exactly! enjoy it for WHAT IT IS. It had the right amount of cheese, the old school soap opera acting, and you HAVE to throw logic out the window! But that's what make Power Rangers great! You just have to enjoy it how a kid who's experiencing this for the first time would love it!
Mighty Morphin will always be better than all the newer seasons. Now that their older their acting has improved not that it wasn't already better than the later actors

@44:46 BIG Facts man. Jason Scott will always be the best Red Ranger and Ranger in general. And he had arguably the best 6th ranger costume. After all these years the Gold Ranger suit remains my absolute favorite design. Also shoutout to Billy Cranston. I often have to remind myself that he was the only OG to stay and keep his original Mighty Morphin PR color.
Dont forget the mystery of the Gold Ranger where they tried to make it seem that it was Billy. Every season i kept anticipating the 6th ranger to come forth

It’s pretty cool that Bulk and Skull now own a food company. Last time we saw them (believe it was Power Rangers Samurai) Bulk was looking after Skull’s son and Skull was revealed to be rich so either Skull helped Bulk build “Bulk Food Co.” or it was actually Skull’s company and Bulk ended up becoming a part of it. Either way, it’s always awesome to see them again even if it’s a little cameo.
TJ is goat to he saved both Tommy and Kat without powers with the help with Cassie. TJ the first black red rangers goat.

Man, I live in Brazil and watched Power Rangers in 1995, now I'm 36 years old watching your reaction, even in different countries, I see that they had the same impact on you as they did on me, they are really missed, because in addition to being like a family, Power Rangers helped shape my character as a person, all the best to you, I hope more episodes come with the original cast!

JJ was mentored in Ninjas Steel season 2 during the 25th-anniversary episode. Fun Fact About JJ Tommy and Kat's Son, in the comics he becomes the green ranger and is a part of SPD

Really glad they did this. I didn't grow up with MMPR (wasn't even born yet when that came out) but that roster of Rangers has always been iconic imo and I'm super happy they got to do this. Seeing David Yost and Walter E Jones back in particular was awesome.
This was a great reaction, u can see Jay genuine passion and love for the series, he always been reppin his love for Power Rangers since day 1, always would have the sword in the background and all that. Love this special and this reaction, seeing Billy and Zack return was amazing to see, seeing Minh introduced and become the Yellow Ranger is just amazing and Great way to honor Trini/Thuy Trang plus I’m just gonna say it, Robo Mighty Minotuar and Robo Snizzard were the Bebop and Rocksteady of this PR special and I highly recommend watching it

The voices you hear at the beginning are in fact the original actors voices. Even though they weren't actually part of this episode the crew used old original audio as the voice over

They got us all with the remembrance outro. The whole thing was done beautiful imo and I dug the seamless cgi effects. The brutality was just as Jay said, it’s grown up with us. It was done with all of us who grew up with it, in mind. I need Hasbro to release some merch for this one. Loved your reactions. Once a ranger, always a ranger!

And I am sad to admit it never occurred to me that Zack Taylor played by Walter Jones was one of the first Black superheroes in live action. Representation is important.
Y’all I would’ve also LOVED if destroying the time portal would’ve somehow affected other time periods or timelines of rangers. Like imagine if this caused a problem when the time force rangers traveled back to the future for example. Or it interfered with Sam arriving in SPD and so he never saved them from that monster and someone died. It sets the stage for future specials and a bigger cinematic universe and I’m hyyyyyped lmao

Lemme take you back. 6 years old. I woke up extra early. Got up before my parents even woke up. Got some cereal, sat down, and waited for the very first episode for Power Rangers. From then on, I was hooked. Being here 30 years later is... Man, I didn't even think I'd make it this long.
This movie didn't hold anything back. It really was a celebration of all seasons of Mighty Morphin. Loved how every character got a chance to shine in some way. Great reaction/breakdown from you guys!
Funny thing is that when I watched the original MMPR I had a gut feeling that Billy was "different" because I was "different" so he became my favorite instantly. Turns out it was just my gaydar kicking in haha
I've seen this movie today, and I must say I love it! I love how they made nostalgic memories within the film, and how they made it as we remembered since then! It made my inner child cry! However rest in peace for Jason David Frank and Thuy Trang, they were the best since childhood. Once a ranger, Always a ranger.

Power Ranger fans are now watching the OG Super Sentai shows from the 70's and 80's. Start with Kamen Rider.
One of the cool things about Power Rangers is even in seasons when they start over with a completely new cast in a new city seemingly disconnected from the previous narrative, they find a way to connect it back to the original group. Starting with "...In Space" they did almost yearly crossovers with the previous group of rangers so that even years after the Zordon era of interconnected teams (Mighty Morphin, Alien, Zeo, Turbo and Space) all the new teams would meet their predecessors and connect the wider universe. Tommy came back in like the 12th iteration as a new Black Ranger. Jason and Adam came back multiple times as Mighty Morphin Red and Black. The 20th iteration, "Megaforce", was specifically about a team of rangers that could access all the previous Ranger powers and culminated in a massive battle featuring all the previous teams (you should react, by the way to the extended version of the 2014 finale episode, "The Legendary Battle").
Even as recent as a couple of years ago before JDF passed, he guest starred in an episode with other past rangers and got to cycle through all his powers one last time, Green-White-Red-Black.
So the cool thing about this special was yes, it pays tribute to the MMPR cast specifically but as you saw there were all sorts of nods to the other iterations and showing the Rangers aren't just 5 or 6 teens at a time but this massive force protecting the galaxy and it has this sprawling legacy now that's really cool.

I'm sad they couldn't get Bryan Cranston back for this. He actually voiced Snizzard in the OG show before he got famous

I watched this two times already and I'm excited every time. The action the fights. They did great I was a fox kid again watching this. Now if this happened back then in the days we would have blown a top
I wish the budget for the Zords was a little bit better but besides that I really loved this special episode and that ending really got me emotional😢
I kind of wish that they've learned that CGI Zords just never look good. Between the newer seasons of Super Sentai using CGI Mechs, the first Mighty Morphin movie having CGI Zords, the 2017 remake having CGI zords.
Honestly if they do another one of these by passing Tommy’s legacy. I think Tanner Buchanan from Cobra Kai should play the son

When I first saw Robo Rita in this, my first thought was literally "She really went overboard with the Snapchat filters". 😂😂 But this was really well done. Cheesy dialogue, great action, so much nostalgia and a simultaneously heartwarming and heartbreaking tribute to Thuy and JDF at the end. I do wish we had actually seen Bulk and Skull instead of just their pictures on a sign. Also, I love the commentary from Kat on the Putties sounding like angry turkeys. 😆😅😂
I had the honor of meeting JDF at a convention here in Phoenix. He was a stand-up dude. I gave him some artwork that I drew and he autographed my Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic book free. Tommy was my favorite Ranger growing up, even when he was brainwashed by Rita. Out of the six MMPR season 1/early season two zords, my number one favorite has always been the Dragonzord. I did not want to believe that he died when it was announced on social media. I looked it up, and I was devastated. May the power protect you on the other side, Jason David Frank.

Especially ones who just automatically hate it just cause they can't get ASJ, Amy Jo and JDF. I'm just glad we got this gem. We got almost everyone else that they can. That's the feat of itself
I also don't like the idea of an animated power rangers. The charm of power rangers was the fact its live action. I just feel like if it change into an animated series it'll just getting flooded in just another animated show

Whew what an experience this movie was. I think something that worked in it’s favor was that it embraced the cheesiness of the original series while also respecting the fact that the audience has grown up and even the kids of today can appreciate some stakes and darker content. The last point I made IMO is a big reason for the decline in the quality of Power Rangers over the last decade or so, the folks in charge kept the cheesiness while also treating the demographic that it was marketed for like they didn’t have brains. DC, Marvel, Star Wars, TMNT, etc. have found ways to make their child themed properties something that everyone can watch.
Once and Always thankfully was a success on Netflix and it was a success that no one expected so HOPEFULLY Hasbro has plans for the franchise while it’s on break in 2024.
Oh and PS, if you guys like a more mature Power Rangers that still has the cheesy charm, please check out the BOOM! Studios Power Rangers comics! BOOM! has been publishing PR comics since 2016 and they’ve added so much to the lore!

From what I’ve heard I was watching one, TH-cam, or he was saying that Power Rangers will no longer use the Japanese footage from Super Zentai. And the Power Rangers aren’t with the nickelodeon anymore so Netflix has them exclusively now and the next season will be the first season where everything is American exclusive so the reading might be adult now. And there’s talks of a cinematic movie, universe or the shutter grid comics getting either animated or live action.

I love the fact that they left it open with Billy saying "maybe I should keep looking for Zordon." I would love for them to do a new season with a focus starting on Billy, Zack and Minh and then maybe bringing in other either other new rangers or seeing if they can get at least a single episode for Amy Jo and Austin St John. Amy Jo said she basically just didn't want to do it at this point so maybe if she just came in to give a blessing to pass on the powers to someone else more officially. Austin as far as I know just wasn't a part of this special because he couldn't travel because of the fact he's still in the middle of a court battle so he might be more open than Amy is to coming back again in a mentorship role like Zack and Billy. Really, there's some great potential off the back end of this special.
There's also a chance that Billy could end up crossing over for Cosmic Fury since he said he was going back into space and the fact that Cosmic Fury is also going to be in space. Hell, even Adam and Aisha could pop up as well since they're in S.P.A. It would make sense to have MMPR rangers come and help them since Lord Zed is seemingly going to be the main threat of the season.

Can't help but wish ASJ, Amy Jo and JDF had been in this though, especially knowing how this wouldve been the last thing JDF wouldve done. Looks Like we're starting to catch up to the events of SPD as Aisha And Adam Look Like to be a part of it in some faction with SPA on their jackets I'm guessing it stands for Space Patrol Alpha Or Space Patrol Academy and SPD took place during 2025 and this this special takes place in 2023

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always (2023) - Once I saw the official trailer I knew this special was going to be awesome. I was so happy that this Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always special was great compared to the 20th anniversary and the 25th anniversary specials and it wasn’t a rushed 22 minute thrown together anniversary special. This is what I have been wanting from PR for a long time more specifically since Power Rangers RPM (2009). 55 minutes was the perfect length for this special thank you Hasbro and everyone that worked on this project I hope that we get more specials just like “Once & Always”. I’m down for another 55 minute special or maybe a 8 to 10 episode limited series on Netflix. Everyone in this episode shinned and Charlie Kersh I can’t wait to see you in a future projects you did an outstanding job as Minh Kwan I stood up and clapped when you morphed into the yellow ranger. Hearing Ron Wasserman singing the theme song brought back so many memories. Seeing Zack, Billy, Adam, Aisha, Kat, Rocky brought back a lot of awesome memories from seeing you guys back on screen was spectacular. This right here is how you celebrate a franchise from the storytelling to the acting and the pacing job well done. After watching Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always (2023) I can say this is hands down the best anniversary episode. Thank you eOne and Hasbro for giving us fans something special. You can watch it on Netflix you won’t be disappointed with this project. Ranger Nation. What time is it? It’s Morphin Time!

Loved it I can't stop watching the special they tied so many elements together. My favorite ranger was always Zack so I was so happy to see him get the respect that he deserved. So the reason you talked about. I also would say we had Kwame from Captain Planet but that's animated but I loved Kwame in Captain Planet and he was the leader. There was a balance to everything

It’s like I went back to my childhood seeing Once and Always! I enjoyed you guy’s reaction, Jay-3 Entertainment. My comment is long, so here we go: The ending saddened me because it paired tributes to both Thuy Trang (Trini Kwan) and Jason David Frank (Tommy Oliver). I met Jason twice and he was a really nice guy. Charlie Kersh is amazing playing Trini’s daughter, Minh. All of the previous Power Rangers stories tied in to Once and Always, so I’m glad it’s canon. I heard Zordon might come back in Power Rangers Cosmic Fury. Aisha and Adam working close to Anubis Kruger’s home world is cool too. (Power Rangers SPD). Keep being awesome, you guys! I love Power Rangers growing up as a little kid. 👊🏾👊🏾⚡️⚡️

@@marcushamner5994 you know what i wish they adapted? Kyuuranger!!! Cause so many of those characters can be tied back into PR lore. The wolf blue ranger for example could be tied to Anubis/Sirius. The scorpion oranger ranger could be tied to Scorpius. The black bull ranger could be tied to Magna Defender. The silver haired ranger could be tied to KO-35. The Gold robot could be tied to Triforia or Machine Empire. I would personally make the red ranger a long lost prince of Eltar

A full on power rangers movie in the style of Into the spider-verse animation and art style would reach billion dollar levels! Imagine the storyline and the COLORS that would POP. The story would Include the time traveling aspect and the different universes!! Someone manifest it into reality now! LOL Hype levels would be through the roof!

Rocky and Kat's first time in the OG Dino Megazord was oddly glossed over by the writers. They both just acted like it was no big deal and instead gave all the wow factor dialogue to the new girl.

It was a cheesy, but cool Power Rangers special. Haven't watched Power Rangers since I was a kid, but I'm interested in a more of an adult themed Power Rangers TV series in the style of Cobra Kai or an animated series that flush out the comic book runs.

I watched MMPR religiously. I have all of it on VHS and would watch it every weekend. I stopped when Zordon died in PR In Space. Never watched anything with them since, this was huge nostalgia fest, even using the fandub name "Z-wave" for Zordon's "good magical energy"
