    Thank you dear lady, I so appreciate how you help us all. A big smile and a beautiful Bodie doggie too. It is 63 degrees fahrenheit here in the Uk waters at the moment but the change in the air temp means for more layers. I tend to go in having warmed up and let myself warm up gradually afterwards, sometimes taking cold shower an hour or two after too, depending how I feel but I find when we walk into the cold, the cold stay away. It is such a teacher. Essentials are a warm few layers of clothing easy to put on. 2 pairs of leggings, 2 pairs of socks, a warm drink and something to eat, then to move gently around until warm. Body temp continues to go down for the first half an hour after leaving the water. Happy swimming. I am entering into my second winter in the sea and it has help me and so many others in amazing ways. Let us know how you get on. Peace love and light. 😇

      Thank you so much for all of the lovely considerations. So many I have met here swim successfully year round and I know it brings great healing to them. I spent many cold winters in Wisconsin and Colorado outside loving the cold and snow. I even enjoy winter camping! I know that will be one of my misses here in Ireland. I am a winter girl for sure. I have a great respect for, but little knowledge of the sea though. A wood burning hot tub with kelp is more my speed at the moment 😂😍. But I will hold your advice near. Continue to enjoy your watery journey into fall 🙏

    Megan I have to say thank you for bringing your teaching of somatic yoga to my life. I am seriously considering your somatic course in October because of how healing your practices have been for me the past few weeks. I need this in my life!
    With the swimming legs move my right hip snaps. Not painful just snapping. What does this reveal out of curiosity? I am still trying to learn the imbalances of my two sides.
    I know That I have serious dysfunction in the sacrum and pelvic bowl. Three weeks ago I was about to see an orthopedist because I was in so much pain after a yoga class I did.
    Then I found you and my life literally changed ❤

      Thanks Amanda. As a yoga teacher, I struggled for years with my sacral joint. Somatic yoga really is the savior to help stabilize it so I can do other things more comfortably. I have many videos on SI joint if you search my channel. And we cover it quite a bit in my training. I cannot diagnose the snap in your hip, but the noise is usually normal and there is “snapping hip syndrome”. But you have to decide if it is something to avoid. Let me know if you have questions about the training and thanks 🙏

    Thankyou Megan that was soooo good ! Re cold water swimming try the Wimhof protocol you do a special pranayama before you go in the cold its a bit like the breath the sherpas use for climbing Everest. mixed with some long breath holds at the end of the exhalation. It really preps your body & makes it a lot less torttuous !

    • @MeganMacCarthy

      Thank you Susanna for the suggestion. I am honestly not a big fan of breathing practices that take me out of my comfort zone and find his methods too extreme. But they work for so many!

    Thank you for this amazing class Megan, I loved how you created a new definition of joints for me ..the relationship between stability and mobility ... I also chuckled when Bodhi ( sorry if I misspelled his name) chose to continue sitting where he was ha ha and you had to move around..so precious :)

    • @MeganMacCarthy
      @MeganMacCarthy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Leela, thanks for commenting and I am glad you picked up on the joints as relationships. That helps me a lot when they are cranky! Yes, Bodhi is quite a ham - he is always on my mat when I practice and it’s hard to explain to him that I’m filming 😝 peace to you ☮️

    U R a messenger of the matrix!!! Have taught me how to program my body and activate my muscles much easier and better than all these other “muscle activation” exercises that threw me in a cycle of overexerting and misusing energy. Thank you so much!!

    Thank you, I'm on the 7th day of COVID recovery and this was the perfect practice to get moving again🥰☯️
    Also the WIM HOF Method is great for cold water swimming, as well as releasing traumas from the body and resetting the parasympathetic nervous system 💜🙏

      Keep recovering Lea and I am so happy you can still do your practice. About that cold water, I have decided that the river in my yard is quite lovely and will work my way up to the cold sea…in June or July when it’s warmest 😎😍✌️

    Respected madam. I'm unable to sit like you were doing in the beginning i guess it is called long sit pose .
    I was bed ridden 95% time for last 6 month. Anyway i can get back to normal. Can u just address me which muscles are tight, my back is very tight, apart from that?

    • @MeganMacCarthy
      @MeganMacCarthy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, thanks for the contact and questions. I am unable to answer your question about the muscles. However, if the sitting is uncomfortable, you can sit against a wall for more support. Or perhaps start with this video as it is all reclining. Peace, Megan th-cam.com/video/R7c3klW728Q/w-d-xo.html
