    Sounds great, love the look of this car and colour of then interior, and I've just read your blog, so it hasn't depreciated at all since new? I'm not sure what to think on that how will the value hold in the future? Cracking car, gutted the test drive footage deleted, keep doing these test drives mate!

      Thank you mate I will do. Yeah according to the dealer but I doubt the previous owner got anywhere near that amount. I reckon the dealer is just making massive profit. But with this being naturally aspirated I reckon people like me will seek them out

      Jay Kay true I reckon the dealer probs give him 50 grand for it

    Ah bummer on the footage man. Any idea what happened and why? Fair play for still persisting with a review. I've lusted after this beast for ages. For £60K you could get a decent miles 911 turbo. Obvs this would be significantly more costly to run....I'm guessing. But if I were looking seriously at the Cayman I would be pricing up a used 911 running costs.

      @jaykay7932  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I know :( i don't know what happened. Ive just come back from doing a polo hit video and it has recorded that fine! Yeah a youtube linked me a 911 earlier for £62k with 20k miles. As you say i wonder what the running cost difference would be. I think ill test drive a 911 now though seeing as they are the same price

    Nice video jay . When you thinking of seriously buying a new car . . . . ? When i start looking at cars i get obsessed haaaa .

    • @jaykay7932
      @jaykay7932  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks mate. Because ive lost more money than i anticipated with my Golf R, i'll keep it at least another two years. You have to be very careful buying new cars nowadays because of the facelift thing which makes us lot lose money if we're not careful lol

    • @m2db772
      @m2db772 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jay Kay ano car manufacturers bring to many updated models out making the car you have devalued. Its so annoying you would literally need to buy a new car every few month keep up with the models .

      Jay Kay also jay have you tried using RAIN X on your windscreen ? I swear by it its fantastic !

    • @jaykay7932
      @jaykay7932  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it never used to be this way. Back in 06 when i bought my Type R EP3 it held a large chunk of its value for ages and actually increased in value at one stage! I think the best thing to do if you really want a new car is hold back for the face lift then rush in and get that 20% discount! No i havent, ive never heard of that mate im currently using the gardx rain gaurd which VW gave me and that works really well. I'll take a look at the stuff you reccomend and give it a whirl!

    so you would have it over an m2? i never looked at a cayman because it cost more and i can't see myself using it to go for the weekly shop.

    • @jaykay7932
      @jaykay7932  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I would mate. The chassis and mid engine setup deliver superior performance to the m2 and the gear box is a lot better. The BMW m2 is better looking though. Both cars are brilliant and I'd be happy with an m2 but so far the Porsche is looking like my next car. You might drive a Cayman though and prefer the m2. Everyone is different I suppose

      Jay Kay i may have to test drive one. have you consider the 718 cayman? i heard good things about that despite only having 4 cylinders.

    • @jaykay7932
      @jaykay7932  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was going to test drive the 718 Cayman but they were sold out. I'd rather have a flat 6 naturally aspirated though to be honest as the sound is manic! Fantastic! I might have a play in one though if they get one in

    Was this at Nottingham! That's my father's old car haha he got rid of it early Feb. You would have had an amazing car man. Miss it every day 😂

    • @jaykay7932
      @jaykay7932  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      it was! How much did he pay for it?? Great car but too much money for 62k lol it had several chip marks on the bonnet too

    • @miatafanatics7052
      @miatafanatics7052 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jay Kay he paid 63 and a bit brand new, shame about the chips

      Jay Kay yep, hexagon classics or something like that, featured on seen through glass' channel

    • @jaykay7932
      @jaykay7932  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was a great car! How come he didn't go for the GT4? That's being pegged as the best Porsche and people are even saying that with more power it'd beat the GT3! This GTS just sounds fantastic though, i only wish they let you see the engine! If it were more powerful and probably 10k cheaper id have done a deal to be honest

    • @miatafanatics7052
      @miatafanatics7052 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jay Kay numbers were too limited for him to get the gt4 unfortunately, at the time all the remaining gt4 allocations had been taken.

    are you still going to test drive the mustang

    • @jaykay7932
      @jaykay7932  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      i am mate dealer permitting, I'm waiting for better weather. I would have preferred drier for this car too as I had the rear end out a few times. God fun though but stops you from really giving it some on the twisty roads

    • @marcbedingfield1934
      @marcbedingfield1934 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      What about the f type, have you given that any more thought? V6/V8

    • @jaykay7932
      @jaykay7932  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I have and that's another car im going to investigate

    • @marcbedingfield1934
      @marcbedingfield1934 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm would personally look at the hard top coupe because I think it's a lot better looking and I have never been a fan of soft top 2 seeters

    • @jaykay7932
      @jaykay7932  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with you plus the handling will be superior in coupe form

  • @ssadonnelly
    @ssadonnelly 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    IMHO Porsche is the best performance car under £100 K. My next "fun" car with be something cheap like a clapped out MX5 after my SLK "incident" I suppose your next test drive will be an Alfa 4C 🤔😮

    • @jaykay7932
      @jaykay7932  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      completely agree with you. Yeah before christmas there were a few 4c's for sale so when the weather gets a bit better ill start hunting one down for a test drive. The competes with a lotus exile though i think, which are track focused car with hardly any refinement so that'll be an interesting mini series

    Jay, next move Cayman GT4, will blow your mind mate. £85k> £105k

    • @jaykay7932
      @jaykay7932  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      bloody hell that is super car money! So in the hierarchy of range, where does the GTS sit?? Im guessing the GT4 is the actually pure track variant? where the GTS is mid range?? I get confused with Porsches to be honest lol

    • @sparkford04
      @sparkford04 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Evo review, note the initial UK price was £65k. However, limited numbers and demand for then took the actual selling price to circa £100k

      I saw a bit of the video you linked. The gt4 looks a monster! Are you a Porsche owner then?

      I have a 2016Boxster 918 flats six, bought as a 2000miles Demo car , equipped with most of ,imo , the essential and nice to have options. Bargain at £41.5k met black with Satin finished 20" alloys. Great look. I also have a 2017 model(Dec 2016) Golf R mk7 5dr manual, very high spec, bought as a 500 mile demo, at a cracking £33k ,even purchased via Orangewheel discounter the car would have been £35k. VW retail 39k. Normally buy via internet to dealership after doing a detail UK search, but usually limit to a 150mile radius shop.

      Nice car collection you have there then mate. What's the road tax on our boxster? The dealer told me that on this cayman he thought it might be under £300 which is really good for a 6 cylinder naturally aspirated engine!
