A decent selection of mods! From what I’ve read the TM is a great ecu, but I would still dyno tune if you have the chance. DEI engineering makes heat shield inserts for the exhaust, helps keep the heat down. I ceramic coated my gutted header pipe, and wrapped it with header wrap, sealed up with 2000f flat black paint. With the DEI inserts it should help keep heat off the leg. HD Cool Fan would be a great addition for rider comfort too, added that last year. You have an oil cooled 117, HD fan assisted cooler maybe?
That’s why I’m adding the thundermax fan assist. Curious… why do you think it should be dyno tuned after I set the map from thundermax and let it auto tune afterwards?
@@RealRonTV I missed the fan assist, good stuff. Dyno time, every time I’ve done it, bike or car, it’s always improved output and efficiencies. It isn’t necessary, I’ve had great luck with canned programming, but it’s always been better after a dyno. Making a poor argument to keep my warranty here. Lol. It’s only a Woods 22xe and hauling it 8 hours to really wake up this 122. First world problems.
I think Feuling recommends that you use their one piece pushrods (part # 4087) instead of adjustable pushrods. Have you seen them compared to the H-D stock pushrods? The one piece Feuling pushrods look pretty stout!
Is Feuling going to come over and do all the extra hours of work taking off the rocker boxes and coolant lines? 😝 The S&S pushrods will do just fine. Lol
@@RealRonTVThe additional time for the rocker box disassembly is an opportunity for more content for your channel. But, if you’re going to count the flats and install the adjustable pushrods, I think you can probably go with the “short travel”/ “limited travel” lifters. The travel limited lifters are compatible with use of adjustable pushrods, but should not be used with one piece pushrods.
Hell yeah, Ron, I can't wait to see the build when it's done. I like the choice on the fullsac exhaust. To be able to use the stock heat shields, that's one thing I was trying to do is keep that. I wasn't really too keen on the khrome werks exhaust. Fullsac exhaust I hadn't checked out. Now I will...lol I have been researching the same fueling cam set up as you picked. I'm still up in the air between fueling and s&s. But anyway, thanks for sharing. I'll be waiting for the video of the completion of your build to see how you like that fueling setup. May make my decision easier...lol. Anyway, good luck on your build, and as always, ride safe and stay safe. Will you be in Daytona thus year?
The only reason in my opinion to go with S&S over the Feuling Race Series is to save the money. Now the Feuling HP+ is more of an apples to apples with the S&S so that’s where you might want to go S&S. Yeah I’ll be in Daytona the first weekend. Are you going?
@RealRonTV yeah we'll be leaving here from Michigan March 3rd and be there through the 11th hopefully we get to run into you down there I'd love to see that bike and hear it LOL or just able to shake your hand! appreciate the videos. yeah I get you on the S&S you save a few dollars but as for the quality is it worth paying the extra I believe so, I'm always one may as well throw the extra few in to get the better quality otherwise I'll be kicking myself in the butt why didn't I do this why didn't I do that LOL you know what I mean? I don't know if it's a better quality or just maybe better percentages I guess all that's got to be factored in I like to get it done before bike week but I don't know if that's going to be feasible. being I don't think I'm going to do the build myself I would have to wait till next winter if I do try. I'm retired been retired 8 years but I'm more busy now than when I was working, I think I'll have to go back to work to get time for myself...lol if I put the bike down any amount of time and can't get the wife out and ride she's going to be all over my rear end LOL Although I have another bike I can ride but it's strictly show and go and it's set up solo so she can't ride on that one. But atleast I'm never without the bike it's her I got to worry about but anyway yeah hopefully get to see you down there, will be cool you'll have to put up some kind of message where you're at down there if you're at one of the vendors or whatever , maybe try to find you! Be nice to get the heck away from this state long-ass cold Winters LOL, well, take care Ron I appreciate you for all your input as always. Have an awesome safe day!!
@RealRonTV oh definitely will have my bike down there I'm sure I already told ya I got the blue steel Road Glide it's my first time ever owning a Road Glide riding over 40 years now and never had anything but black and chrome so I kind of get the best of both worlds this one still looks black at most times and blue is my favorite color LOL that's a thought, is that a quick turnaround for them to do work down there? I never thought about that. too bad it wasn't something they can do in a day LOL.
You can never go wrong with Feuling parts... although rare, my buddy's 107 S&S oil pump failed and destroyed his engine. HD refused to warranty his claim. It is a shame we have to pay so much cash to make these bikes run cooler. We All know how hot these engines get. Are you running an oiler cooler fan?
My S&S 124 kit blew up my bike when the oil pump broke off on my 20 Roadglide. I have a thundermax fan and an oil cooler installed as well on this bike.
@@RealRonTV was it the OEM oil pump or aftermarket pump? oil cooler fans are an absolute must... stop and go riding KILLS these engines pretty fast. my 2020 Freewheeler 114 sumped at 8500 miles and destroyed the engine as it seized. The external head breathers and vented transmission cover are great modifications. I have both and so far they are working great :-)
