“Hey you’ve got a couple of screws loose”. Lol! Man I’ve been watching your videos every since you started your channel. I always enjoy them, lots of laughs 😂
Teamwork indeed! Makes things a bit less evil when you get to share the heat of a hot attic... Try down here in Georgia in the summer! Two of my faves - hvac and electrical!
That was a low current arc which is the main cause of electrical fires. The wire nut most likely got loose from vibrations through the years and started arcing. These types of loose connections will arc all day long without tripping a standard circuit breaker.
A long time ago, I worked for a Ruud dealer. We sold a lot those condensing units. They were designed to allow easy access for service. I didn’t like that capacitors were a weird size so the replacement caps never fit into original factory hole.
Good Video. I have found that problem a couple of times in the past few years. Got the voltage but no current. I wonder if those big blue wire nuts are the limitations on stuff like that. Maybe a Kearney Clamp (split bolt) would've been better for me on high current multi-wire connections. I enjoyed the Video, thanks! 🇺🇸
It's cool your enjoying your new truck! You have to get control of that Miss Molly catch me if you can! haha I shall return to my meat slicing, sandwich making, salad setting up (&sous Vie) . usaww
I'm not sure the problem is Molly, it may be Steve because he always says come on let's go to work. She doesn't know what that means, dogs usually respond better to let's go for a ride in the truck.
What is your trick with the rubber hose and copper for dishwasher from existing dishwasher plastic drain hose Steve? I want to make it from that end to the drain tailpiece. (Diameter of hose and copper please)
24 VAC transformer Question: Does anyone ever consider fusing the secondary side of a the transformer used tor heating cooling equipment? Yes I know it was a primary feed issue, but this episode jest made me question why no one considered over current protection or current limiting protection for newer solid-state circuitry used in HVAC.
Wire nut was not connecting the two wires tight enough and it heated up for the last time recently. Good fix but I would have installed that 24v transformer on the wood joist or similar vs. that cluster idea on the J box. I have seen many installs done that way but those transformers "hum" which is why a remate location away from sheet metal is better. There's always something as they say...
Always like that you fix the existing instead of selling new units as most companies these days business model. 👍🏻
Kick the can down the road.

What's up with the censor bubble floating around sometime? lol

You and that electrician are a special breed.
Steve had a guest today, very cool, good repair video.
Your best customer. :). I'd like to do a box fill calculation on that 4 sq. box.

When in doubt farm it out.
Thanks again for the videos.

Another old furnace that needs the crusher mama, good fix
You should have told the electrician that this box with wires arent rocket science mama! :) haha :)
He definitely had some screws loose mama.. :)
where is the dog?
Looks like the wire rubbed through on the back of the box after they tightened it up?
Cuttler Hammer at its finest not tripping when supposed to.
"Jed Clampit"!!🤣
Good job Steve.

Some kid wanted to talk to Steve about his auto warranty.

Hello Steve!
2 trades working together to make it work.
Hate to tell you kids, but Miss Molly and Steven are getting a divorce.
All that wiring jammed into a small box.

Too many wires in box. 10 pounds of shit in a 5-pound bag...
the electrical work had been illegal in the country I live in
but now it's the US where I can stand
Here in Sweden aswell :)
