    Just had a dealer charge me $988/part and $1036/labor for my 15’ CRV. Learned my lesson. Great video btw!

    You saved me over 400 in labor. Thank you so much. I only had to spend on the part and a couple tools.

    Those clis and retainers are pretty much a pain in the ass, but they keep things neat under the hood. Great video. Thanks.

    Well not really I changed the plugs coils and just recently the fuel injectors to no avail so then I started hunting on Honda forums and saw this was a common issue looked your video changed it and wallah ! She cranked right over and is running better then ever

    • @MobileCarMechanic

      Glad the video helped! I found that HPFP failure is pretty common on the earlier models and will typically set a code. Not really heard anything about injectors. Glad you’re back on the road again. Cheers!

    Good video. At the end, you dont have to prime it before cranking it?

    • @MobileCarMechanic

      You can prime it by turning the key from off to accessory mode 3 times and you’ll be good to go. Otherwise you will have an extended crank till the fuel gets delivered to the engine.

    Great video! I replaced the fuel pump and it seems to be spraying gas Not from the high pressure (17mm) nut, but behind that on the new part that’s already built in….could the part be defective?

    • @MobileCarMechanic

      The 17mm is the fuel being sent to the high pressure fuel pump by the low pressure fuel pump, the bottom line is the return line back to the fuel tank. If the engine is running fine then this is not an issue.

      I bought one from amazon. worked for a couple days and then had this same problem. I think the part is defective (from China). if you are spraying fuel that is definitely a problem. I will be installing new $800 part today. Save yourself the pain and just buy the correct part

    Would this procedure work on a 2016 honda pilot as well? V6 engine?

    • @MobileCarMechanic

      Different engine but the concept should be somewhat similar.

    What issues was the owner experiencing that made them determine it was the hpfp going bad?

    • @MobileCarMechanic

      The engine was running rough like it was misfiring and a loss in performance was the giveaway that something wasn’t right. Also the P0087 code being set!

  • @user-ei9vu9nc9u

    I didn't see if you had any gasket on the new one when you put it on? Does it need a new one? And does the new pump come with a oring? Also were there any other symptoms that showed you that the pump was bad?

    • @MobileCarMechanic

      The new one has an O-Ring reinstalled. No gaskets were on the old or new one. No leaks and customer is happy! Also you the vehicle will run rough and through a P0087 code due to low fuel pressure.

      On my 2015 Honda accord, it went into limp mode (wouldn't go above 2k rpm) and a couple dash lights came on (check engine, tire pressure, traction control, steering)

      @@David-tj1eo I have symptoms, same lights. Did replacing the pump fix your issues?

    Do you know if this is because of the code P0087?

    • @MobileCarMechanic
      @MobileCarMechanic  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The P0087 is a low fuel rail/system pressure code, could be any part of the fuel system but I've found that replacing the High Pressure Fuel Pump is the fix most of the time.

      I had the same issue last week. Just changed the high pressure fuel pump bought from amazon for $140. It looks new but the cap of the part. They scratched the brand on the cap. It might be renewed? Or it might be new but not original. Hopefully it can last long.

      @MobileCarMechanic  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It was 497 when I purchased it and then we added overnight shipping which basically made it 580. Now it’s 517 before taxes and shipping. www.hondapartsnow.com/genuine/honda~pump~assy~fuel~high~pressure~16790-5la-305.html
