Kingdom of Heaven is a 2005 epic historical drama film directed and produced by Ridley Scott and written by William Monahan. It features an ensemble cast comprising Orlando Bloom, Eva Green, Ghassan Massoud, Jeremy Irons, David Thewlis, Brendan Gleeson, Edward Norton, Marton Csokas, Liam Neeson, Michael Sheen, Velibor Topić and Alexander Siddig.
The film is a heavily fictionalised portrayal of the events leading to the Third Crusade, focusing mainly on Balian of Ibelin who fights to defend the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem from the Ayyubid Sultan Saladin.

A point of this scene is the quality of both characters. He is low-born and takes water for what it is, drinking from a "yard bucket" and "dirty" ladle. She is high born, but accepts his gift - water in the desert.

One of the best historic epic movies ever made...I've watched it several times and will watch it several more....
Unfortunately they've missed the opportunity to make a real great movie and contended themselves with stereotypes and cliches. King Baldwin was a really great man, a hero and a saint unfortunately you have to read between lines to be able to understand pieces of his tragic life. The story should have been centered around his character, and yet he's been reduced to a secondary character, albeit genially interpreted by Edward Norton...
