    I like how you place high value on active listening (becoming an active listener) and adding our own individuality into the music we are learning how to create! For me and in my experience as a singer, I know it's what makes your music exceptional! I gotta go now and do my drum programming active listening. 😊Thank you for the great content!

      I personally don't mind, some things really need explaining, perfect example right here, if you want to
      programme drums properly..theres no quick way about it. but you are very capable of delivering the info
      at a steady pace with live examples..then you move on, Time stamps as well, your a professional.
      Other subjects like how to sample etc can be accomplished in a few mins.

    So great! Thank you! I have been studying music my whole life. Been at Berklee for the better part of two years for production, composition, and mixing. I think programming drums is one of the hardest and coolest things to do. Anyways, to find someone who talks about the art of subtle variation, what I call the Golidlocks of departure and returning is what can make all the difference in a great section. It is hard to wrap your mind around but it is key! Love your approach. Thanks again :)

    Great video Max! The best drummers make you forget that there is a 4 limb limitation. Everyone can play a straight forward rhythm, but ghost/grace notes and fills is where style comes in. Don’t forget, the space between the notes is just as important as the notes themselves. 😁

    You briefly talked about more sporadic hi hat patterns in the fundamentals section but I’d appreciate some tips on creating these kind of patterns. Carter Beaufort from Dave Matthews also plays stuff like that regularly and whenever I attempt to write stuff like that it always sounds chaotic.

    • @maxkonyi
      @maxkonyi  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So funny you mention Carter - his playing was a huge inspiration for me, particularly his hi hat placements. Have you seen the videos where he talks about his view on that technique?
      I will be releasing a drum programming course in the next little while and that kind of thing will be in there. Could get it into a YT video soon as well...

  • @WojciechKobus
    @WojciechKobus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I find drums and patterns really difficult. I mean I can feel the grooves easily but when it comes to analyze or recreate patterns it's not easy.

    • @maxkonyi
      @maxkonyi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's all practice and familiarity, of course. Learning some drumming fundamentals, like I mention, goes a long way. Being able to drum with your hands, or even beatbox, is very useful. It will all become easier the more you try!

    How much time do you think it would take to learn studio one professional, to producing music?

    • @maxkonyi
      @maxkonyi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on how much time you have to practice. If you make music everyday, it won't take very long. By following my course here on TH-cam, you will learn a lot and have a good foundation.
      To master music production takes a long time, like any art form. I am not a master and I've been doing it for 15 years haha!
