That last scene where sonic wished for a mountain of handkerchiefs was actually a super beautiful message. Shahra will probably have to heal for years after being under Erazor’s control, and Sonic knows that. In the beginning, Sonic said he was going to get her to smile, but he recognizes how hard that will be after all they’ve been through. At the very least, a ridiculous amount of handkerchiefs can help her cope with the pain she feels now until she gets to a point where she can smile.

Never played this game myself, but i've watched the final boss for this game so many times online and the whole "Darkspine Sonic" thing always hits me like a brick. The fact that Sonic's Hatred, Sadness, and Rage attracted the rings of the same name to him like that and you can hear his pain in his scream as he transforms suddenly. Then you can just hear how messed up in the head he is during the boss. That's some powerful stuff man.
A side of Sonic we almost never see one that acts out of anger and rage SEGA really needs to give us more oppertunites to have sonic let go of his restraints and just go ham on his enemies that cocky super sonic cant do
“I will never grant any wish from the likes of you!” The way Sonic sits down after Erazor says that is just as good as him saying. “I’m not giving you a choice.” I love that 😊

I like to think that Darkspine Sonic is what could have been Sonic's true transformation as a result of the Seven World Rings, but it was altered by Sonic's anger towards Erazor and grief towards Shahra's death. That explains his perpetual anger and rage throughout his bossfight. Notice he's barely giving hints himself (most of them are given by Shahra's voice/spirit). It's because he's struggling to retain his sense of mind. If Sonic hadn't mustered up the will to revert his transformation, he could have become completely lost to his grief. Makes sense really. He's never personally dealt with the death of someone close to him.
It took me a minute to realize that Alf Layla Wa Layla discarded the Hatred, Sadness, and Rage Rings and they went to Sonic, who was still processing Shahra's death. That's why he sounds almost in pain, anguish, and has rage in his voice. Kind of a bit like Werehog Sonic. It's a bit of a similar concept.

So apparently Darkspine Sonic was unintentional. Erazor was suppose to sacrifice Sonic (The one who gathers the rings) to get the 7 world rings powers. But because he killed Shahrah instead, the sacrifice was only partially made. Someone was sacrificed,yes, but not the ring gatherer. This is why Both Sonic and Erazor are looking so messed up. Like Sonic said, “You’re just some *incomplete* monster”

The ending to this game is very satisfying. As sonic makes 3 wishes like bring the ring genie back to life, restore the story’s to how they were and the pure satisfaction of hearing him banish erasyer back into the lamp. A very satisfying ending.

I remember getting both black Knight and secret rings. Didn’t play black Knight that much but boy did I play this a whole lot. So much fun, even for both of them.

The game isn’t hard and people recognize it for the strong points you’ve mentioned, it’s primarily criticized for its buggy and generally un-fun and forced motion control mechanics via the Wii, I think it’d be a lot more recognized if it was a 360/PS3 title with fluent gameplay
DashBOI Are you serious? Is the gameplay perfect for you? It's woody and you had to stick with your arms thanks to the wii mode. I can accept the story, the music, the voices and the bosses but the gameplay is horrible. The beauty has been judged as a Black Knight's melee, which is also not that great, but it is certainly better than this

Having played this game years ago along with Black Knight,Their both really underrated and good games! Good Plot,And Great Final Battles!
I guess people Just trowed rocks at the games becuse of the "controls" also that was the same Issue with free riders oh yeah free riders doesn't have controls well it should why haven't any liveing soul did a mod that fixed that Issue same with Sonic unleashed a mod that removed the werehog battle music and that thing the boost do with the music

Shahra will probably have to heal for years after being under Erazor’s control, and Sonic knows that. In the beginning, Sonic said he was going to get her to smile, but he recognizes how hard that will be after all they’ve been through. At the very least, a ridiculous amount of handkerchiefs can help her cope with the pain she feels now until she gets to a point where she can smile.
Man, this game could have been so freaking awesome, it had it all, epic music, nice story and Darkspine Sonic's design is so good, but the controls ans structure of the missions really make it painful to play

In reality Darkspine Sonic is inferior to Super Sonic, that form don't have even half of the power of the Super form.

The game isn’t hard and people recognize it for the strong points you’ve mentioned, it’s primarily criticized for its buggy and generally un-fun and forced motion control mechanics via the Wii, I think it’d be a lot more recognized if it was a 360/PS3 title with fluent gameplay

DashBOI Are you serious? Is the gameplay perfect for you? It's woody and you had to stick with your arms thanks to the wii mode. I can accept the story, the music, the voices and the bosses but the gameplay is horrible. The beauty has been judged as a Black Knight's melee, which is also not that great, but it is certainly better than this
