    WOW! I just did this for the first time on my 2014 Honda Accord after getting a check engine light at 175,000 miles. The engine light diagnostic showed Error Code P0087: Fuel Rail/System Pressure Too Low. I thought it might be the fuel pump which would’ve been around $1500 to fix. So before doing that, i changed the air filter and used the CRC GDI Intake Valve & Turbo Cleaner and i must say I’m extremely happy! Not only did the engine light go off and i saved myself a lot of money, but after about the second day as this cleaner continued to work it’s magic, my Honda is running like she’s in her early 20s again! I highly recommend treating your car with this!
    Thanks for this video!!!

      I wish I saw your comment before I change the high pressure fuel pump but didn’t pay that much $150 on eBay for the part and about $250 on labor at the shop.

    Hi Russel, I've been looking to clean my 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe XL engine with this CRC formula. After looking at several videos, I believed yours to be the best with that closed to vacuum tube system directly into the engine, just like you did. Just came back from doing it now and it worked wonderfully, no check engine lights at all. Some smoke at first after the one hour wait but it now does idle silk smooth. Thanks a lot for your video! Thums up!

    Update: Technical Support Team at CRC tells me that they can't guarantee that the product will be properly atomized if the hose extension is longer than 6 inches. They recommend directly spraying the product into the vacuum port.

      I was wondering that as I could see a build up of fluid in that tube as he was spraying. I have a 10th gen and I think I’ll take the pcv hose off the intake side by my catch can and have someone spray directly into the nipple while I keep revs up👍🏼

    I had the same warning lights come on as well. Blinking engine light, electric steering , tpms. I used sea foam thru the throttle body though. Same affect, car does run better after it self corrects itself. I ran it hard for 10 minutes then parked it and shut it off. Upon re starting everything cleared out.

    Recently did this procedure on a 2016 Honda Pilot 2wd Touring. Went in at air cleaner just past MAF sensor. After the one hour heat soak, took for 10 min drive per instructions. All the Honda sensors light up like a Christmas Tree!! Had to use a INNOVA 3130 scanner to delete any codes. Not once, but twice!! LOL!! After that, the Pilot has been running fantastic and the idle is SUPER smooth. Did it around 70,800'ish Km. Enjoyed your video!! Merci!!

    Thank you for the video. I cleaned my intake valve using your method. I made one minor modification to your formula: I use a hose with a smaller inner diameter (2mm) just large enough so the straw can fit in the hose and adapted the hose end to the diameter of the vacuum port. If the hose diameter is too large, the liquid will lose its capillary action. A fun fact of using the hose is that the hose gets cold as you spray due to the expansion of the liquid (similar to the evaporator mechanism of a refrigerator). I also got the check engine light after this procedure, and the car limped along for a block billowing blue smoke, but the CEL turned off after a few restarts and the engine is running smoothly now. I appreciate you posting this video.

    I appreciate your generosity and public service. Has anyone ever used this product/ technique, and then pulled the heads to note the effectiveness on the valves??? My worry is overheating or poisoning my catalytic converter`s catalyst. How much danger is there for this?? what is best is hybrid direct AND port injection...... but it is expensive, and car manufacturers are competitive......and greedy. I have a 14 Kia Cadenza, direct injection with 27K. And I feel a very slight decrease in smoothness and responsiveness from new. Let me know, MJM

    Russel, great video but if you think of the wind currents in the intake and then induce fluid to it by way of the brake booster inlet please take a look at where that is on the manifold and you will see it will only favor the closer ports, the majority of fluid will be abundant on some of the valves an very little to some and maybe not even a drop of fluid will even reach some of the valves this system would only partially work if only the manufacturer would put the booster inlet immediate after the Throttle Body or Carburetor. Also, these products only work when they end up being vaporized, Please try this take the other end of your hose off the engine and then spray the aerosol and you will see it will only come out as a liquid not vaporized. Therefore you will only get a steady stream flowing on the inside of the manifold to only a couple of the valves. Thanks

    • @Rickbearcat
      @Rickbearcat 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've seen this product sprayed directly onto the intake valves of a BMW 6-cylinder engine. With both valves closed, he formed a liquid puddle on the intake side of the valves. This product does not need to be vaporized to work. Just the opposite in fact. It has to be and remain in a liquid state to coat and penetrate the carbon deposits for full effect.

      Might not be so depending on design of the manifold distribution pattern, because if that happened to the cleaning foam, this will also happen to the air distribution during normal drive. I think the new generation of car should have overcome this issue.

      @DIYAutoworksNG 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@marxseet You definitely have a point. Though since liquid is heavier than air, it could be plausible to have the cleaner gravitate towards the closer ports. I intend to do this but with before and after shots of the intake valves...

I didn't know the mantaines history of the car so I tried the CRC intake valve clean. I followed the video step by step but, I had to periodically allow some air in to the line so the CRC could be vacuumed in to the engine. Other than that it worked great! I am going to use the CRC Cleaner on my Ecoboost Mustang when I get a few more miles on it, now at 3000. I believe the cleaner should be injected into a central location before the intake manifold divides up to go to the individual cylinders. The vacuum port you are using is likely favoring one or two runners on the manifold and therefore not getting even distribution of the cleaner to all intake valves. There are numerous videos here on TH-cam showing this phenomenon and how oil from the PCV line will coat certain valves more that others . Also I saw a CRC video that indicated injecting the cleaner after the sensors at the throttle valve.

      Seafoam, BG, CRC, X66P, etc. are all basically the same make up. Ford has release bulletins that is will void warranty on any ford GDI engines, if you do this treatment to your gdi engine.
      These are safe
      with carbureted
      or port injection engines
      as the coking deposits are the "soft carbon"
      and very little to loosen and expel.
      GDI engines the valves run far hotter with no fuel touching them any longer to cool and clean them, so when used, these absorb into the deposits causing them to swell and expand and break loose a portion and most is then expelled out the exhaust
      where it makes contact with the catalytic converters and clog's and/or causes damage from the cooling shock of this solvent hitting the catalyst honey comb material when it is up to temp.
      The real damage though is from the smaller particles forced down between the pistons and cylinder walls as it can be as hard and abrasive as sand. That is never good as the scratches/scouring left allows even greater blow-by and oil consumption.
      We also see a high incidence of rod bearings failing shortly afterwards if oil and filter are not immediately changed to remove the solvent and particulate matter forced into the crankcase.
      Now on port injection engines, these have been and can be used safely,
      but they do not have intake valve coking issues like GDI engines.

      Morriosn Jim
      Cleaning the throttle body is different
      Never do this to your gdi engine
      When carbon falls of your intake valve it will scratch or scour your cylinder walls
      Which would result in loss of compression and could start oil consumption
      And you could even damage your catalytic converter.

    Great video. We have a 2015 Mazda 3 and a 2015 Honda Fit both with GDI engines and I plan to do the same CRC treatment to both of them. My main concern is picking the right engine hose to disconnect and attach the clear hose with the plunger to. What should I look for in the many engine hoses attached to the engine to be sure I'm pulling off the right one to attach the clear one to so the cleaner will be sprayed on to the valves? Also, do you use up the entire can of cleaner per use? Thanks.

    Very interesting video and it seems like a great idea, especially for convenience of discharging the cleaner from the driver's seat. I was wondering if injecting the intake valve cleaner into the manifold through the brake vacuum hose is as effective as from the air filter side. My concern is that the cleaner might reach all the cylinders better through the air cleaner than through the manifold vacuum port. I am not sure how to tell the difference in effectiveness. Maybe a mechanic could chime in on this.

    • @jameskoralewski3583
      @jameskoralewski3583 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, no spray cleaner, including seafoam or other gasoline additives will fix your problem. The carbon must be mechanically removed from the head and intake valve to clear up the problem. $500 to your local dealer will be about right for them to mechanically clean the engine from the carbon. The permanent solution is to never buy another car that has GDI (Direct Fuel Injection) or has a timing belt instead of a timing chain, this is another $500 repair bill due every 100,000 miles or less.
