best sounding 2.5 ever.
It definitely is
RS3 and TT RS also have a 2.5L 5cyl engine which sound pretty good too 😊
@@patricknelson It's the same engine.
@@rars0n Yep, they share the same drivetrain too.
You think so?
I have this same car - however, stock with lowered Eibach springs. Still fun to drive. Love my I5 5-speed.
chiil how are the springs? And what size wheel you using? Im interested in lowering my mk6 jetta 2.5 but I want something that wont scrape or give out in a short time,
Sounds sick af. VW commited a crime when they didn't add a turbo to this engine
Audi RS3 my guy
That would've ruined the sound dude
Audi TTRS
They did though?
@@maxsjoberg788no? Volvo and Audi’s turbo 5s sound just as good if not better than the NA VW I5 because they are smoother and less raspy.
Huge fan of VW's 2.0T here, but I can only imagine if VW had gone for an upgraded turbo version of the 2.5l for the golf R....would have been pretty sick.
Woody Ridenour more like they should've done a 3.2 VR6 Turbo for the Golf R
They do it’s called a ttrs 😢
That’s called a TTRS or a Audi Rs3 they are monsters
vw does make one. its called the audi rs3
Audi rights wont allow them to use it in the golf r they have tried more than once for a request
I was looking for a tdi but the 2.5 with the awe exhaust sound crazy!
Apply for a onetake with smokingtire
this thing sounds super nice
This video persuaded me to put a similar setup on my wagon. Neuspeed intake first, AWE Touring exhaust second, & finally the IE stage 2 power kit last week. No regrets & exactly what it needed.
How’s reliability? I have the same setup and am considering adding the stage 2 IE to my 09 rabbit
@@sandcrackerz It hasn’t been a problem with a 85 mile commute & 130k on the odo.
Sounds so good man 👍🏽.
Dam that sounds like my uncles Audi 5000 . I had no idea VW's with 2.5s are 5 cyl, i may have to get one, i love that sound.
Exquisite!
My 2.5 is getting there on my channel!
Wish my mk6 2.5 was manual. sounds great!
So fuking beautiful ! 2.5 I5
Are you on the 2.5 vw group on facebook? this thing is crazy!
Elevated Existence yep, I was on there. I sold the car back in February though.
thanks mate
I have the exact same setup haha!
This thing sounds awesome. Do you have a turbo in it and which one if so? Thank you!
As a fellow wagon owner. What do you have up front for headers and the downpipe? Is it stock or did you change it. I have the same exhaust on mine with obx header and downpipe combo
I wish my mk6 was a manual! Would you recommend the touring exhaust by AWE for the auto transmission? I am contemplating it
Why do i want my passat to sound like this now?
is the motor still reliable with these mods?
Are you revving it all the way out with your IE tune?
Have the exact same model wagon -and I was wondering where you got the exhaust I can’t seem to find anyone that sells the 2.5 wagon exhausts in that year or did you just buy a standard golf exhaust?
Hayden Fig no, the Sportwagen needs a longer exhaust. If you call AWE tuning, they have specific Sportwagen exhausts; that’s who I bought mine from.
Did you notice decreased reliability from the tune and headers? I'm interested in getting the Stage 2 IE tune, but as its my daily I dont want to to have many issues
GuidedPrism [G.E.W.P] no, not at all. Still kickin and running perfectly after 50k miles on the tune.
Hello this was oem manual or you make a swap.
So what you power sitting at right now?
Very nice. I picked up a 09 2.5 l but I have the base auto 6spd tranny. Can't seem to find an ecu tune so I can run that manifold....any ideas
Sadly no, the automatic transmission is not very mod-friendly for the 2.5L.
What was the whistle knows a supercharged or turbo?
Is there a real noticable difference with the stage two kit from ie? Ive been looking into getting it for my car, just want to make sure before i spend the money
Definitely. Don't expect to walk a GTI, but it definitely makes the car more enjoyable to drive. I actually drive a stage 2 Audi S3 right now and miss my Stage 2 wagon from time to time. It's a different kind of fun.
What kind of power to the wheels?
What kind of power does this make?
That SOB sounds like the BMW m5 v10
Question, is that the air ride blowing off like that? lol cause in my mind I'm like " this shit sounds like it has a tubro, but I know it don't."
Jonathan Labonte Intake induction noise.
did you forget the usp pipe in the description? also did the ie power upgrade change the exhaust tone at all?
I did not. I don't have an aftermarket header/downpipe/cat on the car. All of the exhaust is factory with the exception of the cat-back. The power kit did make a pretty noticeable difference though.
damn dude thought it was catless, sounds like mine. Still has the stock cats?
+Deec0rd yep, still has the stock cats. Factory exhaust from the block to the cat-back.
Damnnnn man, thats nice. With just my AWE track I didn't get any of the crackling while coasting till the testpipe came in.
Is there another website for cheaper exhausts? $700 is pricey for me
Just go custom from a reliable shop. I had the suitcase removed but left the res and cat.
Sounds just like my 2.5L Beetle
no it does not. this is way better do not lie . sound similar to my jetta but there are many differences. I'm not knockin urs either
@@Therealdealoneill97 Did you even listen to mine?
@@CarsAndCoffeeKings yes
What do the Porsche oil tank cap and expansion tank caps do?
They were only there for looks.
So really all I need is an intake Manifold full exhaust, stage 2 tune and a clutch/flywheel and I can also make over 209whp?
David Stevenson unlikely. I don’t think there are any naturally aspirated 2.5s making over 200whp with just those modifications. The low compression that makes these motors so reliable also really limits their power output. Most cars with the setup you’re mentioning make around 185-195whp. I believe the most powerful “bolt-on” 2.5L n/a made around 225whp, but it was running custom exhaust headers, ITBs, and E85.
Is your sport wagon not an NA 2.5? Don’t you make like 219?
David Stevenson it is, but 219bhp. Probably only 185-190hp at the wheels.
Do you do a stage 2 clutch with the stage 2 IE?
I didn’t need to, the stock clutch can handle the power of the IE stage 2 tune.
what is making that whistling sound!!!! I need
Jp'sTechAdvice Intake
did you ever take this to a track day?
No, I never did. It probably would not have faired well. It was on stock brakes/pads. With upgraded brakes and a rear sway bar it would’ve been okay though.
@@NikPreusser oh ok Thanks for your input. Definitely gonna go for bigger brakes and struts with sway bars for sure. It does seem pretty nimble, handling wise, as it has the same rear suspension as the GLI.
whats your downpipe? stock? no way!!!!
izwabbit stock! Just the cat-back with the IE Power Kit.
Where did you buy your integrated engineering parts? Please would really help😔

Looks like Nik lives and works in UT so Integrated Engineering is a local company.
does it have a lot of drone on the highway??
Colby it had quite a bit of drone. It wasn’t unbearable, but got annoying on really long drives (2+ hours).
Nik Preusser oh okay. i’m looking in mabye getting a golf later in the future so wanted to know how bad it really is. how’s the fuel economy with all the mods on it?
Colby same, if not better. I could get 40mpg highway on a regular basis. City was around 28.
Nik Preusser damn that’s really good. definitely going to look into a golf now.. that fuel economy is way better than my 2.4i volvo s40.. it gets like 17...
@@NikPreusser how in the hell were you managing to get 40 mpg on the highway and 28 in the city? the best i've managed to get yet (and that was only driving on the highway) was 23 mpg, usually i get around 21, and the worst i got (driving in montreal) was 16 mpg
In the USA you have real VW engines, in Europe engines from turbine drills.
how much horsepower do you have now?
219hp/188tq
I have a TDI. I’ve driven both the 2.5 and the TDI - The 5 sounds better but the TDI is definitely quicker.
on the inside that thing sounds like a v8
ShinoSkylineGTS More like half of a v10 lol.
Thats a wierd V8 you're listening to then.
It does sound like a v8 from the inside
Завидую вашим класным дорогам!!!)))у нас в рашке дороги пиздец!!!)))
It's a stage 2 Pram. lol
M5 V10 with volkswagen badge
more like half of a lamborghini gallardo motor
sounds like a viper
