    Super easy! I used a long 1" spade bit and a shop vac while still on the bike. The material is really pretty soft.

    • @Xworks22
      @Xworks22  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's pretty straight forward just need to remove the slip ons and once you do that you can see the catalytic converter inside the header pipe then you just use your bit to crunch it and drill it out in pieces and you can clear the whole pipe once it's completely round clean it up as best as you can put your slip-ons back on and now you have no cat

  • @a.r.o7697
    @a.r.o7697 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    The correct way to delete a cat off a Harley is to buy a 2 into 1 exhaust with no catalyst. In addition to that, buy a tuner. It's expensive, but it's the right way to do it. Your ECU will adjust for about 10% of change in the air to fuel ratio but since you took out the catalyst; it's off and will need to be adjusted.

    • @ridered7394
      @ridered7394 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Simply not true for m8 engines, dk customs did a dyno video about full exhaust and intake with no tune

    • @Scoobydue420
      @Scoobydue420 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ridered7394 do you even tune? You’re verifiably wrong, from a Harley mechanic….

    • @ArmeroPR
      @ArmeroPR ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Scoobydue420 Agreed! I did a 2020 RG and a 2023 SG. Both Stage 1's. Both needed proper tunes, especially the one we did V&H big radius exhaust. It wouldn't even idle for more than 10 seconds without shutting down the entire ecm. Later model M8's behave differently than older Harleys and you have to know what you're doing. Removing cats might benefit from less heat but you might actually lose power. They also run super lean without a tune.

    • @Steve-qn8gn
      @Steve-qn8gn ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is not true, the cat has nothing to do with a/f ratios. The sensors are before the cat.

    • @dsnutzzz4567
      @dsnutzzz4567 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No u don’t need to tune it all it achieved was getting rid of the heat that radiates from the cat It had no effect on the way the bike performs and it will change the sound very little it’s been dyno tested and proven

  • @levialston518
    @levialston518 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    What about the O2 sensors how does this effect the ecu?

  • @Mikeityourself
    @Mikeityourself 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Appreciate the vid, just starting looking into this to help with the heat. Im rocking a stage 1 setup so curious to see if I get any additional gains. I assume you left the sensors in while you drilled out the cat? No concern with possibly hitting them? For the auger, just like the $25 bit from Home Depot? Much appreciated.

    • @Xworks22
      @Xworks22  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thanks yea it helped big time with the heat the cat used to get so hot it yellowed the chrome on th slip on pipe. no there's no sensors to damage and yes just a simple long drill bit to break all the cat material then just pull the chunks out with long needle nose plyers . the bike runs way happier without the cat plugging up the exhaust
