THANK YOU for bringing attention to how this show animates battle damage. So many modern TV is scared to make the Transformers actually seem damaged. They get blasted with a fusion cannon and just have a black smudge on their model.
Well the thing is, it's actual work. The problem with Modern CGI is it's made to be Cheap, it's a lot easier to draw damage in Traditional animation, then it is to break the models you made in CGI. So when Damage happens in CGI it costs a lot more money than the company might be willing to spend.
It's a cool detail for sure, but the thing is there's more to animation than just that. What's the point of a character getting their arm cut off if all the animation leading up to it is stiff and unconvincing? I love Beast Wars but I object to battle damage being the only consideration
Rattrap's character evolution is probably the thing that surprised and pleased me the most, as he, even though plainly good guy, was a real bastard. Sure, he kept his antics and attitude, but gained sense of responsibility and camaraderie. This season has that wonderful mist of mystery sorrounding it, as you described it. The monuments are wonderful plot device when we don't know who VOK are and the finale itself is just wonderful. I can't imagine being a kid back then reacting to Unicron's face emerging and all. Can't wait for you to review season 2 which has probably my favourite arc right at the start - coming of the fuzors.
Absolutely. Rattrap does mature a lot during the show. It's true what they say about the less you know the better. Nothing will ever be as compelling as trying to figure out stuff you don't understand. Unfortunately you will have to wait a while, this isn't like the "Week of Reviewing Beast Wars" or anything.
@@PerspectiveEnd honestly i know it's been a year (or two years, depending on what you define as 1 year), but i still want that s2 review!! it's my favorite season of Beast Wars
As any of you who choose to give this awesome show a chance, just remember to take a moment to appreciate the talent of the voice actors. Every time you see Rattrap and Dinobot bickering back and forth... Yeah, that's one guy! And that's also the same guy who plays Waspinator and will later play Silverbolt! As someone who has sat and drank with Scott McNeil at a convention, I will tell you that he's every bit as wacky as you think he'd be!
@@PerspectiveEnd I think you did a fine job! You made a lot of great arguments for the show from those who simply hate on the graphics and that is often times most people's main issue with it. Beast Wars was my absolute favorite show and I love showing it to new people now. I've even thought about making a TH-cam channel talking about BW as well as other transformers stuff but PaleoAnalysis has me so busy that the idea of starting ANOTHER channel feels kinda daunting.
Coincidentally, McNeil also voiced several characters in ANOTHER popular robot-based franchise, of the Japan-originated variety: Mobile Suit Gundam. Specifically, he voiced Duo from New Mobile Report Gundam Wing and Teniente Reed in the original show, the former easily being the more recognisable of the two characters. I'm a Gundam fan (the main Mobile Suit Gundam franchise all the way, though I have blacklisted one show and considering blacklisting another, newer one) so I think it was worth mentioning considering that both properties share a noteworthy voice actor.
@@NebLleb yeah, he also played Piccolo in the English dub of DBZ and Wolverine in X Men Evolution. Pretty much if you were a kid in the 90s or early 2000s, that man is a part of your childhood weather you realize it or not.
@@PaleoAnalysis Nice to see you remember the Ocean dub of DBZ! That dub had a unique history, in that it was funded by no less a company than FUNimation (now Crunchyroll), who picked Z after a first attempt at a dub of Dragon Ball didn't do well. Needless to say, once Z began airing on Cartoon Network's Toonami block, FUNimation realised they had a surprise sleeper hit on their hands and proceeded to dub not just the remaining episodes of Z with in-house actors, but also make a second, far more successful dub of Dragon Ball.
All of the 3 original beast wars seasons are masterpieces imo, great characters with a lot of personality, interesting plot, one of the best villains ever, and it doesn't overstay its welcome. I also like how they weren't afraid to make the show good because modern cartoons drop quality for entertainment (doesn't work) but beast wars show you can have both. The animation holds up surprisingly well imo, the backgrounds kind of suck but the characters are great, also I'm pretty sure this was the 2nd completed 3d cartoon ever. The designs are also amazing, wide range of colors and looks, glad they redesigned the animation models to not look exactly like the toys. The story is great and everything that happens was clearly planned from the get go. Beast wars is one of the only cartoons I can comfortably say is a 9(or even 9.5)/10, only bad element is like 2 characters aren't very good but they get rid of them early on.
It was not all plotted, from the start. There's commentary & online sources about it. First off, the writers knew nothing, NOTHING about Transformers. They went to old online bulletinboards & early TF websites (back when dial-up was the only way to get online - the early internet), & talked to fans, to get brought up to speed on G1. I think this went on upto the very end. 2nd, some of the artifacts/ landmarks you see early on, like The Standing Stones, were put there solely to get you thinking, & later were cleverly recycled into disguised alien tech. They did things that let it look planned, without the planning, & have admitted as much themselves. Transmetals & Fuzors were a mandate from Hasbro, because new toys, & Waspinator was planned to die in the lava, during the Quantum Surge, but fans loved the universe's chew toy too much, so Terrorsaus & Scorponok took his place. Some of the fans they talked to online made it into the show as references (sector names) & Easter eggs (translatable alien text spelling their name, as examples). One or 2 made it into the credits, listed as consultants, even. The whole thing leading up to the discovery of The Ark was kinda happy accidents that can fit together to do that, as the writers learned more about Transformers, & sprinkling references in. Now, from the discovery of the Ark onward could've been planned. But at least season one & much of season 2 was basically adlibbed by the writers, as they learned on the fly & adapted to corporate mandates. It makes it more amazing non-Transformers writers crafted such a fluid story, while learning about the topic, as they went. And that some of this stuff became canon, like the entire concept of Sparks. Important SPOILERS BELOW - deleted episode info below Even the oddity of Dinobot II regaining the original's honor had an explanation (it wasn't meant to be out of nowhere), but that episode was scrapped, probably due to budget, sadly. (Short version, Dinobot made a copy of his memories, a few episodes before Code of Hero -he knew stopping Megatron would be a suicide mission, days or weeks, before- & in the deleted ep., Rattrap goes on a mission to upload it into Dinobot II. He thought it had failed, until Rampage's half of the spark was destroyed).
Absolutely, Beast Wars was the full package. I can say that I wish we had just a bit more, but nothing of consequence. The plot we had was almost perfect.
IMO, Beast Wars was the PERFECT sequel show to the original The Transformers, keeping what worked about that series, replacing the choppy outsourced animation with timeless and smooth CG animation, and also adding in a focus on a select cast of characters, meaning everyone gets equal amounts of attention and everyone has a role to play! I mean, sure, other TF shows have come and left their mark of quality (namely Animated and Prime, though Armada and Cybertron have their cult followings), but Beast Wars was the first truly great Transformers show. And it deserves to also be recognised for that.
One thing I didn't like about tf kingdom netflix series was that they didn't use the transformation sound effects for the the beast characters, they used the g1 transformation sound effect. That's something I liked about beast wars, each character had their own transformation sound effect.
I honestly forgot that the show had “bad” animation is the first five mins of the first episode, not even the third. Plus I’m a retro sucker. I love bad, old, charming stuff, like 80s movies where every sound effect was off and recycled throughout every movie in that era. We all remember that classic gunshot that’s just an explosion for a sound effect or whenever someone gets punched it sounds like someone punched a large piece of meat or a pile of fruit. I’m grateful that you and Jobby convinced me to watch the show. I grew up with Prime, so I have a nostalgia for it and I still consider BW better.
Hey! 80s Movies weren't bad! Also explosions do sound more like Gunshots then they do a big Raging fire. The reason movie ones tend to sound like fire, is because they do Explosions with large piles of gas and not actual explosives. Anyways I'm proud to have been even part of the reason you picked up Beast Wars. Glad you were able to enjoy the animation.
I watched it as an adult when it first came out. I couldn’t wait for new episodes like a little kid. It brought me back to the franchise and I’m very thankful for that. Great series for sure!
Yeah i was already in college when Brady wars hit, had enough disposable income with my toys r us job to get the entire collection as it came out, and the show was fantastic, especially with the online community having such a direct link to the writers
I was a kid back then, but G1 was my first TF show, loved it to death, and then Beast Wars came out, and it couldn't have been even more up my alley. Like I loved the Zoo as a Child so this was Transformers but the Zoo? Oh my God sign me up.
Watched it with my dad a couple months ago in our transformers binge. He originally watched it way back when it came out. It was double nostalgia for him since he Remembered all the g1 refetences the show made and now hes back to remember the show itself.
People who were not around at the time or forget that before Beast Wars (or Beasties as it was known in Canada) the Transformers franchise was dying and it was Beast Wars that brought back excitement to Transformers. It along with the Dreamwave comics really made Hasbro take notice that they have generations of Transformers fans.
Yeah people tend to downplay the Dire Straights Transformers was in, they want to pretend like it didn't really need to rekindle the interest of the fans.
Beast wars season 1 was basically two seasons, and it was awesome. But I’d say season 2 was a masterpiece. Three wasn’t as good overall but I think by the time of the finale it was a proper ending and pretty epic. If it wasn’t for Hasbro executive meddling Beast Wars (and Beast Machines) would have been absolutely legendary, not just in transformers but in pop culture as a whole. The cast and crew that worked on this labor of love were certainly talented enough.
I think 3 gets a Bad Rap, it's just coming after season 2. Which, it's the best one, even if I've definitely watched the first one more. I think Beast Wars Still can be, it just needs those of us who know, to help push it forward.
I fucking love this show. I am doing Animation in college and I convinced one guy in my corse who had only ever seen G1 to try it. He thought the first episodes where amazing and when I told him when it came out he was even more impressed As much as I love Prime, Beast Wars just styles on it in so many different ways. I love BW cast far more, the fights feel more powerful and it just feel alot more impactful and fun. Another funny story, I showed some friends the seen where Ultra Magnus ascends in Kingdom and I had an entire class room laughing like mad men
I know right? From an animators perspective it's SO MUCH MORE impressive. It's so amazing what they accomplished back then. It's such a funny scene, no wonder it became a meme in the community. And yeah, Prime is blatantly Modern budget animation, they try to hide a lot of what they do with sweeping camera angles and gratuitous style, but you can see where they cut corners if you know where to look.
Megatron, the t-rex, didn't actually take his name from Megatron, the gun. Megatron, the t-rex, took his name from an ancient prophecy, just like Megatron, the gun, did. Amusingly the prophecy was about Megatron, the t-rex, so Megatron, the gun, is named after his descendant. They were both trying to fulfill the same prophecy.
I know that's actually in the show in season 3, but I do ever so hate that notion, because there is no way in HELL that G1 Megatron would take anyone else's name. He had too much of an Ego, he'd want to scar the universe with his own name.
@@PerspectiveEnd He didn't think he was taking anyone else's name. He thought the prophecy would be about him, even if he had to force it to be about him.
What makes this all even more amazing is that this wasn't supposed to be a G1 sequel, at least after it was supposed to be a G1 sequel. Basically it was going to be the G1 cast at first, then it was going to have no connections, then when the Golden Disks came into play they started to work more G1 references and connections in. You'd be forgiven for not knowing it wasn't the plan the whole time.
Yeah, the story Hasbro wanted to do, was so much different than the Story Mainframe chose to do. I'd be interested in looking into the reality where Beast Wars was the original Hasbro pitch.
Honestly even when the animation/graphical quality is bad, it's bad in such an early 90s cgi way that it wraps around back into charming for me. It's also obvious how much love and attention the animators poured into the show that even when it hits the jank, you could tell that the creators were fighting for their life to make the whole machine run properly.
I’ve always loved the visuals of beast wars, I’ve always found the amount of colour and character in the animation and models so appealing. Also I remember the mandible characters like rampage and tarantulas genuinely scary and unsettling in a effective way as a kid, maybe that’s aided by the fact that I had a phobia of crabs as a kid
Oh yeah, I love the colors. Very few Transformers series are willing to get half as Vibrant any more. Like look at prime, everything is so Muted and washed out. And boy the Spiders were the stuff of nightmares as a kid.
I actually like how rattrap acts in the beginning because in an way it sorta reminds me of those kids who think there rebelling against there parents but in reality are just straight up brats
I remember when I watched beast wars, baffled by how much better it is than current shows today beyond just transformers shows, and the fact that this show is 30 years old is unbelievable.
Beast Wars is a god tier show. It was my first Transformers show I ever saw as a kid. It holds up after all these years. I even feel that the cgi isn't that bad. Backgrounds are a little bland but that's because they used so much money to make the characters look as good as possible like you said. Of course I grew up in the 90s so I actually quite like Beast Wars' cgi. When I rewatched the show over the summer I watched the 4K version and it looks gorgeous. Really good. Looking forward to a review of Season 2 and 3 sometime.
Happy you enjoyed this one enough to want to see the later seasons get reviewed too. And yes Beast Wars is God tier, it wasn't my First Transformers show, but it was pretty close to it. The 4K version is SOOOOOOO good. Did you find that on your own, or did you see one of the multiple posts I made about it.
@@PerspectiveEnd I think I actually found the 4K version on my own. I watch a bunch of Beast Wars videos so TH-cam will often recommend me videos about the show.
I always like to tell people that if they enjoyed Beast Wars they NEED To watch ReBoot, which was mainframe entertainment's previous show. You see so much of the DNA of Beast Wars in the characters. Prime is basically Bob, Rattrap and Cheator borrow a lot from Enzo (who got an age-up in the 3rd season), Black arachnia is so much like Hexadecimal, and Megatron is just megabite. There's a few others, but these are the main ones.
12:13 yeah, the way I would (and am currently writing) a show would be to do an opening focusing on most of the cast then they all split up to do things that are somewhat related to the overall plot, then they usually culminate in the middle and have more events happen afterwards or culminate as the finale
So let me say I have been a BW hater since the beginning. I am a self admitted G1 gatekeeper. This video has absolutely combined me to give it a shot. I mean how can anyone complain about having MORE of something they love. I will give it an honest watch. BW was my kids G1, so at least they will enjoy me watching it. Thanks.
I am thrilled and proud to hear that. I am so glad to have opened you up to the possibilities. All I can say is that I hope you love it even 1/10th as much as I do. I'd love to give you this in common with your kids.
You know, Perspective, if you're still trying to figure out how to structure the review, you could either do what you did in your Siege review or you can check out Bull Session's 3-part Beast Wars review.
Considoring how this video went, I CAN'T WAIT to see you review more of BW (and maybe Prime, and Armada, in the future. Since you mentioned those are the show's you allready watched).
As a writer myself, beast wars is one of the most well written, acted, and everything in betweened show. It has and always will be a golden standard for television. You know I hate when people say that animation can’t be as good/complex as live action because I’ve seen quite a few and my favorite shows, (Ignoring Community, The Good Place, Brooklyn 99 and FRIENDS) have been animated. Animation just gives so mush creative freedom and character, yet most adults just brush it off as for kids. Everything from ONE (TH-cam by cheesyHFJ), Rick and morty, infinity train, she-ra and potp (the newer one is better) gravity falls, hell most of Pixar evokes an emotional response far greater than most. Also if you read this rant?, and didn’t recognize any of the shows go and watch them, they are amazing. Beast wars is the show that made me appreciate hard work in tv, and if you look at the writing teams process they had no clue what the story would be and still made the best peice of media hasbro has ever made.
Animation is and always will be More complex. You have FULL control. The scene is what you chose it to be, there is no room for accidents or sub optimal framing, it's your mind on a canvas.
Bruh! I might be a little late to the game, but you are preaching to the choir with me! I've been a fan of this show since I was 8 years old, and it played a major part in shaping my entire childhood! I love you for making this! 😍
Thank you very much, and it's been with me since I was like 5, truly such a formative show that means so much. And it had the Gall to be Great too, and not just something I loved as a kid. Sheesh.
Hell yeah, i love beast wars, i think its bit not as good in the first 8 episodes, but after that its a blast. Also, the voice acting is also mostly really good. And last thing, this show gave me my favorite villain of all time, Tarantulas
My introduction to Beast Wars was season 2 (which I still consider to be the best season). I was introduced to it by my dad, who bought the 10th anniversary dvd when it came out, and my family watched it together. That’s definitely one of my favorite childhood memories.
Beast Wars is probably my favourite transformers show, it has a special place in my heart because it’s the first TF show i discovered on my own, my mum is a child of the 80’s and I had DVDs and VHS of G1 and I loved G1 and transformers so I went on the internet to get more Transformers, then I discovered BW and it fascinated by the animal designs, the CG animation, the standout voice acting, likeable / iconic characters, and the cool plot. I love Beast wars and it’s a big part of my transformers fandom journey/ experience. It’s why both BW and IDW are so close to my heart.
@@PerspectiveEnd and I can categorically say that Beast wars was my favourite because I remember distinctly liking it more to Prime which was the TF show that was currently airing at the time of my super fandom of transformers, I still love prime, hell I think I’ve come to appreciate it more over time, but you just can’t go wrong with beast wars
I remember a few years ago I was not a transformers fan until I heard of beast wars and while I didn’t like the animation it was said to have the best story and characters so when I finally watched it I loved it so much and to this day it’s still my favorite transformers show because something about the characters and the design looks so good especially the vibrant colors and watching this review made me appreciate it even more.
Beast wars is so good, it's such an amazing gateway into the serries. I don't know if it's even possible to top it. It will probably forever remain the best Transformers show.
I totally relate to your opinion of Episode 1's intro. When my older cousin first introduced me to beast wars, I immediately fell in love with that first five minutes of the show. It's one of my all time favorite intros. Also, funny story about my Transformers family dynamic, my dad was an 80's kid and grew up with G1. So naturally, he introduced me to Transformers through the 86 movie which both blew my mind and scared me for life as a 4 year old. A bit later, my cousin who was a 90's kid grew up with Beast Wars and introduced me to the series. I loved it but my dad was one of those old timers who thinks Beast Wars was stupid and G1 was better. So there's been this continual argument between my dad and cousin any time we talk about Transformers where they hash out which series is the best, and meanwhile, I'm just like "I love them both."
It's SO good. The show just LAUNCHES and it doesn't waste any time drawin you in. Oh man the 86 movie scarred me too. And that's the thing, you don't need to decide which is best, you just need to appreciate both. You love what you love, can't ever disprove that.
Don't forget all of the concepts brought in by beast wars that have become staples of modern transformers. Things like sparks, protoforms and stasis pods are elements the franchise couldn't exist without. What's your opinion on beast wars 2nd and neo? Im really excited for Lio Convoy coming out too.
4:31: BROOO nooooo that’s probably my favorite scene in the first season. That fight is probably my second animated fight in the transformers franchise
It's a good scene of character development, but it's an Animators Nightmare. That fight is SOOOO janky. There are some good bits in there like dinobots shield getting caught on the ground, but for the most part it hurts to watch everything go wrong.
earlier this year i decided to watch the show the first 5-7 episodes were pretty good however the episodes after i kept falling asleep through it so my memory of it got so strange so i had kept thinking inferno came on the alien island in his pod but season 2 and 3 were next level for me cause i enjoyed those so much that i rewatched them constantly without rewatching season 1 for ages and now the animation is completely fine too me and it shows me how much detail is in it that i really don’t expect like some characters running slower than others due to size meanwhile in other series they get lazy and don’t add details like that i also like that the episode *dark designs* has a build up where rhinox knocks megatron out in the *probe episode* also that one episode where rhinox stomps megatron out of the ship and then *dark design episode* where megatron realises he may have underestimated rhinox well any ways i really enjoy beast wars alot!
I actually really like Season 1 as well, but nothing wrong with 2 and 3 being your favorites. And hey all that means is that your sleep addled mind was making more Beast Wars Episodes for you, and that's awesome.
Maybe what you should do is a Beast Wars two episode retrospective every week were you go over your thoughts about those particular episodes. Then post them Saturday morning as a call back to morning cartoons.
It's what got me back into Transformers in my 20s when it aired on Fox Kids. I think I've said it before, but hearing about it, I did go, "Truck Not Monkey." A friend sent me "Optimal Situation" in 99 and it impressed me. I was home on break when BW hit Fox Kids and, when I went back to classes, I got every VHS cassette I could to record the episodes.
Yeah WFC, Energon and Cybertron definitely are inferior but I will argue on the behalf of Prime. There were dozens of times characters got torn apart by one another in a fight. Though that was mainly the vehicons getting the brunt of it but named characters had it too Hardshell- a hole was blasted into his chest after being shot by Miko unsung Wheeljacks ship Dreadwing- Megatron put a hole in his chest , which the camera zooms down to show, for attempting to murder Starscream Skyquake- Bumblebee tore his circuits out whilst he was flying and he lost his arm when he became a zombie Cliffjumper- Starscream stabbed him in the chest which left a visible hole in it before getting sliced in half by Megatron when he became a zombie Bumblebee- shot in the chest three times by Megatron and it killed him (before being revived by the plot). Had his T-cog stolen by M.E.C.H. with the process being similar to someone forcefully ripping out your liver. Starscream- literally had the shit kicked outta him so bad by Megatron that he was on life support for a bit. He lost his arm and his T-cog Megatron- his space bridge literally blew up pint blank in his face and was stuck on life support for like half of season 1. Prime sliced off his arm and he was finally killed when Bumblebee stabbed him in the chest Ultra Magnus- got out on life supports thanks to the predacons Prime- dude loved liked a week before dying after being hit by the giant ass gun on the Nemesis when it shot the base which is the equivalent of having you house set on fire with you still inside it only to be barely alive with third degree burns. Breakdown- oh Christ poor Breakdown. Dude was literally torn to shreds by Black Arachnia in season two only to be used as a life support unit by Silas. Then he was turned into a zombie and torn apart by Black Arachnia AGAIN Predaking- after being wounded by Megatron, he has a visible scar on his chest and was bleeding for some time after Cybertron was revived Vehicons and Insecticons- oh these poor guys. Dudes have been sliced in half, exploded, incinerated, used as bats to beat one another up, had their circuits torn out of their bodies, hands crushed into paste, turned into vampire zombies. You name it, it most likely happened to them. To say there is no gore is Prime is flat out false and I will die on that hill.
Here's the thing, I wasn't trying to argue that there is no gore in that, but look at all your examples. Prime treats each and every one of those like a BIG deal right, they will either have episodes built around those injuries, they are send offs for characters who die, or like Magnus they change the character for the rest of the series. So for Prime Damage is a Treat that you get on a special occasion. Beast wars treated injuries like what you should expect from a fight scene.
Adding onto the rank thing, the Japanese sequels/spin-offs further the idea that commander ranks are styled after Optimus with bio Lio Convoy and Big Convoy both having very Optimus designs (their heads especially, like with Primal) though obviously they use the Japanese “Convoy” title rather than everyone’s names being “Optimus ___” The Japanese commanders also care Energon Matrixes which Primal doesn’t have until he shows up in Beast Wars II to help out Lio in a fight
@@PerspectiveEnd eh, convenient power up when you gotta deal with a thing like Majin Zarak. Don’t think they’re supposed to be on the level of the Matrix of Leadership and might just be glorified energy stores so 🤷
I mean Prime still had plenty of limbs getting ripped or blast off. Starscream got his arm shot off Bulkhead ripped a Vehicons guts out. Wheeljack beheading vehicons.
My point was that Beast Wars treated physical damage as what should be expected of combat. Prime treated it like it was a treat. This battle is unique because someone took a real injury.
I was born in 2000 so the UT is technically my childhood and introduction to Transformers. But Beast Wars and Animated are the shows I gel with perfectly. I really really hope for a side Beast Wars line coming out in the few next years or so. Like say for the 30th anniversary we get a brand new incarnation of Beast Wars with a new line of figures. A Core Beast Megs and Primal would be pain but i'd buy it. Kingdom was a terrible 25th anniversary. Do it you cowards.
I remember watching a couple Beast Wars episodes last year before stopping for some reason. I was enjoying it just fell off for some reason. I have wanted to get back on it, though I do know a good amount of the plot by now, and I’m kinda scared finishing it would make me regret missing out on most of the Beast Wars Kingdom figures lol. I wouldn’t mind seeing more of these from you, maybe go through some of the other Transformer shows too. The only one I really have a connection with is Animated cause I watched a decent amount of it as a little kid.
Transformers: Beast Wars was pure perfection, even though the CG’s dated it’s still great! Dinobot’s character arc in the show was perfection, him defecting from the Predacons and becoming a Maximal was a massive middle finger to Megatron. His final stand was emotional and epic to watch, he went out a hero.
I did like that the reboot comic tried to make Scorponok more of an actual character rather than just a dumb goon you couldn't mourn when he perished because there wasn't much there to get attached to. Comic made him a bootlicking yes man who just wanted a pat on the back. I think that's sort've relatable. We've all been there before. According to the writer had they continued Quickstrike would've been introduced and Scorponok would've competed with him for Megatron's favor. Y'know the sort've rivalry the show's supplementary material always claims Scorponok had with Inferno even though they barely interacted.
Beast Wars was one of the most formative and influence shows to my pre-adolescent self. Optimus Primal full-on shaped the kind of leader I have strived to be throughout my adult life. I regularly state that my "Code for Management" is Primal's "I will not give an order I would not be willing to do myself," and have even told my staff as such. Dinobot and Silverbolt shaped and modeled the type of person I'd eventually become (confusing-to-define-yet-rigid honor code, bit of a hero complex, prone to silly if poignant statements, and more than willing to aggressively cut someone that offends). Rampage and Depth Charge modeled and taught me how unchecked rage and obsession harm you. It's just such a damn good show. I constantly force it on people, to their begrudging benefit.
Optimus Primal is absolutely the Best Leader in all the Franchise, he routinely makes Ration and Well advised calls where he puts people in place to succeed. And yeah, Rampage and Depth Charge, showing kids Moby Dick even when they don't want to.
@@PerspectiveEnd I'd argue both Primal and Megatron are the most capable rendition of leaders in the franchise. They both have successes, failures, conflicts, motivations, etc.
@@PerspectiveEnd much like Optimus’ leader quote, my house regularly references Megatron’s quote as an out-and-out rule: “Your treachery I can tolerate, but not your incompetence. Treachery requires no mistakes.” Useful lesson for life.
I think Beast Wars is a good example of just because the writers didn’t know much about the franchise doesn’t mean it i a bad thing. The fact that they wanted to tell a story and even had fans help regarding the transformers lore shows how much they cared.
People keep comparing Beast Wars to WFC because of the animation, but they don't notice that the characters have so much emotion and are very expressive, they specifically gave everyone a mouth (even the toys who didn't have a mouth) to make them so expressive, while in the WFC they all look like 😐 90% of the time
Yeah, people are easily Tricked by the Razzle Dazzle of moody dynamic raytraced lighting, so they think it's better than Nuts and bolts animated performance.
Dude you are doing god's work, we need a new wave of unashamed people who love shows like these, I hate how everyone has to say "i like this but it's terrible tho lol" jeez.
6:48 Yeah, I do see where your interpretation of the ship landings come from. But it seems pretty clear to me that the ship crashing at the angle is heading toward a smoky volcano region. (a.k.a. the Predicons) It is possible that we aren't seeing the steep angle of the Maximal's ship from our viewpoint. Like its careening more towards us than to the side. Just something I felt like bringing up. Also, as far as Dinobot's lack of honor, I agree he is out of character here. Though I would read it as, he sees a difference between being in a war and a single battle of honor. His underhanded tactics in the early episodes are to "end the threat of Megatron" to end the war. It's possible he was still working through his anger towards him in those first episodes. But hey, it's been 5 years since I watched it last and I'm talking about the most complex character in the show. I could just be talking out my ass here.
That's an interesting Interpretation taking Geography into account, and if we ever got a reasonable overview of the MAD geography of the Beast Wars environment then I'd probably just outright be calling you correct. The show is still amazing and Dinobot is still it's most complex character, it's just for the first several episodes it's clear he wasn't in his intended form.
That is a weird combination of things to compare him too, and I'm probably just about the only person on Earth aside from my brother who understands the three things you are talking about enough to get what you are saying.
I honestly wouldn't have the animation looking any other way. I even kind of forget that it's the from the early days of CGI in the second and third seasons. That is, until the protohuman kids come in. They just looked terrible. But the detailing on the Maximals and Predacons is so good that I don't even care.
@@PerspectiveEnd And the fact that they were just plain annoying and unnecessary sure didn't help. I would have cheered if the raptors had eaten them. As warped as that may be.
I'm another of your converts. didn't notice the animation after a few mins. I'm gunna admit you where right. Great show... cant believe I was so blind for so long. oh well live and learn lol
I want to say THANK YOU for defending Beast Wars animation. Because I swear, there is as many people who don't get the difference between old and bad animation, that there is those who don't get that Prime and Primal are two separate characters. Because the only "sins" of Beast Wars animation is that it was obviously made in the 90's on a budget. And despite that, it manages to be so much more expressive, characterful and impactful that what we have today. Mostly because it wasn't afraid to stretch, whack, hurt and bend it's characters in order to give them life and personality.
Now there’s a difference between animation and modeling. Beast wars has some fairly dated models, the Animation however is great. The movements, transformations and even the battle damage is top tier. It’s like a really good PS2 game as a tv show.
Indeed they are. Connected disciplines, but different. There are some problems here or there, where parenting became broken or stuff, but it's still fabulous animation, and not as bad modeling as people like to think.
One of my favorite things about this show is that it is not a "real" war. It's a ragtag group of blue collars pulled into stopping a madman and his group of misfits from changing everything they know and love. Now it's always just "Robo-WW2" and I'm so tired of Autobots vs Decepticons and everyone being a battle-hardened grim fest. I'd like to see another series in the future with an uneasy peace between the two being threatened by an OUTSIDE enemy for once, but stuff like that requires good writing.
Yeah, despite the title, it's really just a rag tag group of people who were forcibly deputized trying to capture some criminals. As a kid, it really did feel like a war to me, but it's the furthest thing from it.
Well I can safely say that I never listened to the Car Robots theme before today, and I can safely say now having listened to it, I hope to never hear it again. I'm glad that you enjoy it, but man that was like nails on a chalkboard to me.
I thought that primal was the same as Optimus prime until I saw that truck does not equal monkey video which helped a lot also I am sick while watching this video and your videos make me feel at least a little better
In my headcanon, the maximals and predacons cybertronian forms go as follows: Optimus primal- Space Dune buggy Cheetor- small Motorcycle Tigatron- Particularly nice car Rhinox- Space truck Dinobot- Large, beefier motorcycle Airrazor- jet Rattrap- tiny bike ( like iguanus) Megatron- Carrier plane Scorponok- Particularly lame car Waspinator- helicopter Terrorsaur- jet Black arachnia- small tank Tarantulas- mid sized tank Inferno- SUV
For me I more think Premal would be like a Helicopter. An I think that Rattrap would be like a small Forklift or something. But yeah I think most of those work.
i sort of agree that it being set 300 years in the future doesn't make much sense. many of the characters are already millions of years old BEFORE the 4 million year stasis period. So yeah it makes sense to flip beastwars much further in the future. Love them or hate them, this is actually what the japanese G1 continuity does with Beastwars II and Beasts Neo, and Car robots, who are all part the same continuity. The earth in beastwars 2 is called Gaia and takes place hundreds of thousands of years in the future when humans have abandoned it. Anyway, Original beasts wars was essentially my religion in the 90s. and i watched it along with Reboot and Shadow Raiders, "the holy trinity of mainframe"
Exactly, it's basically impossible that a species where you can live 4 million years and still be young, is going to forget everything in 300. I never actually even heard of Shadow Raiders until I was an adult, but the other two I did grow up with, and the Starship Toopers, CGI show from back in the day, which has no business being as good as it is.
I watched Beast wars with my brother last year and it was easily my favorite Transformers season. It came out during a time when I had felt saturated with the franchise, getting tired of the constant G1 in everything. Beast Wars, despite coming out something 20 years ago, felt fresh and original. All new characters, full of mysteries that aren't just Unicron or the Allspark, set on Earth where all the annoying humans are gone, and tied to G1 in a meaninful way rather than just to be a call back. Despite knowing about where it ties to G1 and Dinobots death, this was all new to me and I watched it always wondering where it could go. I wish we got more shows like Beast Wars cause the whole G1 cybertronian war is so milked nowadays that I'm dying for something like Beast Wars. (Also like Cybertron, cause I watched it at the same time as Beast Wars. Not as good as Beast Wars, but at least it tried something new as well.) I will say, I love both the animation and the "artstyle" from the moment it began. I have a huge appreciation for older game graphics, so this was something up my alley. Sure, it was rough like the terrain, but that captivated me. I agree that Beast Wars' artyle has a wonderment to it. It made me wonder what lied in this world. The best way comparison I can think of is classic Sonic levels. the backgrounds were clearly made to made the stages pop, but the designers put so much effort into it that I wanted to know what else was there. Who lives in Stardust speedway? What kind of settlements are in Green Hill Zone? Who is running Chemical Plant Zone? Both Sonic and Beast Wars nail this idea of soft worldbuilding, where the environment is shown but barely told; vague enough to have the viewer wonder about it and desire more of it. I miss this. So many shows I've seen put in a lot of effort into the world building, which is a good thing, but they never leave enough mystery to it that I want to explore it outside the show. Everything about the world is within the show, or book, or video game that I'm basically like, "yeah I get it." I hate that feeling. Beast Wars' low texture world is something I still think about because, even though they showed interesting places like the Old Human village and the giant...flying island thing (can you tell it's been a while since I watched the show), I felt there wasn't enough. But in the good way.
Nice! I'm happy to hear that. Yes Beast Wars was so fresh. Even though Unicron does kind of make an appearance. And absolutely. I actively HATE the Allspark, because it BENDS every piece of media it's in around it. Beast wars was so good. And yeah, I'm so sick of hearing people complain about the way the show looks. It looks good. Anyways, glad you enjoyed it.
I mean, both TFP and WFC had characters losing limbs and being damaged, in TFP there's starscream losing his arm, cliffjumper losing his horn and getting battle damaged (I'm only gonna mention those, but there's obviously a lot more). WFC sure has way less, like cog getting shot in the abdomen and Jetfire slicing seekers in half.
Cliffjumper doesn't count because thats the whole point of his character, obviously trying to avoid spoilers, but there is a big reason why they built him to be more destroyed in the show. Yes Starscream loses an arm in one episode, but it's telling considering just how big a deal it is for the whole episode that he did, that they thought the level of effort they went to do to that was unreasonable considering they built an EPISOED around it
I started watching the second season of beast wars for the first time the other day and the first 3 episodes of it have to be some of the best transformers content I’ve seen for a while
What were there names on cybertron. Aside from scoponoks being clamps, airazor, tigatron, inferno, and blackarnia cause they were born on earth, and Optimus and megatron who kept there names.
Has anyone noticed how there has to be a parts limit here, unlike other shows they can’t exactly use humans tech, they only have the tech they came with.
I like to thank you for mentioning the battle damage the Cybertronians received during battles in Beast Wars. This is something that bothered me when I rewatched Prime, for a show that's supposedly gritty they don't show battle damage to the Autobots and Decepticons. Just like you, I'm not really bothered if something is dated or stupid old. I feel like people really need to stop having the mentality of "new = better", because sometimes something modern can suck badly.
Yeah, the Grim and Gritty TF show is really nothing of the sort, they try to wear that title by killing a named character at the start of the show, but it's just putting on airs. Beast Wars kills way more of it's cast, and they don't act like it makes them so hard core.
@@PerspectiveEnd It says something when Beast Wars is on par with the Bay films and IDW with its gore and violence. While, Prime feels more like the Unicron Trilogy and G1 with its content.
Welp, at least he still didn’t hate himself for saying something good to something
I can never be ashamed of my love for Beast Wars.
Optimus’s scream of “MEGATRON!” at the end of season one is as iconic as Kirk’s “Khaaaaaaan!!” for me.
I feel like it's a bit better my self, Khan just doesn't have a pleasant cadence to it, it doesn't feel like you are done when you finish saying it.
Also the sound design is awesome. It’s hard to describe but they sound like robots. They also has so many different sound effects for each character.
That too is fantastic about the show.
I can't believe I forgot to mention the Voice Talent in this, I truly am bad at my job.
And yes Scott is a Treasure.
Someone’s done gods work and uploaded the entire series onto TH-cam. I’ve got to finish my rewatch of it but it’s very fun.
Is this what you were talking about?
m.th-cam.com/play/PL_hfDtD68l8X7JjIAf1pusxoaX2JN1iAg.html
In 4k no less.
that's how i, a zoomer, got to watch the show for the first time. 10/10 experience would recommend 👍👍
update: it was taken down guys
@@asher-360 its back
All of the 3 original beast wars seasons are masterpieces imo, great characters with a lot of personality, interesting plot, one of the best villains ever, and it doesn't overstay its welcome.
Important SPOILERS BELOW - deleted episode info below
Even the oddity of Dinobot II regaining the original's honor had an explanation (it wasn't meant to be out of nowhere), but that episode was scrapped, probably due to budget, sadly.
I'm just amazed that they showed transforming at all considering they barely showed it for the Autobots.
Remember?
Of course.
That sounds AWESOME!
Was that your first time watching it too?
@@PerspectiveEnd whrn i watched for the binge originally. Beast wars was always my tf gray area so I though ut was about tine to check it out.
Apparently Transformers was also not doing so well in Japan either so Takara focused on Brave
He thought the first episodes where amazing and when I told him when it came out he was even more impressed
As much as I love Prime, Beast Wars just styles on it in so many different ways.
People really Don't give credit to beast wars for saving the franchise and just being and absolutely fantastic show
Yeah, people just kind of Gloss over what a Shot in the arm the serries really was for the franchise.
You convinced me, once I finish Animated I'll watch this one
Proud to hear that, get ready for a good time.
Except Rattrap is like 35.
@@PerspectiveEnd yea but the concept is still there
I remember when I watched beast wars, baffled by how much better it is than current shows today beyond just transformers shows, and the fact that this show is 30 years old is unbelievable.
Straight down to had the first season for Beast Wars also ends with the Bad Guy launching the good guy into the death machine in a suicide bomb.
@@PerspectiveEnd and then the weird energy ended up mutating the main Reboot character just like the Vok surge
12:13 yeah, the way I would (and am currently writing) a show would be to do an opening focusing on most of the cast then they all split up to do things that are somewhat related to the overall plot, then they usually culminate in the middle and have more events happen afterwards or culminate as the finale
Like for most of the season the characters aren't together?
@@PerspectiveEnd sorta, they haven't fully banded together yet and would probably be in a little disagreement at first
So let me say I have been a BW hater since the beginning.
I'd love to give you this in common with your kids.
why did you hate it
You know, Perspective, if you're still trying to figure out how to structure the review, you could either do what you did in your Siege review or you can check out Bull Session's 3-part Beast Wars review.
I've seen all those. Man I wish that guy would come back.
@@PerspectiveEndYeah, me too.
Considoring how this video went, I CAN'T WAIT to see you review more of BW (and maybe Prime, and Armada, in the future. Since you mentioned those are the show's you allready watched).
Well the Next BW review will be a good ways away, but maybe Prime will be by the end of the year, if my growth continues.
Prime as King Kong and megatron as a edgy Barney i love it
I wouldn't call Megatron Edgy?
@@PerspectiveEnd I was about to say pissed of but didn’t know how to word it out lol
Sheesh.
It was a treat to hear you gush over Beast Wars.
I could have gone on. I can't believe that I didn't cover the Voice talent. I'm an idiot.
I’m probably gonna finish season 1 once I get Legacy Tarantulas and Inferno because that’s the type of person I am but I am excited to watch the show.
Well I just hope when you do you love it.
Hell yeah, i love beast wars, i think its bit not as good in the first 8 episodes, but after that its a blast. Also, the voice acting is also mostly really good. And last thing, this show gave me my favorite villain of all time, Tarantulas
I wouldn't say the voice acting is mostly good, I'd say it's entirely amazing and I don't know how I failed to mention that in this.
Beast Wars saved the franchise after the horror that was generation 2
I don't know that you can call G2 a horror show. More like something no one cared enough to realize happened.
I did not expect beast wars to be complete on TH-cam, much less 4k. Now I have something to binge. Thx perspective end
Happy to Bring it to your attention, it looks so good, it kind of hurts.

I Refuse to immagine. So you want this in 2024 then.
I can’t wait for the upcoming fan series by TFI creations called Beast Wars Interstellar. Proves how much Beast Wars impacted the fandom.
I don't know who could even try to deny what kind of impact it has had.
My introduction to Beast Wars was season 2 (which I still consider to be the best season). I was introduced to it by my dad, who bought the 10th anniversary dvd when it came out, and my family watched it together. That’s definitely one of my favorite childhood memories.
Nice! That's a wonderful memory, though it's a bit strange that your Dad decided you needed to start half way through the show?
@@PerspectiveEnd my dad mainly liked the transmetal figures, not so much the regular beast guys
When are doing the new absolutely ASTONISHING reveals? there's so much to LOVE and so much to crap on!
In a week or so.
Thank you perspective so much its one of the best shows I've watched I've only watched one episode
Glad you are enjoying it so much just after 1 episode.
That's a great story, and yeah Beast Wars is just Amazing. I saw G1 first too, and Beast Wars still takes the cake for me.
THANK YOU! I've spent years trying to convince my friends to watch Beast Wars but they would never listen, well now I got the perfect video.
Oh yeah, it's HUGELY influential, even if it's a bit unsung for it.
That could be fun, I might just do that, thank you for the idea.
Glad to hear that you may have had a negative initial reaction but it was Brief.
So many older fans hang onto that till this very day.
Yeah WFC, Energon and Cybertron definitely are inferior but I will argue on the behalf of Prime. There were dozens of times characters got torn apart by one another in a fight. Though that was mainly the vehicons getting the brunt of it but named characters had it too
Hardshell- a hole was blasted into his chest after being shot by Miko unsung Wheeljacks ship
Dreadwing- Megatron put a hole in his chest , which the camera zooms down to show, for attempting to murder Starscream
Skyquake- Bumblebee tore his circuits out whilst he was flying and he lost his arm when he became a zombie
Cliffjumper- Starscream stabbed him in the chest which left a visible hole in it before getting sliced in half by Megatron when he became a zombie
Bumblebee- shot in the chest three times by Megatron and it killed him (before being revived by the plot). Had his T-cog stolen by M.E.C.H. with the process being similar to someone forcefully ripping out your liver.
Starscream- literally had the shit kicked outta him so bad by Megatron that he was on life support for a bit. He lost his arm and his T-cog
Megatron- his space bridge literally blew up pint blank in his face and was stuck on life support for like half of season 1. Prime sliced off his arm and he was finally killed when Bumblebee stabbed him in the chest
Ultra Magnus- got out on life supports thanks to the predacons
Prime- dude loved liked a week before dying after being hit by the giant ass gun on the Nemesis when it shot the base which is the equivalent of having you house set on fire with you still inside it only to be barely alive with third degree burns.
Breakdown- oh Christ poor Breakdown. Dude was literally torn to shreds by Black Arachnia in season two only to be used as a life support unit by Silas. Then he was turned into a zombie and torn apart by Black Arachnia AGAIN
Predaking- after being wounded by Megatron, he has a visible scar on his chest and was bleeding for some time after Cybertron was revived
Vehicons and Insecticons- oh these poor guys.
Beast Wars was lightning in a fucking bottle, and that’s all there is to it.
I don't think it was that random, but man I wish a show would aspire to be HALF of what it was now a days.
13:20
Then again that’s just Bobby Skullface in a nutshell, always putting G1 on top of the transformers pyramid compared to everything else
This is true. And there's stuff to love about G1, but it tends to have it's fans just reject literally everything that came after.
The limb blowing off thing is cool, but I think the reason that doesn’t happen much in prime is because limbs are hareder to just replace
Adding onto the rank thing, the Japanese sequels/spin-offs further the idea that commander ranks are styled after Optimus with bio Lio Convoy and Big Convoy both having very Optimus designs (their heads especially, like with Primal) though obviously they use the Japanese “Convoy” title rather than everyone’s names being “Optimus ___”
The Japanese commanders also care Energon Matrixes which Primal doesn’t have until he shows up in Beast Wars II to help out Lio in a fight
Yeah, that is something that Reinforces that, though I do hate the Energon Matrixes, those can really go die.
@@PerspectiveEnd eh, convenient power up when you gotta deal with a thing like Majin Zarak. Don’t think they’re supposed to be on the level of the Matrix of Leadership and might just be glorified energy stores so 🤷
I need more Perspective Reviews of movies and shows istg it's the best
I'm glad so many people really like this one.
I mean Prime still had plenty of limbs getting ripped or blast off.
Starscream got his arm shot off
Bulkhead ripped a Vehicons guts out.
Yeah, it's really hard to not Gel with Beast Wars it's just so good.
And I'd be down for some Core Scale Beast Characters.
I used to feel the same about Beast Wars but over time I loved Beast Wars and Beast Machines.
What do you mean you used to feel the same about Beast Wars, but then came to love Beast Wars?
I remember watching a couple Beast Wars episodes last year before stopping for some reason. I was enjoying it just fell off for some reason. I have wanted to get back on it, though I do know a good amount of the plot by now, and I’m kinda scared finishing it would make me regret missing out on most of the Beast Wars Kingdom figures lol.
I wouldn’t mind seeing more of these from you, maybe go through some of the other Transformer shows too. The only one I really have a connection with is Animated cause I watched a decent amount of it as a little kid.
I get that fear, but hey, if you don't then you just regret missing out on both.
I want to do more show reviews for sure.
Dinobot is such a legendarily good character, there was no reason Kingdom should ever have tried to cover him.
Beast wars intro song is the musical equivalent of a roaring v8
It rocked so hard. It got you PUMPED!
I mourned him dying in the normal show.
I feel like that's who he was before, but yes that is very relatable.
Oh yeah, absolutely. Megatron is also easily the best Megs, like no question, he gets the better of his adversaries time and again.
@@PerspectiveEnd much like Optimus’ leader quote, my house regularly references Megatron’s quote as an out-and-out rule: “Your treachery I can tolerate, but not your incompetence. Treachery requires no mistakes.”
Useful lesson for life.
Your effort was evident in the video. It definitely showed
Glad you think so!
1:58 I think it worked because when I think of megaton he’s literally the first character I think of.
I think of both of them Honestly, really depends on the context of the Conversation who comes first to my mind.
If I'm being honest the Cgi for beast wars didn't bug me. I'm also a hyper fan of beast wars. I have a whole shelf with just bw characters on it lol.
Yes, because there's nothing wrong with the CGI, people who call foul are looking for a reason to have a problem.
@@PerspectiveEnd yeah.
I recently began watching Beast Wars and GODDAMN. It’s fantastic.
I'm so happy to hear that, always love seeing new people enjoy that show.
I think Beast Wars is a good example of just because the writers didn’t know much about the franchise doesn’t mean it i a bad thing. The fact that they wanted to tell a story and even had fans help regarding the transformers lore shows how much they cared.
They were willing to learn and it's so refreshing to see someone not write off something because they came from somewhere else.
I’m a huge Tf Prime fan, it’s my favorite Transformers show. But when I saw Beastwars it was no contest it’s simply incredible.
And that's perfectly fine, hard to dislodge your pre-existing favorite. At least you can appreciate BW for it's quality.
This was a really good review for someone who has never reviewed a show you did a great job I can't wait for season 2 when the show really picks up
Dude, he said in the video itself he already did review other shows before
@@FernandoMazzo175 I know this is the first time he went a little more into it
I was so rusty, I'm just glad it turned out half as well as it did.
Thank you, and yeah, the whole self Deprecating thing on this needs to stop. Beast Wars isn't Ironically good in any way, it's just Good.
Dinobot always reminded me of "Lost in Space" Dr. Smith if he had a Klingon's backbone grafted to him.
That is a weird combination of things to compare him too, and I'm probably just about the only person on Earth aside from my brother who understands the three things you are talking about enough to get what you are saying.
@@PerspectiveEnd I'll take that, lol.
Beast Wars is in the top 2 all time greatest Transformers series along with G1. :D Thank you for another great video PerspectiveEnd.
I'm glad you enjoyed.
@@PerspectiveEnd It brightened my day. Thank you.
About the animation I never thought of it that way so I going to give you props for bringing it up
I'm proud to hear that, glad I could bring people a new Perspective on the stuff. Pun only semi intended.
I honestly wouldn't have the animation looking any other way. I even kind of forget that it's the from the early days of CGI in the second and third seasons. That is, until the protohuman kids come in. They just looked terrible. But the detailing on the Maximals and Predacons is so good that I don't even care.
Yeah the Proto Humans are easily the ugliest part of the entire serries.
I am so proud to hear that, always a pleasure to bring more people into the Beast Wars Fold.
@@PerspectiveEnd Dinobot is a fuckin legend!!!
Exactly. Look at those facial expressions and tell me Prime Holds a candle to the amount of character that comes through.
''Tigatron is a filthy hippy''
I was drinking tea and i spit it out. Why did I laugh so hard.
I'm so glad to hear that, I actually had to retake that line because I started giggling in the middle of it, bout half way through the word Hippy.
Perspective: beast wars has the best intro
Me: heheh, (tunes in car robots opening)
Well I can safely say that I never listened to the Car Robots theme before today, and I can safely say now having listened to it, I hope to never hear it again.
I'm glad that you enjoy it, but man that was like nails on a chalkboard to me.
Good job, can’t wait for the season 2 review
I wish I had time for that last year.
It makes senses to do beast wars season 1 for beast wars weeks
Thank you!
I thought that primal was the same as Optimus prime until I saw that truck does not equal monkey video which helped a lot also I am sick while watching this video and your videos make me feel at least a little better
I'm proud to hear that this video helps you feel less ill.
And proud that I was able to help you understand Beast Wars better.
@@PerspectiveEnd thanks 😊
Can’t wait to hear you talk about Season 2 my favorite season out of the three we got.
I think Season 2 is everyone's favorite.
I don't care about the animation I just care about good characters good storytelling things like that
The good news is that Beast Wars has all 3 of those things.
Im only now just realizing the series is on youtube so im definitely going to watch it now
In 4K no less.
In my headcanon, the maximals and predacons cybertronian forms go as follows:
Optimus primal- Space Dune buggy
Cheetor- small Motorcycle
Tigatron- Particularly nice car
Rhinox- Space truck
Dinobot- Large, beefier motorcycle
Airrazor- jet
Rattrap- tiny bike ( like iguanus)
Megatron- Carrier plane
Scorponok- Particularly lame car
Waspinator- helicopter
Terrorsaur- jet
Black arachnia- small tank
Tarantulas- mid sized tank
Inferno- SUV
For me I more think Premal would be like a Helicopter.
An I think that Rattrap would be like a small Forklift or something.
But yeah I think most of those work.
@@PerspectiveEnd why a forklift?
Just cause he feels like Small Industrial Equipment.
i sort of agree that it being set 300 years in the future doesn't make much sense.
many of the characters are already millions of years old BEFORE the 4 million year stasis period.
Not as good as Beast Wars, but at least it tried something new as well.)
I will say, I love both the animation and the "artstyle" from the moment it began.
Yes Starscream loses an arm in one episode, but it's telling considering just how big a deal it is for the whole episode that he did, that they thought the level of effort they went to do to that was unreasonable considering they built an EPISOED around it
I started watching the second season of beast wars for the first time the other day and the first 3 episodes of it have to be some of the best transformers content I’ve seen for a while
Yeah, Season 2 is LEGENDARILY good.
What were there names on cybertron. Aside from scoponoks being clamps, airazor, tigatron, inferno, and blackarnia cause they were born on earth, and Optimus and megatron who kept there names.
They never state. Megatron has been suggested by different Medias to be Gnashteeth, and Galavar, and Optimus was probably always an Optimus.
You were the person who got me to give it a watch, and I really like it. It’s good.
I'm proud to hear that.
