    Don't push anything to resume after the light turns green. That is not necessary. If you have the cruise control set and you are behind another car at a traffic light, when the car ahead of you moves, the cruise control will get you back up to speed without you having to do anything. If you push the resume button during this the cruise control will increase it's set speed. Most of the time, dealers don't know what they are talking about because they don't bother to read the user manual. They just want to express the cool and innovative features so they can sell you a car. Js

    Question though that i havn't found any answers to. When the car automatically stops while using the radar cruise control, does it activate the rear brake lights as if you are pressing the brakes yourself? Reason i asked is i'd be worried if the car brakes by itself withoug activating the brake lights somebody might not see the car is slowing down and may end up rear ending you?

    • @CarDietrich
      @CarDietrich  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, the system does illuminate the brake lights when it applies the brakes to let the people behind you know whats going on.

    • @CarDietrich

      According to Toyota, Full-Speed Range DRCC is designed to operate between 0-110 mph. That's about 177 kph! I did not go that fast with this car so I can't say for sure if that is accurate. Most adaptive cruise control systems I have used set the top end at 90 mph, which is closer to 140 kph.

      Correct. Dynamic Radar Cruise Control does not recognize or react to road signs or traffic lights, just the vehicle directly ahead as long as its locked on.

    • @CarDietrich
      @CarDietrich  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is standard on all 2022 Toyota Sienna models. None of these vehicles will bring themselves to a stop just for a red light, they do not read traffic lights. However, if the system is engaged and locked onto the car in front of you and the car in front of you stops at a traffic light, the Toyota can bring itself to a complete stop in that situation.

      Unfortunately that's a little harder to demonstrate on camera. The car will follow the Lane lines if it can read them, but it would just be like "uh, ok, we're going through the curve now." The car still wants you to keep your hands on the wheel so it wouldn't look like much

    I have a 2012 Toyota Camry, WITHOUT the stupid Radar system on the cruise control. I have rented Camrys with the radar system and I HATE IT! It can be turned off, but you must go through procedure of turning off this radar crap EVERY TIME YOU START THE ENGINE. I will not buy a new Toyota unless/until they allow this crap system to be shut off permanently. In my opinion the radar crap system sucks.

    In this scenario when your car is stopping at a traffic light due to being locked onto the stopped car in front of you, will the car then accelerate for you again from a dead stop when traffic begins to flow? I have a 2022 but I haven't tested the full stopping part yet 😂

    • @CarDietrich
      @CarDietrich  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Per the 2022 Toyota Venza Owner's Manual (That's the vehicle I filmed this with):
      Fine adjustment: Press the switch.
      Large adjustment: Press and hold
      the switch to change the speed,
      and release when the desired
      speed is reached.
      In the vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode, the set
      speed will be increased or
      decreased as follows:
      Fine adjustment: By 1 mph (1.6
      km/h) or 1 km/h (0.6 mph) each
      time the switch is pressed
      Large adjustment: Increases or
      decreases in 1 mph (1.6 km/h) or
      1 km/h (0.6 mph) increments for
      as long as the switch is held
      If you have a different model or you're in a different region (I'm in the US market), check your owner's manual. I found this under "Radar Cruise Control"

    • @m3photo726
      @m3photo726 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep. Depends on the region. In Europe for example the ACC varies in 5 km/h increments. The normal CC however, so I’m told allows for 1 km/h increments. I’ve never bothered with it.
