    If you don't want a heavy coverage and prefer a lighter one, this is very useful.

    Bro…. This is the first video ever where it made my face look at least a bit blurred and smooth. I have acne, no its not a lott or cystic acne Thank God, and I’ve tried different methods but they never really helped, and after an hour or so my face looked brighter than my future. I just got back from school ( ~7 hrs) and my face only has a ttiiiiny bit of shinyness. But I truly believe I could’ve gone wearing this makeup for a whole day 8+ hrs or even more. The reason I was shiny was because today was super humid and hot and im just a super sweaty human, BUT IM SO SURPRISED!!! THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! I know it took like an hour but it really did hold up and still looks really good, really, thank you!!!
