I don’t. Roger is the better voice actor. People just don’t realize it because Sega has only ever given him shitty lines to say. Jason had better lines but he puts corny 4kids inflections on dumb parts of the line. “thAT torNADo is carryING a cAR!” All you have to do is watch Sonic Boom the TV show vs the English dub of Sonic X to see that Roger is actually the better VA.
Well of course he’s better in sonic boom, that’s where roger shines the brightest. He’s fucking PERFECT for boom sonic. Roger is a more sarcastic person, therefore that sarcasm will come across in his lines. Boom Sonic is sarcastic a LOT, so therefore Roger will naturally suit him more. However, even if roger was given the clearly superior writing from games like unleashed, it would still come across kind of corny, this being because sonic hasn’t been tweaked to how roger naturally says his lines. This is only magnified by the garbage writing of Sonic colors and onwards.

I will admit that unless you play through the game multiple times the music won't stick in your head for very long, if at all. Most of it is music meant to reflect where you are in the world, and sometimes it can be a little stale until you get to the more exciting places like Chun-Nan.
This is my favorite Sonic game I like how the camera is always behind him and not flying around everywhere. It makes it feel like a true running Sonic game, the action and game play is very arcade style.
People love to bash on this game and say it sucks because of the controls, then game plays fine for me and there is nothing wrong with it. People make it out to be bad when its so damn easy.
Monkey D. "Straw Hat" Luffy Couldn't agree more. Bad controls make the whole experience not worth it and it's a damn shame too because the game shines in everything else but they really had to force the Wii remote in the worst way possible and the result is a Sonic game that just isn't fun at all. Say whatever you want about 06's lack of polish and Shadow's stupid edgy themes and mission structure but I'd rather play those games than SR simply because they allow me to control the character freely.
Seriously Am I the only person that never experienced any issues with the Motion controls I mean yea would have been nice if Controller Gameplay with analog stick would be possible (especially given that the Party mode supports Gamecube controllers)

I’ve played this level constantly and tons, this being my favorite stage because of those light paths that are free for you to use Speed break and go crazy with them, and it’s a thrill!
If it's just a texture, that might be possible to do in Dolphin but the level itself would still have that orange shade (unless you'd change all the level's textures, which is kinda insane)

One of the best sonic games. Its a shame most people hated the game because of the perfectly fine motion controls. The story, level design, worldbuilding, characters, music, etc were all good. Only iffy part was the motion controls on some party games but for an early wii game it was expected. It looks amazing in 60fps too, they should remaster this with new controls tbh

This level makes Starlight Carnival look like a walk through the park! I wish there was a Levitated Ruins like level in the modern games. I mean Sky Sanctuary is technically a levitating ruin zone, but it's got an entirely different vibe to this.....though a texture edit could be a good idea for a mod....
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Starlight Carnival already a cakewalk? I just think there has to be a better example of some sort, like the Sonic Generations version of Planet Wisp.

Man I miss this game. It was janky sure, but Sonic's dialog during the levels encapsulated so much of his character. A carefree guy who's having fun despite having his life attached to a flame that's slowly going out. The newer characterization of Sonic post colors isn't necessarily bad, but I do miss this Sonic
4 years later but... Secret Rings actually kind of started the formula that later Sonic games kept using. The Red Rings. The Boost. The general Level Design and Movement. I wish another game used the Skill System that this game had though. Generations comes close, but it's not quite enough. But whether you think it's good or bad, Secret Rings is the game that started the Boost Era of Sonic. Which is a little ironic, since it was developed along side the game that killed the Adventure Era, Sonic '06.
Eh, not really. You don't start out anywhere near this fast, and you can't go this fast for every mission anyway. You just have to know how to get good at the controls.
This could be one of the best generations maybe better than the unleash project, what about a secret rings project that remade secret rings' levels, at least i think it would be cool

Yes, but there are missions where you WILL need to stop and slow down, so effective braking is also a skill you want to master. The control scheme is a little wonky just looking at it, but it's easy to master when you know how to utilize the skill rings properly. Like, I only played it recently, and it feels like me and everybody else played entirely different games.
I recently beat this game and I raged so much during the start of the game that I actually stopped playing for like a month before I started to beat it again (my favorite stage is skeleton dome)

they show it in the opening cutscene. He falls asleep while watching TV and then wakes up inside secret rings (I think he was eating onion rings or something). I like to think that after the credits roll he just wakes up.
This game definitely wasn't the best in terms of sonic but I will say that the sense of speed and spectacle of the stages was awesome. Also the music but that's a given with sonic games

they show it in the opening cutscene. He falls asleep while watching TV and then wakes up inside secret rings (I think he was eating onion rings or something). I like to think that after the credits roll he just wakes up.

This game definitely wasn't the best in terms of sonic but I will say that the sense of speed and spectacle of the stages was awesome. Also the music but that's a given with sonic games
