Hoyt makes an Awesome bow! Still one of my favorites is my Hoyt Nitrum 30, dont think I will ever get rid of it!

Yeah I'm still shooting with an old Buckmasters bow a little heavy but I like it plus didn't pay but $50 brand-new in box. The guy at the archery shop keeps telling me he's going to get me to buy a new bow. Lol! When I do though it's going to be Hoyt. One of my brother's has one and loves it. Nice bow Bill. Enjoyed the video.

Thanks Mark. Bow are a lot better now than when the Buckmasters came out. If you shoot one of the "modern" bows you will be shocked how much better they feel in the hand and how much faster they are. But, you can still kill about anything with those older bows. Good luck. - Bill

Josh, there are low priced options. The very best way to get into the sport is to buy a good solid used bow. Some archery dealers have them, but I have also seen a lot of very good bows sell pretty cheap on e-Bay. I know it still sounds like a lot, but you can get into bowhunting for $300 if you shop carefully. Good luck. - Bill

Hey Bill, curious if you have any recommendations for someone (me) who seems to be lost in finding the right release aid to shoot with. For about 8 years I used an index finger release with my Hoyt SuperHawk but never sustained consistent accuracy with it (it was a cheaper model). This past year I tried experiencing with a Tru-Fire T-Handle release aid with 360 degree head rotation. I developed really bad target panic with the T-Handle and now I'm lost in finding the right option. Always appreciate your videos and feedback. Good luck this season.

Brent, I beat target panic by using a back tension release. These don't have triggers and you make the shot fire by pulling through the shot and naturally pivoting your hand. All you can do is aim and pull and the shot takes you by surprise. The surprise release is the key to beating target panic. TP is caused by your brain wanting to issue a "Now" command to your trigger finger. By eliminating that timing, you eliminate TP. Then, I switched back to the standard index trigger release a couple weeks before bow season but focused on squeezing the trigger to create the same surprise release rather than commanding it (which will cause a relapse of TP). The Scott Longhorn is a typical example of a back tension release. That is the only way that I found to really beat target panic for good. Good luck. -Bill

What is that clicking noise when you draw the bow back? You can hear at at 0:04 and then again at 3:45.

The grip. I removed it and put a little light grease on it and put it back. It is adjustable. There is a plate under the grip that you can move side to side and that was clicking against the actual grip itself when I started the draw. Fixed now. - Bill

I see you are shooting longer vanes and four fletch? I shoot the vanetec 2.25 four fletch and my groups are tighter out at longer distances..are you still shooting your bow out to 60 at all now that season is in?

A fellow made these arrows for me. I always three-fletch with Blazers, but I do like the performance of the four-fletch. I need to learn how to do that. I have not been shooting past 40 yards for the past couple weeks. During my break here I need to stretch back out there again just to keep my form together. Good luck. -Bill

Bill, I am going to be new to archery. Would you recommend me to get this bow? Ive been a long time fan and viewer of MW! I keep hearing from family members and friends to go all out on a new bow, so that I won’t regret it. What are your insights and thoughts? Is this bow going to give me a smooth draw? Obviously, I know I would have to go to the shop to shoot it but wanted opinions on it first.
    Thank you!

Pao Chaua - It is a great bow but expensive. If you can afford it without having to stress too much then yes, I would buy this bow. I really like it. If the price causes you to cringe then you need to look at other options. Within the Hoyt line, the PowerMax is a really good bow and a good price. If price is an issue, consider that one instead. -Bill

Yes, I will look into the PowerMax as well. Thank you again.

I'll grab the Rx 4 in February.

It is a very nice bow. As of right now, this is the best I have ever shot a bow right out of the box. Probably helps that it is a lot like the RX3 so I don't have a new feel to get used to, but I really do like that super solid back wall at full draw. That rest system is pretty sweet too. -Bill

I'm looking for a smooth, easy drawing bow..

This one is pretty smooth, but there are smoother bows out there and even some in the Hoyt line. The trade-off is speed. The smoother the less the energy it stores and the slower it shoots for any given max draw weight. Bow companies always try to find a good compromise between super smooth and fast. -Bill
