If Hasbro wants to make a fembot with a slender robot mode and a good vehicle mode, why not just use a dragster race car? Hell, it also means they avoid the pitfall of having 4 regular sized vehicles and then just one massive bike
Tell that to fans and designers of hot rod. People inside and out of Hasbro have been trying to get a pink version made so they can release a movie accurate deco, but every time the corporate big wigs deny them
Lickety-Split feet, on a fembot :) Just needs to be orange and beige instead of pink and white... and maybe add a pair of arm ports to let her pistols stow as whatever Lickety's grey things are.
The designers should have a yearly contest as to who can make the coolest original transforming robot, no limits, full creativity, winner gets his figure sold in a limited run.
I absolutely the bb deluxes. The vans are tons of fun, brawn while having that one thing with the vehicle mode is still a fun figure and wheeljack is tons of fun. Arcee blew me away as well, achieving the uncommon feat of me not wanting to put her down and keep transforming her back and forth.
SS-85 Arcee is a big step in the right direction. Clearly the figure has some feminine traits, but she's a very cool looking robot as a whole and that's what Hasbro needs to have that mindset when designing fembots.
I’m convinced, this is the Arcee my collection needs. I’ve been burned on past Arcee figures, but this is the one that nails it for me. I love too how you can totally give her wheel feet, just in case you wanted to make her more of a badass.
I can't wait to pick up this gal and ironhide when they start appearing around my area, the bbm figures I have are already amazing but arcee seems to blow them out of the water just looking at this review!
Oddly they showed up locally just after I recovered from covid. Course I had mine for ages already, but good to see Hasbro AU actually stocking properly for once. Not expecting this to be a regular thing though
I just had a thought: When Siege released three years ago, a Shapeways seller named Ariel Lemon made a custom WFC-style Shatter head designed to fit on Chromia/Nightbird. I wonder if other Shapeways sellers will do the same thing for this figure and make Bumblebee-styled heads for Chromia, Moonracer, Elita-1, and other Fembots to fit on SS-85 Arcee. I think her design will be a great platform!
Arcee was always gonna be arcee in Prime cause she was just put into the movies. But they made her blue because they thought it'd be weird to have Jack riding a pink motorcycle
@drlockdown You wouldn’t be wrong for thinking that though, that was the excuse the designers used before admitting the real reason, which they thought was embarrassing.
It's funny how some characters who were never meant to transform end up actual gold, and others probably should be forgotten about. This is an example of the former. Loved the video btw, keep up the awesome work!
Gives me the impression she’s kind of a recon scout, using that antenna to report back what she’s seeing. Course bright pink doesn’t really do good for camouflage.
I'd prefer it if Hasbro didn't just try to adhere so much to the "female" part of a female transformer characters design. Just like not every guy is super buff with grill abs like OP, not every woman is shaped even remotely like the specific way every single female transformer is. Make a female character the same height as Prime Knockout that transforms into, say, a muscle car or sports car, with only slight curves (if any) and limbs that aren't noodles (or with oversized upper legs that become noodles half way down the legs for some dumb reason, compromising the design even more) and you'd not only get a good design out of it, but a good figure that doesn't turn out like nearly every female TF character ever.
I put this one on preorder the day it went up, and an very eagerly awaiting her based on what the videos like yours have shown off. I've also been presenting the idea of a new head and recolor as TFA Lickety-Split every time she comes up, in the desperate hope that someone at Hasbro might see it, think, "Hey, that sounds like it could sell some toys for minimal effort!" and picks it up, but Studio Series has been shockingly lacking in repaints as such so far.
19:04 Again, I've accepted that fembots WILL ALWAYS have the back kibble no matter what. Besides, I figure that this SS85 Arcee is going to be that rarity amongst fembots (if there's any easy way to describe it, it'd be the opposite of Earthrise Starscream amongst the Seekers, that whole 1-out-of-5 oddity amongst general Transformer types, where there it's one allegedly mediocre mold out of the rather awesome ones, whereas here it's one allegedly interesting one out of the (admittedly to some) more common fembots. (Enthesis on "allegedly": never handled either ER Screamer or 85 Arcee.))
while i agree that fembots will have a backpack, i disagree that this is a rarity, it should be the standard and frankly i want a fembot that doesn't look like an entire fucking car is strapped to her back only to do a solid snake box stealth trick
Part of making this the norm is telling Hasbro through sales and social media posts that this system works. It's one of the reasons I made this video: on the off chance someone on staff sees it and greenlights more figures like this.
That "prides itself on accuracy" line made me chuckle studio series is sometimes accurate and sometimes completely wrong sometimes with the robot modes sometimes with the alt modes or just both
Yeah but it's a line that was made to be accurate. The whole reason from wave 1 was to be as close to the movies as possible. Conversely, generations always stylises their designs, regardless of what continuity.
@@DrLockdown yeah but it hasn't been accurate some figures are widely inaccurate (crankcase dropkick grindor blitzwing ksi boss 86 starscream and cliffjumper) and then the scale is all over the place especially with them now releasing ss core class figures of characters who should be voyagers or deluxes the SS line has kinda failed at being the most accurate representations especially when sold older figures from previous lines have been slightly more accurate especially when it comes to scale
Yeah but it still tries. It's the line that is 'more accurate' compared to generations. Whether it succeeds or fail, that's it's end goal, so the statement makes sense.
@@DrLockdown yeah but generations isnt trying to be accurate and sometimes ss just steals generations figures (cliff and screamer) i feel like the better phrase for it should be "it sometimes attempts to be accurate"
And it gets a recolor slight remold in generations line lol 😂 didn't see that coming aye? I do like this mold though and was happy they figured another use for it.
Thanks. I think she could somehow fit into my collection(s) as I’m starting to add several android-type Transformers to my collection, not including Thrilling 30 Arcee or Cyberverse Windblade. As for the visible hands - I mean Animated Arcee had that, and still sold out. Also, I bet 3rd party 3D printers will give us something for that. I’ll need to see other angles, but the front wheels are a little odd, though… Edit: No, never mind - G1 Afterburner-like front wheels - they’re fine…
Haven't seen ANY of these figures on the shelf near my realm. Wasn't planning to get SS Arcee, but having just reviewed Kingdom Arcee, it makes one yearn for something BETTER...
I've been looking for her in my area for a couple of months now, sadly to no avail. That said, I was already immensely excited to get her, and this review is certainly helping that excitement. On another tangent, I recently sold off some old items and splurged on Kingdom Rodimus. He's an outstanding robot, though as you said in your review, the trailer leaves something to be desired. Regarding Commander Class, though, how good is the engineering on Legacy Motormaster? I'm very excited to get him, and the transformation might even be very good. But I'm wondering if the sheer ingenuity present in Rodimus had to be sacrificed in order to put the budget into the Menasor trailer.
Motormaster is kinda the opposite of Rodimus. The core robot is just okay, but the whole package is endlessly awesome. Wouldn't recommend without the other stunticons, as the engineering is very tailored to those, but he's quite fun. I'd say as a full package he's on par with jetfire.
@@DrLockdown I've already gotten Dragstrip, and it'll be my first combiner so I'm going all in. I was kinda hoping Motormaster would be better, but I'll have to get it in hand and determine what I think of him before passing the final judgement. Sacrificing him for the Menasor frame sounds better on paper, anyways. Thanks again!
@@DrLockdown Bit of an update. I found SS86 Hot Rod on discount, and I was curious to compare him to Rodimus. I was ready to disagree with your assessment in your review, and yet...I can't. I buy Transformers more for the engineering than for characters. (I love TFP's designs and I'd buy those, and as much as I like the new Legacy incarnations, they stray pretty far from those. I hope for proper updates in the future...SS Predacons Rising?) Anyways, as good as both modes are, the transformation felt soulless. There are great ideas in play, but unlike the pure joy I get with Rodimus, I feel nothing while doing Hot Rod's. This is somewhat disappointing, as I had hoped it would wow me like Rodimus, given their similar ideas. Oh well...Off to hunt Sludge and SS85! They seem like they'll fill the engineering void.
Can't wait to pick this wan up, the transformation looks like so much fun. The way everything collapses into the chest seems so satisfying. And on the topic of Elita-1, that car mode is so dang cute that I may need that figure too. Just. Not for 30 euro XD
You know... earlier I wasn't into the figure because almost a year or two ago, when I saw concept art's alt mode for the first time, I was kind of like, "oh motorcycle Arcee again" because at the time, my mind was like fembots shouldn't be skinny things like motorcycles or velociraptors whatever to give them a supermodel physique and give them more diverse body shapes but looking at this review now, esp the transformation engineering, I've changed my mind on her and I kind of want her now, simply for that fact alone. Thanks Dr. Lockdown
It felt like ages (even though it's only been, like, a month) but I finally managed to get my hands on this figure at a comic book shop, along with Legacy Motormaster! Needless to say there was much rejoicing and "yes!" -ing to be had after staring at the same Skids and Buzzsaw figures over and over.
Yea, this figure as an whole is more than great. Good articulation, a very nice bike mode, and it look's good in robot mode (well, for me at least "Mostly". I'm not exackly sure why, but whenever I look her face up, the molding on the chip just look's wierd to me). All tho I wanna ask, what is up with this part of the video 2:54 ? And before you ask, yes, I noticed this meme is a main gag of this video. But at least in this scene it doesn't make sence considoring the context of what you were saying ealier.
@@DrLockdown Yes I had watched these movies, I 'm not saying you' re wrong, but the way you showed the gag doesn't make sence in context 2:50 - Don't ask me why, Michael Bay timeline make's no god damn sence. 2:54 "Sexist mode" Aka Not making sence =Sexisim? Do you understand what I'm saying now?
This video is fantastic and I already have bumblebee arcee Before watching this video and toys great it’s actually one of my favourite toys but anyways Have a wonderful day everybody.😊
19:10 I love this frame since i get wholesome vibes on if pyro survived and was in sotw where it would like be like the tank and the swordsman duo vibes like bulk and jackie where pyro and arcee would team up as pyro give questions to arcee on what her opinion was on optimus and bond with her if pyro survived sotw he would put a kinda wholesome and funny honor on airleon and arcee by protecting them no matter what................................................................ I understand that it wouldnt be logical but i am just obsessed with pyro at this point after reading my first transformers comic lsotw and pyro was just so much my type of transformer an optimus fanboy trying his very best to try to impress his hero just works compared to the hot shot fan boys armada, sideawipe, energon ironhide, and clocker.
Glad to see you enjoyed SS Bumblbee Arcee. I was hoping to see you make her look even better with your words I also couldn't help but notice Motormaster and Blitzwing from legacy. You mind if I ask what your thoughts are on them? They are kinda controversial
@@DrLockdown glad to hear you enjoyed them. I particularly want Blitzwing but due to my country's economy, its just not really possible to import it. Hopefully that'll change one day and I'll be able to get it
I love it, I love this figure, it is so refreshing to have an Arcee with an enjoyable Transformation and not just a shellformer, The moment In see this figure available I will buy her
First time coming across your channel and wow this is a lovely channel and similarly what a lovely figure, I'd definitely be looking out for it if I'm taking a break from Gunpla Valhalla But one thing I'd like to add on, I think I figured out why your Shattered Glass Starscream you mentioned in the Worst Transformers toys from 2021, Since I'm guessing you live in the Land Down under thanks to the begining of that vid, I'm guessing the box that he was in simply got hot and discolored him, I've had multiple toys go yellow thanks to them being in a box in the unforgiving Equator Heat (I'm Indonesian so Hi there neighbor)
Actually I imported from Singapore and live next to the beach, so it was never in sunlight and never got too hot. The yellowing problem has actually been acknowledged by Hasbro, and they're now working to fix it.
You could keep the guns in her hands and make the back of the alt mode a little cleaner, as well as eliminating the “partsforming” Quotation marks because it’s not a big deal
Very much appreciate the Eunie love, Doc! Hopefully she keeps best girl status. Now, for the other best girl... I do have to concede that SS85 Arcee succeeds at being a better fembot, a better G1-style Arcee at that, than Titans Return. Even I have to admit that the latter only really succeeds when placed with the clause of "Arcee as a carformer", and frankly I do agree that much as the Blurr engineering is the right template forward for carforming Arcee, she really is better off as a bike. After the SS86 one, we really should retire the G1-accurate design...forever, really. Still using TR as my Arcee, but at least there's another GREAT option. Also, another neat thing about SS85? Her bike form's smaller and sits lower to the ground than Legacee, so she doesn't look as weird next to a TRUCK, as seen in 1:57. And her still being a big bike? Reminds me of the big bikes from the FF7 universe, so there's that going for her, especially Fenrir from Advent Children onward. The only real fix I want for her is something brought up elsewhere: fembots being stuck with puny peashooters coz they're girls, something Elita/Minerva has yet again subverted. But besides giving her bigger guns, specifically SMGs with big clips/handguards, these would serve another purpose. Such larger guns, when held in her hands, would better hide the chest and hands in vehicle mode, eliminating the only real visual flaw on her, and giving her meaner looking exhaust. As a dual gunner enjoyer, curious what you think of that idea. Also, that's it, you've helped me choose which Offroad Bee deco to go for. That NEST gunmetal is delish!
It really is. Also gels more in vehicle mode. Still love the original too though Also I'm going to go dark when Xenoblade 3 comes out. Making all the videos ahead of time
The toy designers had a really tough challenge on their hands with Arcee and the other Autobots in Bumblebee. They had to incorporate a vehicle mode to a design that wasn't intended to have a vehicle mode. Arcee, along with all the other Autobots in the movie besides Bumblebee, weren't designed with a vehicle mode in mind. They were merely filler for the film's introduction, so the film designers probably didn't see much point in putting more effort than what was needed. And I think the toy designers handled this challenge exceptionally well. Arcee's sleek vehicle mode compliments her sleek robot mode, and her back kibble doesn't sacrifice her robot design and articulation. I could say the same for nearly all the other Autobots and Decepticons, even Soundwave and Brawn.
This is my first Arcee figure since I got back into collecting. The only other Arcee I had was the Energon one. Lord knows what happened to that as a whole bunch of Transformers I had as a kid mysteriously disappeared. I remember looking at other Arcees and going, "Too much backpack, weird car hood stand, weird.....whatever the masterpiece is going for." Then I saw a review of this figure and all was right in the world. She's not perfect (I have trouble getting everything to tab in in vehicle mode, especially the wing pieces that fold in on the sides) but damn does she look good, especially next to my Siege Optimus.
I've gone from wantinf her at reveal, to being lukewarm over time, to now needing her for my BB Autobot collection. Just need a B127 and Ironhide (though I'm not 100% sold on Ironhide, would you say he's worth picking up Dr L?) Great review as always, was definitely looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this girl! What's your opinion on BB Soundwave? Personally he's my favourite of the SSBB figs
Soundwave looks great in robot mode, but he's super clunky in practically every way. I want to do a review on him, but it's difficult given my current circumstances. Still, wouldn't recommend him. Not worth it. And ironhide is great. Grab him if you can. Grab both the vans.
@@DrLockdownI’m not entirely sure lol, I’ll be honest I sort of skipped through the video a bit 😅, don’t worry though I found out it’s 4.5 inches, I appreciate the quick response 👍
5:58 Say, that mini Optimus Prime „Lego-look-Alike“, Do you know where thats from ? Is this just 3D Printed or is it Actually Buyable ? (Is that even a Word ?) Sides, Loved the Video, always Happy to see you Upload ! 😀
It's not. That was an official Hasbro product, and their 'kreons' looked very different. This is essentially a custom bootleg Minifigure with a custom chest and helmet
I am still flabbergasted when looking at her, that engineering they make her do just amanzes me, to the point of being angry at how her heels work and why the cinnamon toast f*ck they didn't implemented *THAT* move into a redo or the classic RiD 2013 deluxe from prime
I thought a friend of mine was over hyping this figure but darn she's a stunning gal, altough I honestly don't mind backpacks for some fembots I hope this will mark somekind of variaty on fembots transformations
@@DrLockdown well not by the standard but that's the thing I'm getting at is there are smaller transformers and perhaps that's why the bigger ones have cockpits
Hello DrLockdown, I must say you have been one of my sources of entertainment, I regret binge-watching most of your videos since most reviewers don't put a lot of effort into editing, and thus, aren't that enjoyable and re-watachable. Keep up the good work. Ps. What's your opinions on Earthrise Snapdragon and Legacy Blitzwing.
Thank you. Glad I could help. Honestly I find snapdragon solid but really boring. If you're a massive fan of the character he'll do fine, but personally I prefer apeface, even with the weird plastic. Meanwhile blitzwing is honestly solid. The modes are all pretty good; even the jet mode. Sure it photographs HORRIBLY, but it's a solid blitzy Boi. Shame he isn't as good as astrotrain, but he'll do
@@DrLockdown To me she looks way more appealing than the CHUG Arcees I've seen. Plus you sound pretty impressed in your review. Edit: Ended up purchasing her for $16 from my local JB-HiFi today (22/11/2023).👍
Honestly, and I say this because your review doesn't mention it, but if you haven't seen the original first edition prime Arcee figure, it seems like it is very much a source of inspiration for this figure. I think it's pretty much on par with this figure in terms of quality, but YMMV. It's certainly up among the best arcee figures we've ever had. Super poseable, looks great in both modes. Only thing I'd say it's missing is an ankle pivot, because those weren't standard back then.
Hey Dr lockdown just wanna say I love how in depth u go for your research The whole elitist nature of collecting can be jarring but I loved how u break apart surface lvl perceptions and give a story behind every figure May not have been sold on the figure but def invested deeper in this franchise Here’s to keep on keeping on
I get the idea, but I don't think it was well executed. I'll probably grab the Hasbro one when it eventually releases. With Armada megs coming our, prime will surely follow eventually, even if it isn't the prototype
She looks fantastic, a step in the right direction definitely - you can have a fembot be a figure that doesn’t have all the alt mode on their back and can integrate the part into the robot mode while still keeping the female body/character elements. I’d love to see more from this aesthetic/BBM style in SS (like maybe Megatron). Also would be neat to see them repaint this into a Nightbird. Since the design works better than the POTP mold and also since Nightbird is coming in ROTB, this can be her Cybertronian mode.
@@DrLockdown Indeed, sadly they don’t do repaints (which I wish would change). But yeah at least were getting Nightbird still in a different form. Neat she’s a main villian of a live action film (along with Scourge and Battletrap).
Yeah, I'll agree this is probably one of THE best Arcees we've gotten and also one of the best fembots ever for actually feeling like a proper transformer and not generic-humanoid-figure with a giant backpack's worth of kibble. This does, however, make me interested in seeing how the Arcee toy for Rise of the Beasts will turn out - I don't think this design is bad by any means I'm just more interested in seeing how the Earth mode will look. Though I wonder if it'll be a retool of this or a new figure entirely that (hopefully) uses all the strengths of this one.
@@DrLockdown I'm doubtful too but I was curious seeing that the upcoming SS86 Arcee is apparently a heavy retool of T30's Arcee. ...which just makes me question why they didn't just make a new tooling that had the strengths of this one. Oh well!
Budget. Higher ups originally told the design team to base ss86 arcee on the Earthrise version. They saw how the fandom hated her and asked if they could use the T30 one instead. They were given the go ahead on the condition they stay within budget.
Best Arcee toy definitely collection default. As for engineering for other fembots, take off this figure as well as Airrazor, Jet shatter and Blackarachina and Elita 1 and things will be beautiful.
I can't wait to get this, I really want all the BB movie SS stuff, even the worse ones have merits to them...oh Car Shatter, if only your arms didn't pop off so damn easily...And well, I loved the movie and I want to show my support for it.
She just dropped in Sydney. Hopefully Amazon releases her early. Doubtful though. Last I heard Hasbro AU took control of the TF store to stop early releases. If they're in charge, it'll probably be late.
I found her a month ago in the states at a target, she wasn't in the store's system yet, but the nice cashier lady just let me buy it for $5 cheaper than the normal retail price
That's good. I hear people cashiers in the state often chuck a hissyfit and remove them from sale. Us Aussies don't though. Part time job is at the register, and policy is to get the general code for the price point
@@DrLockdown the way you described transforming her reminded me of a scene in breaking bad where Jesse mixes two very strong drugs and the camera zooms at the same Pace as his brain as his high slowly lifts him off the bed with slow music playing in the background
Backpacks or more like this...I mean, I'm alright wit both. Backpacks have never bothered me to begin with, same with parts forming, and I feel like some people make a bigger deal all out of it than it really is(even though I still want more female tfs like this)
It's such an insteresting contrast to see how this Arcee succeed where the Legacy version just...Meandered through. This is exactly the kind of fembot engineering that I hope Hasbro can capitalize upon, which they really seem to with Elita-1/Minerva. Lovely review as always! Meanwhile...I'm not entirely sure on what to think about 86 Arcee reusing the Generations mould from way back and receiving a few updates, would've liked a new one for sure but I guess it was more of a budget concern move? It wasn''t a bad mould per se but not exactly spectacular.
I appreciate the designers using that mould and not the Earthrise one, as was initially intended, but I reckon it'll just be passable. What frustrates me is because it's 'g1 accurate' it'll likely garner more praise. Honestly it's a little frustrating
I know I've already commented and such but I just realized to my knowledge you've had the guns in the wrong place in alt mode they should be in her hands on alt mode facing the back as exhausts
@@DrLockdown the instructions for when I got mine showed them in the hands and I hate to say it but they don't fit on my copy for the guns but are used when in vehicle mode to help hold it together
@@DrLockdown nvm there was an entire misunderstanding what I thought was happening you put them on the booster pack tabs not the arms themselves I just looked at my figure yes they do store there but it's optional in both robot mode and vehicle mode I thought you actually meant the tabs on the arms
Knock the Windblade model all you want but its a fantastic kit. I personally love the elegant proportions. Hopefully after this Arcee we'll see a Windblade that improves on the T30 figure.
I think the timeframe is more coincidental than purposeful. Hasbro figures take 18 months to produce. I reckon MMC had the same sentiments that fans did, and they put Eris into production around the time that Hasbro took note of the complaints
@@DrLockdown true. It’s interesting that Hasbro has only just taken notice of it though… it’s been a long running issue as you said in the video. Great work by the way, really looking forward to her release.
My take on the fembot engineering system is that I personally don't mind backpack formers or "traditionally feminine" designs, but instead the problem is that every. Single. One is just the same. I don't think there's a problem with having the same figure be repainted or redeco'd (I kind of miss it, to be honest) but it's sort of like the Nissan or sideswipe mold situation: it's fine when there's a few different characters using the same base mold, but variety is necessary. Not every autobot car looks the same or has the same proportions, even on the original cast. It's about variety. Give us bulky fembots like strongarm or POTP Elita-1, fembots like Stryka, or even those like Shadow Striker. There just needs to be more diversity in character designs for fembots. They shouldn't all look the same. The most variety we get are when we have masculine transformers repainted into feminine characters, which is fine, but it could be so much better.
First, the figure looks good, accurate to a character that only appear for a couple of seconds Second, if classic heroes team is to continue, I am seeing a motorcycle chase retool into arcee, whenever if she's pink for G1 or blue for prime since optimus and bee seem to loosly based on their prime designs Third, will you review the authentics bravo arcee, she might have an advantage over her class-mates and people like her over earthrise because she ain't as much as a shellformer
Probably not. I don't think she has enough for a full review, and this year's legiondary marathon has already been decided. Maybe the following year. Who knows
If Hasbro wants to make a fembot with a slender robot mode and a good vehicle mode, why not just use a dragster race car? Hell, it also means they avoid the pitfall of having 4 regular sized vehicles and then just one massive bike
Because 'not geewun enough' I guess.

From what I know of Prime’s production Arcee was always Arcee and was originally pink but the show runners didn’t want Jack riding a pink motorcycle
Huh. That's...dumb...
I also wonder if they made her blue to match the more “realistic” color pallets of Prime or to homage G1 Chromia.
@@DrLockdown They honestly could've used Movie Arcee's colours, or use a blend of red and pink if they were that femmephobic.

That makes me think of Cappy from that movie Robots.
Lickety-Split feet, on a fembot :) Just needs to be orange and beige instead of pink and white... and maybe add a pair of arm ports to let her pistols stow as whatever Lickety's grey things are.

Yeah she's endlessly playable. Letting the designers come up with their own alt modes was a real treat
SS-85 Arcee is a big step in the right direction. Clearly the figure has some feminine traits, but she's a very cool looking robot as a whole and that's what Hasbro needs to have that mindset when designing fembots.
100%. We don't need the old style anymore. It's antiquated
I’m convinced, this is the Arcee my collection needs. I’ve been burned on past Arcee figures, but this is the one that nails it for me. I love too how you can totally give her wheel feet, just in case you wanted to make her more of a badass.

@drlockdown You wouldn’t be wrong for thinking that though, that was the excuse the designers used before admitting the real reason, which they thought was embarrassing.
Beautiful figure, for sure! Still waiting on Amazon to ship mine...
Yeah Amazon really dropped the ball the past two years. Apparently Hasbro AU took over the entire international operation. It explains a lot...
It's funny how some characters who were never meant to transform end up actual gold, and others probably should be forgotten about.
This is an example of the former.
Loved the video btw, keep up the awesome work!
Thanks mate
I like the little antenna on the head. I don’t know why but I find it charming.
Ah. Yeah I suppose so
Gives me the impression she’s kind of a recon scout, using that antenna to report back what she’s seeing. Course bright pink doesn’t really do good for camouflage.
Long as she has a lamp post mode any colour should suffice
3:12 that Zaku was literally right next to me when I watched this.
Lol I think you're about ten minutes short :p
That "Upcoming" Elita-1's out and I totally recommend it, it's a pretty neat thing!
I just grabbed her today. She's pretty good, although I personally think arcee here is better.
Yeah some people consider it a blessing. I sure as hell don't.
7:48 Fanstoys jumpscare had my jaw on the floor
5:03 no, no we will not lmao
Haven't seen ANY of these figures on the shelf near my realm. Wasn't planning to get SS Arcee, but having just reviewed Kingdom Arcee, it makes one yearn for something BETTER...
If you see one, don't hesitate. She's 100% worth it
Bought her and she's magnificent. Got good robot mode and vehicle mode. Finally, Arcee that we deserve.
Just hope things stay this way. If Hasbro goes back to the old system, imma flip
@@DrLockdown same here.
What is the plane transformer at 4:27?
Botcon universe ramjet, from thrilling thirty Starscream mould
@@DrLockdown Thanks
I love this figure so much, and tbh it makes me really want a good deluxe of ROTB Arcee, cus that's my new favorite design for her of all time
I've been looking for her in my area for a couple of months now, sadly to no avail.
The sad reality of inflation. Still better than the alternative though, which is budget cuts like FOC
You know... earlier I wasn't into the figure because almost a year or two ago, when I saw concept art's alt mode for the first time, I was kind of like, "oh motorcycle Arcee again" because at the time, my mind was like fembots shouldn't be skinny things like motorcycles or velociraptors whatever to give them a supermodel physique and give them more diverse body shapes but looking at this review now, esp the transformation engineering, I've changed my mind on her and I kind of want her now, simply for that fact alone.
Thanks Dr. Lockdown
No prob. Hope you're able to find onw
Actually just got legacy buzzsaw yesterday. He's not bad
No greater vibe than eating a sandwich and watching a dr lockdown video in your underwear after a night shift
Night shifts are the worst. So many abusive customers high off their faces.
@@DrLockdown yeah dealing with drunk or high punters is never a fun experience
Yea, this figure as an whole is more than great. Good articulation, a very nice bike mode, and it look's good in robot mode (well, for me at least "Mostly". I'm not exackly sure why, but whenever I look her face up, the molding on the chip just look's wierd to me).
All tho I wanna ask, what is up with this part of the video 2:54 ?
And before you ask, yes, I noticed this meme is a main gag of this video. But at least in this scene it doesn't make sence considoring the context of what you were saying ealier.
...have you seen Michael Bay's films? Have you seen the way he characterises women?
@@DrLockdown Yes I had watched these movies, I 'm not saying you' re wrong, but the way you showed the gag doesn't make sence in context

Do you understand what I'm saying now?
Eh. It's just a running gag. Not meant to be super serious
I'm really excited for Shadow Striker the only toys we have of her are the legion one that transforms half way and the brick that is the Ultra Class
Yeah she deserves a lot better
I love this toy, Arcee is my favorite character and this is my second favorite toy of her (animated Arcee is my personal favorite)
Still gotta get that one

My point is i am jelous of pyro and i am jelous of your fanshobby arson
Glad to see you enjoyed SS Bumblbee Arcee. I was hoping to see you make her look even better with your words
I also couldn't help but notice Motormaster and Blitzwing from legacy. You mind if I ask what your thoughts are on them? They are kinda controversial
Both solid and overhated figures. Neither are amazing but I'd say both are worth picking up
@@DrLockdown glad to hear you enjoyed them. I particularly want Blitzwing but due to my country's economy, its just not really possible to import it. Hopefully that'll change one day and I'll be able to get it
I love it, I love this figure, it is so refreshing to have an Arcee with an enjoyable Transformation and not just a shellformer, The moment In see this figure available I will buy her
The Bumblebee figures are easily the best Hasbro has been putting out all year
I noticed in the video you have legacy motormaster. What do you think of the toy?
Pretty good. Not amazing, but pretty good
I've had so much fun with this figure since I got her last week ( and Ironhide for that matter). Such a GOAT figure tbh
Yeah totally top five of the year for me, easily
First time coming across your channel and wow this is a lovely channel and similarly what a lovely figure, I'd definitely be looking out for it if I'm taking a break from Gunpla Valhalla
But one thing I'd like to add on, I think I figured out why your Shattered Glass Starscream you mentioned in the Worst Transformers toys from 2021, Since I'm guessing you live in the Land Down under thanks to the begining of that vid, I'm guessing the box that he was in simply got hot and discolored him, I've had multiple toys go yellow thanks to them being in a box in the unforgiving Equator Heat (I'm Indonesian so Hi there neighbor)
Actually I imported from Singapore and live next to the beach, so it was never in sunlight and never got too hot. The yellowing problem has actually been acknowledged by Hasbro, and they're now working to fix it.
Hi I noticed that this arcee comes out in October how did you get yours early?
I imported from Singapore, but I'm also seeing it locally in Australia too. It's just Amazon is dumb. Real dumb.
You could keep the guns in her hands and make the back of the alt mode a little cleaner, as well as eliminating the “partsforming”
Quotation marks because it’s not a big deal
Yeah it's really just weapon storage. Could be better, but honestly it's fine
"Lego-see"
At least you didn't have nightmares of ghostfreak from ben 10 you didn't let ghostfreak into your dreams right
Ghostfreak was creepy as fuck.
This is the best figure I’ve gotten all year.
Not the best for me, but definitely towards the top
Still love the original too though
Also I'm going to go dark when Xenoblade 3 comes out. Making all the videos ahead of time
@@DrLockdown Can't believe it's this month already. The anticipation is unbearable!
I KNOW! Reverse-delaying as a concept seems so weird. I'll take it though.
Just got Javelin, yeah this mold is great
The toy designers had a really tough challenge on their hands with Arcee and the other Autobots in Bumblebee. I could say the same for nearly all the other Autobots and Decepticons, even Soundwave and Brawn.
...yes...I...covered this in the video...
@@DrLockdown Ohhhhhh, apologies. I wrote this comment before I watched the rest of the video. ^^'
This is my first Arcee figure since I got back into collecting. The only other Arcee I had was the Energon one. Lord knows what happened to that as a whole bunch of Transformers I had as a kid mysteriously disappeared.
I remember looking at other Arcees and going,
"Too much backpack, weird car hood stand, weird.....whatever the masterpiece is going for." Then I saw a review of this figure and all was right in the world. She's not perfect (I have trouble getting everything to tab in in vehicle mode, especially the wing pieces that fold in on the sides) but damn does she look good, especially next to my Siege Optimus.
A killer arcee to start with
@@DrLockdown It really is. Looking forward to seeing if Hastak can ever top it.
what do you think of Jet mode Shatter?
She's fantastic
Is there an SS figure with the number 86 to their name or is 86 reserved to the subline?
Doesn't look like it. Looks like they skipped 86 to avoid confusion
As a trans woman it’s so awesome to see a good Arcee figure, I wanna go pick her up asap
Definitely worth it. So glad she's being reused in the Amazon line too: the moulds too good to only get one outing

Great review as always, was definitely looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this girl!
Grab both the vans.

damn i should start collecting these guys again lol
They're doing great stuff
I am still flabbergasted when looking at her, that engineering they make her do just amanzes me, to the point of being angry at how her heels work and why the cinnamon toast f*ck they didn't implemented *THAT* move into a redo or the classic RiD 2013 deluxe from prime
I thought a friend of mine was over hyping this figure but darn she's a stunning gal, altough I honestly don't mind backpacks for some fembots I hope this will mark somekind of variaty on fembots transformations
Yeah variety is a big issue with hastak's design philosophy at the moment. I'm tired of them just doing 'the fembot mould' and calling it a day.
I definitely think it's weird how female Transfomers weren't made for a certain time and then when they were it took awhile to get good one's🤔
Mini cons exist in most continuities and they exist in the knight verse given we've seen the cassettes aside from that idk
I don't think cassettecons/cassettebots are the same classification as minicons.
Shame he isn't as good as astrotrain, but he'll do
@@DrLockdown thanks for replying! Got Blitzwing yesterday, and I agree.
Would this Arcee work in a CHUG display?
I mean, she is CHUG scale. Long as the aesthetic works for you
@@DrLockdown To me she looks way more appealing than the CHUG Arcees I've seen.
I was half tempted to get the APC toys one, but I'm sort bummed out on the character after legacy. Maybe I'll grab another version layer down the line
The helmet isn’t big enough, that’s the issue with the model. Where does her race end and her helmet head begin?
...oh damn you're right. I just checked the model. Christ that looks weird...
Hey Dr lockdown just wanna say I love how in depth u go for your research
The whole elitist nature of collecting can be jarring but I loved how u break apart surface lvl perceptions and give a story behind every figure
May not have been sold on the figure but def invested deeper in this franchise
Here’s to keep on keeping on
Thanks mate. I always love seeing the bigger picture with every release.
So do you have some of the old Armada toys or Naval Commander?
I have Armada demolishor, but that's about it. Also no interest in naval commander. Honestly find the kibble on the backs of the legs ameteurish.
@@DrLockdown For Super Mode it's supposed to be like that and I think of it as a butt cape.
I get the idea, but I don't think it was well executed.
I'll probably grab the Hasbro one when it eventually releases. With Armada megs coming our, prime will surely follow eventually, even if it isn't the prototype
@@DrLockdown I hope it's soon and NOT WEB EXCULIVIE. #WeWantArmada Also may get Lio Convoy whenever he comes out.
I could see them doing haslab. I'd be down for that
Dammit, now I might have to get this figure. I don't need another Arcee. Maybe I can replace the head on this one, with one of the other ones?🤔
I don't usually mind getting multiples of a character personally. My collecting is usually more sporadic, just getting whatever looks cool.
I'm actually much more excited for this figure than the SS86 one coming.
Yeah I've lost pretty much all excitement since getting this
Where'd you get legacy motormaster so early?
Big W, a retail store in Australia. They always get commanders early.
A small mercy considering we typically get everything late
I have made up my mind. Imma just ditch getting the 86 arcee and get this gal. Also, those new lights look nice.
Ah thanks. Was worried they'd be worse than the last ones
I would too, but sadly SS doesn't usually do that.
Still, apparently we're getting nightbird in ROTB, so at least she'll get representation there
@@DrLockdown Indeed, sadly they don’t do repaints (which I wish would change). But yeah at least were getting Nightbird still in a different form. Neat she’s a main villian of a live action film (along with Scourge and Battletrap).
Haha. Living in the US means a Sunday release gets to me on saturday. Nice
That's actually the idea. I like it up with 5pm new York time to maximise viewership
How good is Motormaster?
Decent
Yeah, I'll agree this is probably one of THE best Arcees we've gotten and also one of the best fembots ever for actually feeling like a proper transformer and not generic-humanoid-figure with a giant backpack's worth of kibble.
This does, however, make me interested in seeing how the Arcee toy for Rise of the Beasts will turn out - I don't think this design is bad by any means I'm just more interested in seeing how the Earth mode will look.
Though I wonder if it'll be a retool of this or a new figure entirely that (hopefully) uses all the strengths of this one.
I've said in other comments, but I don't think they'll retool it. Studio series rarely does that.
Oh definitely. This is a change that needs to happen
I can't wait to get this, I really want all the BB movie SS stuff, even the worse ones have merits to them...oh Car Shatter, if only your arms didn't pop off so damn easily...And well, I loved the movie and I want to show my support for it.
I ended up tightening some of the joints in her. She's ultimate okay on the end: just not amazing
Man, I hope that Amazon October release isn't too accurate....I can't wait to get this figure!!
Fraid I've never seen breaking bad. No idea about that scene.
Think I'll get the upgrade swords for her
I haven't seen any upgrades for her that tickle my fancy. Given the quality of the mould, I'm open, but nothing's caught my eye yet.
I know I've already commented and such but I just realized to my knowledge you've had the guns in the wrong place in alt mode they should be in her hands on alt mode facing the back as exhausts
...no, there are dedicated tabs for them. You can also put them in the hands, but the tabs wouldn't be there otherwise.
@@DrLockdown the instructions for when I got mine showed them in the hands and I hate to say it but they don't fit on my copy for the guns but are used when in vehicle mode to help hold it together
I wish TH-cam allowed pictures to be shown but sadly I can't do that otherwise I'd personally show you what I mean
Ok on her boosters near the bottom in robot mode there are notches cut out that fit on mine at least only the robot mode arms in vehicle mode
Oh I know. I was supposed to show a proper comparison in this video, but I haven't finished building mine yet. Gave it a metallic finish.
I love the new system. I wonder if they took any inspiration from MMC Eris Kultur which is the same principle; fembot that actually transforms.
Yeah I got the original. She's decent. Don't think she'd the greatest thing ever though, not like most people do.
Yeah that's another issue; Hasbro just making 'the female mould' and calling it a day.
First, the figure looks good, accurate to a character that only appear for a couple of seconds
Second, if classic heroes team is to continue, I am seeing a motorcycle chase retool into arcee, whenever if she's pink for G1 or blue for prime since optimus and bee seem to loosly based on their prime designs
Third, will you review the authentics bravo arcee, she might have an advantage over her class-mates and people like her over earthrise because she ain't as much as a shellformer
Probably not. I don't think she has enough for a full review, and this year's legiondary marathon has already been decided.
Maybe the following year. Who knows
