was about to buy this figure but as i arrived at the store, most of the ss ratchet's plastic has started to slightly yellowed why does every thing that hasbro made recently with white plastic so easily yellowed
Ngl the alt mode is giving me War for Cybertron (the activision video game) vibes. It's a breath of fresh air to see a cybertronian alt mode that actually looks like an alien vehicle and not an Earth car with some bits added to it.
Personally I like the Cyberpunk altmodes of Siege. I prefer vehicles that look like something, rather than a brick on wheels so this I find to be a bit better than the old WFC designs.
@@PerspectiveEnd I think there's definitely a balance that needs to be struck with this sorta stuff. You obviously want the alt mode to look like something, but at the same time (at least for me) you want it look spacey enough, especially if the context is that these characters have no concept of what a car for fleshbags is yet.
I think he looks really good, but i honestly prefer the 2007 ratchet than this, but the colir scheme and the alt mod is so unique, this is probably my favourite ss bee movie toy after the soundwave-brawn figures
I would call that hand movement as "Tea hands" The only collective complaint I have seen against that Ratchet is the looseness of his joint and that many have been yellowed in a matter of days.
I have noticed that the arms don't peg in well when you follow the order of operations in the instructions. If you don't they will peg in fine in my experience

Of course. I stopped doing the shoulder thing a while back because I just call it out now if you can't do it since it's more uncommon to not be able to. And Broken wrist is pretty good.
I got this Ratchet today and it’s actually pretty cool. But the swivel joint of the right is stuck. I tried taking it out twice and putting it back but nothing changed. And it’s at an slight angle so it pisses me off. The tolerance is also alright, but a bit loose. Very cool figure but these little things annoy me mad
@@PerspectiveEnd Swivel on the right arm. Sorry, I didn’t realise I never mentioned it. Anyways, believe it or not after messing with the figure for a while, it just started turning on it’s own without any problem. I didn’t even do anything so I’m not sure how it happened. I’m pretty happy tho, cause I was worried that the issue was permanent
Yeah, this figure looks amazing. Answering to the question, I think that you should call those joints narcissistic hands or knockout/sunstraker/tracks hands, cause God knows how much they help in a "look at my lustrous finish" type of pose
This design isn't "Over detailed" because the designers were good, because the designers are the same guys who made the later Bay film designs, but because this was such a rush job and they didn't bother accounting for a vehicle mode. And out of all the Bumblebee movie designs Ironhide and Ratchet looked the least like they belonged because there's basically nothing on them. They're a couple vents and circles away from just being solid rectangles. And yet at the same time these designs actually seem to do SOMETHING to set them apart from G1, like the shaping of the chest windows is meant to envoke the look of Ratchet's pipe frame chest from the original movie design, and the whole big shoulders thing started with Movie Ironhide. So unlike every other design these at least have a nod to the previous movie without them looking out of place on their designs, but they still look like a cartoon. I remember seeing the first Bumblebee Movie trailer that had these designs and I legitimately thought someone had just taken clips from G1 and slapped them together with the first trailer, and that's seriously not something I want from live action. It took me a few days of looking at the design of Optimus to even notice the pathetic attempt at giving him details.
They changed Optimus plenty come on. His stomach is an engine and not even a grill this time. Elbows are weird disk. It's definitely the most faithful, but it's still new and interesting. Plus he NEVER takes off the Mask HUGE PRO! But yeah, see stuff like this Ratchet is all I've ever asked of the movies, completely new designs, where I can see the character for the first time and just automatically know who they are.
@@PerspectiveEnd From everything I’ve seen, Nexus just wants to hate on the Bumblebee designs. And I agree with you, the Bumblebee movie designs are great for what most Transformers fans want to see out of live action transformers. They’re not entirely perfect, but from the majority I’ve seen, people see the Bumblebee designs as a step up from the Bay designs. Most people I’ve seen who prefer the Bay designs are people who grew up with the Bay films and have nostalgia for them. ALSO! Apparently PerspectiveEnd just got the Legacy Leader Blitzwing figure very early. It’s SS Wheeljack all over again.
@@PerspectiveEnd nothing in Optimus' stomach looks like an engine. Nothing about the design feels new. Nothing about the design is interesting. It's yet another G1 design, with some darker grey. It blends in with every other G1 Optimus on a shelf. There's nothing special about it. They could have made it a spacey design, but he looks nearly identical on Earth as he does on Cybertron. It's all just so god damn boring. RiD Optimus had grand scale combination features. Armada Optimus had an entirely different design than anything we've ever seen before. Energon Optimus had funky colours and a legion of drones he could combine with. Cybertron Optimus was a fucking huge beast of a guy and had giant fricken canons. Animated Optimus was a more youthful and inexperienced Optimus done up in a unique art style 1-3 Optimus had a gorgeous cinematic transformation where you could see where every single part of his truck mode goes Prime Optimus was a more streamlined version of the movie design, but not a direct translation leaving out quite a few details. RiD2 Optimus was... Well he had... Proportions. 4-5 Optimus had a very knight based design meant to tie in to a brand new origin story for him. And BBM Optimus... Is missing the grill and has out of place circles in his elbows. And like it's not even fair, because there's an unused concept art version that has a Cybertronian vehicle mode and it changes up the arms and chest and it looks so much cooler and had they used it it would have been the funky alien vehicle Optimus. But instead we got what we got, and it's just fucking boring. Changing two things on a boring design doesn't make the design less boring. I've grown so sick of the G1 Optimus design in the last 4 years purely due to the sheer overexposure it's always getting. Like it's why I grasped so quickly onto Legacy Optimus because it was finally not the same fucking G1 design again! It has a different colour scheme and different vehicle mode and he tows a different trailer but you can still tell it's Optimus because the core elements of the design are still there like they've been on pretty much every single Optimus design except for Armada and AOE. Bumblebee Movie Optimus is like Emmet from the Lego movie, where when everyone is talking about him they just kinda blank out about him. He blends in. He doesn't have that "something" that other people have going for them. Hell he doesn't even piggyback off of the "something" placed right in front of him as being a live action design. Like sure there's a lot of griebling, but then so did a lot of the WFC stuff did. And it's not even good griebling, where you can look at a part and tell exactly what it is and why it's there like... Optimus has pipes and drive belts on his arms that are also there on Cybertron and... Well... They don't look like they do anything. They're not there because his transformation to truck mode requires them to be there, because again they're like that on Cybertron and Bumble who also has a drive belt detail on him only has said detail while he has an Earth based form and he didn't have it on Cybertron. So why are these belts and pipes on his arms? If he ever goes to block a punch with his arms they're going to get destroyed. 1-3 Optimus accounted for something like that by having armour plates on his arms formed by the bonnet of his truck mode. Oh and again, what ARE the circles in his elbows!? Nearly no other design from the movie has circles in the elbows like that. They clearly aren't joints because his elbows don't bend sideways. What even is the stuff in his stomach? It's just seems to be stuff for the sake of stuff being there. Like they slapped it on last minute to say "there, we put stuff on the G1 design, now it's a movie design" which is honestly plausible.
@@PerspectiveEnd also as... Let's say "cool" as it was to see Optimus with a moving mask, 1 it moved entirely too much, 2 it's movements didn't exactly line up with what he was saying (because in the one movie Optimus has to lip sync to his voice actor the director chose to fuck over Peter Cullen) and 3 there was a lot of times where it just looked goofy as shit flapping about, like I burst out laughing to the frame where Optimus is supposed to be scared because his fucking nose has sunk halfway down from where it should be because his nose moves with his mouthplate for some fucking reason and the giant fucking eyes aren't helping.
if you untab the waist you can get some teapot. also the small pupils in the lightpiping is tight. this guy just feels so animated however you pose him. I hope the qc on ironhide is better.

Do you think they should keep the old, grouchy character he had since animated or something similar to siege where he doesn’t care about sides? (I think that’s what his character was, hence why he treated both Autobots and Decepticons)
Finally got my hands on the Skywarp and Thundercracker Earthrise 2 pack reissue and my goodness are they good. Skywarp's head is stupid but he is still an very good figure and this 2 pack is 100% worth the 120 AUD I paid.
@@PerspectiveEnd It has that weird different screaming head for some reason, would have just preferred the normal blank stare faces for starscream and thundercracker
"The monster from Jeepers Creepers"...damn, I thought the Bayverse Ratchet head looked familiar. Never could place it until now. The light piping is helped by the fact that it seems to be that glorious darker blue used on stuff like Classics Voyager Optimus, Reveal the Shield Jazz (*ESPECIALLY* RtS Jazz), etc. ...wait, people actually hate this figure?? They'd best be bringin' that same energy to Ironhide, cuz they're crazy and this mold rocks. (How Hasbro lets inconsistent tolerances slide: their QC department sucks)
I take it you never watched the first Roast I did on the 07 movie. Glad I could finally enlighten you. Wouldn't lighter colored light piping theoretically work better? Yeah, I've seen several review's of people just Shitting on it.
@@PerspectiveEnd Logically, you'd think that it would. But the Thrilling 30 Springer has this fairly light blue plastic for light piping (like around the same shade as the paint Takara used for MP27 Ironhide's eyes, so it's a REALLY light shade)...but it doesn't seem to catch as well. Same for Thrilling 30 Sandstorm, and it catches light a bit better after I touched up the back of his head with a black Sharpie. Though I think that Springer's problem is the cutout shape for the light to enter. 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️

I didn't know people were complaining about him, and tbh, now I don't want to know what they're saying. Also, I see what you're doing wrong with the arms in vehicle mode. The shoulders are supposed to peg into the thighs
That's the thing. They are pegged into the thighs, everything is where it should be but it's just not fitting together right, and I don't understand it.
Be like Perspective guys > hate Cybertronian alt modes because they look like nothing > get a figure with a Cybertronian alt mode that looks like nothing > uses imagination to still like the figure anyways (Just jokes)

If you had the bayverse studio series ratchet figure perspective end, I bet you would bash this figure on how horrible it is because it’s one of the worst because the hip joint on my 5 pack ratchet pops off when moving say the arm, feels to cheap compared to the rotf deluxe from 2009, and the parts of the vehicle mode won’t tan in if in vehicle form.

You get that Lightpiping noise out of my house. But yeah this is really good for the class. I don't know that it needs to be a voyager to be this good though. I mean there have been Amazing deluxes before.
@@PerspectiveEnd I grew up a G1 kid, so I am just happy this Ratchet has an actual head and torso
was about to buy this figure but as i arrived at the store, most of the ss ratchet's plastic has started to slightly yellowed
why does every thing that hasbro made recently with white plastic so easily yellowed
I've not had that problem so far. You can see that on mine, it even makes my Siege Ratchet look dull in terms of the white.
I just recently got the Ironhide version and I really love this figure. It is really good.
It's a lot more fun than people give it credit for.
the thinking wrist (i think with that waist a ms.nesbit joke could be made)
That's an idea I had not considered.
Call that feature sidewise sword-wielding wrists.
How bout Nail Checking wrists.
The transformation drove me mad the first few times. Now, I'm starting to enjoy it.
I found it interesting the very first time, probably because it was so different than what I anticipated.
I'm not even complaining about this Ratchet honestly, it looks alot cooler than his old cartoon counterpart lol.
I mean the old one was kind of supposed to look a little uncool. It was a late middle aged medic.
5:35 I just call it Optimus’s arm transformation. (I’m pretty sure most his transformations have his arm like that)
The most important Optimus. The Siege doesn't do that.
This has custom potential, perhaps a IDW ratchet and or Pharma. Some heads from shapeways and a bit of paint and you could make either of them.
I don't know if this could be Pharma, he's a bit too sleek for this but IDW Ratchet is on the table for this design.
I think he looks really good, but i honestly prefer the 2007 ratchet than this, but the colir scheme and the alt mod is so unique, this is probably my favourite ss bee movie toy after the soundwave-brawn figures
I prefer the bay verse ratchet the dark of the moon version is my favorite
@@Sky_8D I like the green on that version.
I'm not looking to hold a gorilla.
DOTM Ratchet looks awesome, it looks so much more unique.
@@skuffy4930 bay ratchet was actually normal in terms of proportions. He didnt have long arms.
I would call that hand movement as "Tea hands"
The only collective complaint I have seen against that Ratchet is the looseness of his joint and that many have been yellowed in a matter of days.
Tea hands?
I have not noticed him seem yellow, honestly my Siege Ratchet looks dirty compared to him
@@PerspectiveEnd With the posture of the hand makes me think that he is having a cup of tea, although it could also be coffee
I have noticed that the arms don't peg in well when you follow the order of operations in the instructions. If you don't they will peg in fine in my experience
I don't know what the intended order of operations is because I don't read directions.
Gonna try to pick this one up. I am really excited to see this in 3p. If they do it well I mean
Yeah a 3P figure of this could be really good.
I like this design.I liked animated and i like the bumblebee movie.long story short i like this figure.
Glad to hear it. It's a good one.
What if there is a movie about the Rainmakers, what would you think about it (because it's one of my many movies idea and I wanted to hear your opinion)
I mean I don't know if I want the BB Starscream mold more than once. Though I do want some rainmakers.
@@PerspectiveEnd great 😊 but don't worry I would have go with a modernised G1 version of them
God these bb figures are amazing, can't wait to get wheeljack
He'll get his review this week.
When I got mine the box is pretty dinked up but the joints are actually kind of tight on mine
Nice! You won the lottery on that guy. Even mine's a little loose.
@@PerspectiveEnd yeah I usually find myself with bad luck on these kinds of things but I guess this one time primus decided to cut me a break
now this made my day amazing
Nice happy to hear that.
i've never heard of people actually disliking this figure for what it is but the issues that it has with some copies yellowing in box
I've seen a good few reviews by people who hated this thing. Hilariously enough not one of them even mentioned the yellowing.
I have the same issue, I ordered my on Amazon got delayed for a week and my box got extremely damaged from the window to. And managed to scratch his test.
Man that sucks, some how mine was fine, sorry about yours.
Remember?
The wrist should be either broken wrist of folding wrist, and you forgot the shoulder cheating checkmark, so it was kinda akward 5:29
The swivel on the Arm or Legs?
@@PerspectiveEnd Swivel on the right arm. Sorry, I didn’t realise I never mentioned it. Anyways, believe it or not after messing with the figure for a while, it just started turning on it’s own without any problem. I didn’t even do anything so I’m not sure how it happened. I’m pretty happy tho, cause I was worried that the issue was permanent
I like your custom cybertronian g1 Wheeljack, I wish Hasbro would do something like that.
Thank you, and yeah I really wish that Hasbro would do it as well. We know they were planning something like that a while back.
Yeah, this figure looks amazing. Answering to the question, I think that you should call those joints narcissistic hands or knockout/sunstraker/tracks hands, cause God knows how much they help in a "look at my lustrous finish" type of pose
That is a solid idea.
@@PerspectiveEnd I Honestly don't think it's an Issue For Prime to have a Mouth, It's just that the previous Face design was Shit.
Animated Optimus was a more youthful and inexperienced Optimus done up in a unique art style
1-3 Optimus had a gorgeous cinematic transformation where you could see where every single part of his truck mode goes
Prime Optimus was a more streamlined version of the movie design, but not a direct translation leaving out quite a few details.
I got this last week. I do like it. 0 joint issues. But mine came yellowed right out of the fucking box.
Weird. As you can see mine makes my Siege one look dirty.
Other than the white plastic yellowing I've heard no complains about this figure
I find that mine has not done that yet.
I have been diagnosed with a terminal form of lung tumour
That gave me like a heart attack for a second. Maybe try not to do that in the future.
so is this a refrence to something
if you untab the waist you can get some teapot. also the small pupils in the lightpiping is tight. this guy just feels so animated however you pose him. I hope the qc on ironhide is better.
I mean I did mention the waist, and yes I hope Ironhide is more consistent.
@@PerspectiveEnd sorry I might have missed it lol.
I can't wait for mine! I love it!
Hope you continue to love it when you get it in hand.
The pose should be called nail check
Ooh Nail checking wrists is good.
you should call the articulation at the wrist broken wrist action.
A couple people have suggested that so far.
I love this figure, his legs are loose, but I don’t even care, the rest of the figure is sooo good
I'm glad to hear that didn't ruin it for you.
There is a headmaster box set that is just the heads of the Hasbro headmasters
Let us dub the "inward wrist joints" as "The Lockdown"
The Lockdown? How is that like Lockdown?
@@PerspectiveEnd as in how the original Lockdown; Animated DX has the infamous issue of his wrists sticking at a "hooked" inward angle because they can unfold all the way
3:23 - haha! You just never bought them in Russia. Like, i decided to get myself some transformers for the new year (Inferno and Warpath) and Warpath's box was just fine. But Inferno's one was destroyed and almost torn appart. And he was'nt transported with anything, except 2 other light carton boxes. That tells a lot about Ozon.
Well very clearly the driver had some agression to take out, and he used your package for that.
@@PerspectiveEnd same shit happens with almost every transformers packaging people bought. Hundreds of posts where people say how dissapointed they are because "it was kid's birthday present and now a good half of magic is ruined". Have no idea what they do to drivers that pisses them of so much, but they need to stop.
At long last! Ratchet can DANCE!
He's got those hips that don't lie.
@@PerspectiveEnd Also, I finally got an Origins/"Siege" Bumblebee. He is FANTASTIC
Man Ratchet is so cool :)
Also 5:35 Thats the 💅 hand
What is that Symbol supposed to mean?
Do you think they should keep the old, grouchy character he had since animated or something similar to siege where he doesn’t care about sides? (I think that’s what his character was, hence why he treated both Autobots and Decepticons)
I think he should have the Grouchy Character, it was both his Animated and G1 Characteristics, though it was more pronounced in Animated.
@@PerspectiveEnd And made more subtle in Prime. I will never forget Ratchet yelling “I needed that!”
That head paint looks almost vacuum metalized wtf haven’t seen something that chrome in years
Yeah it's quite shiny and well covered.
And if you haven't seen something that chrome than you haven't seen my previous review.
@@PerspectiveEnd i probably didnt considering how broken youtube recommendations are
Finally got my hands on the Skywarp and Thundercracker Earthrise 2 pack reissue and my goodness are they good. The are way better toloranced than the normal ER Starscream and every joint is nice and tight because of it. Skywarp's head is stupid but he is still an very good figure and this 2 pack is 100% worth the 120 AUD I paid.
What's wrong with Skywarps head?
@@PerspectiveEnd It has that weird different screaming head for some reason, would have just preferred the normal blank stare faces for starscream and thundercracker
Yo perspective, have you seen the awesome customs of SS ROTB mirage into jazz, prowl and smokescreen?
I might have, but I'm not sure which specific ones you are talking about?
@@PerspectiveEnd I don’t know who made them but I saw the ratchet head in the prowl and smokescreen and it sorta suited them
In my opinion the bumblebee figures space designs looked better then most of sieges space designs.
Well the Bumblebee ones are actually space ones for the most part, where Siege was more Cyberpunk.
Im going to call the rist joint the oui oui joint
Why are you going to call it that? Someone just suggested Narci-Wrist.
4:32 Which is ironic cause his whole face, aside from his eyes, is chrome.
Inverse face functionality.
3:23 And what was this chunk of metal? (Unless if you got this from a store and not delivered?)
It was basically just a chunk of steel, I needed it for a thing.
I'd love to see this in the movie colors, cause I'm a movie enjoyer and actually kinda like ratchets design...other than the head

Also, I see what you're doing wrong with the arms in vehicle mode. The shoulders are supposed to peg into the thighs
That's the thing. They are pegged into the thighs, everything is where it should be but it's just not fitting together right, and I don't understand it.
@@PerspectiveEnd Ah, my bad. In the vid, it looked like the side that was sticking down wasn't pegged in

I would not call it an improvement, but it about it's equal.
Be like Perspective guys

> uses imagination to still like the figure anyways
(Just jokes)
This is more of a thing that a lot of cybertronian altmodes. at least it has a cockpit, and it's not just a brick on wheels.
I’m back, with a video idea. You should make a what’s the best but this time not on a specific line of figure’s that share the same name but on all the figures that you’ve said is one of the most possible figures to truly settle the score on (their I say it) What’s the best posing figure
An interesting idea I had not considered. That's a good one to try. Though it would require an extreme change to the format.
Ratchet face haunts me.

And how are you liking it.
@@PerspectiveEnd it is my second favorite ss figure
If you had the bayverse studio series ratchet figure perspective end, I bet you would bash this figure on how horrible it is because it’s one of the worst because the hip joint on my 5 pack ratchet pops off when moving say the arm, feels to cheap compared to the rotf deluxe from 2009, and the parts of the vehicle mode won’t tan in if in vehicle form.
I have TONS of other figures to compare this to, it doesn't have to be one with the same name, and I find that it stacks up OK.
I dont understand why people dont like him he looks amazing just like most of the bumblebee movie ss figures
Yeah, I don't fully get it either.
