I was fascinated at your comparison video. The skin tones is one clue as when people are editing their photos some love to 'crank up' the redness for a tanned look, but can look a bit too red so am a natural at whether someone has done this. I found it bizarre on both comparisons that they require a button cell battery! I thought that was just for the motherboard to preserve date and time. One cartridge is like biting into a gold coin and the other one is like biting into a fool's gold chocolate coin!
You forgot to mention the most obvious clue. Repro's have a round dot on the i and the original has a square dot on the i on the back of the cartridge. The original cartridges also have a stamped indentation in the back sticker.
Yep though now the reproductions have adapted and started making some changes. I've seen some without the round I dot and some doing indentation stamps too. They don't usually look right but they do throw people off

There are a few authentic games that have the white instead of the brown an example is re2

Wait what? I guess I’ve never seen you with you hat off.
How well does the reproduction work? Would be great if you did a gameplay comparison.

So if I felt for the hype and bought fake carriages, is there anything I can do?
In terms of what? They may be fine. You could return them if they are indeed fake. Hopefully you didn't pay a whole lot for them.
