I have that engine in my XF, so it's nice to hear what it sounds like from the outside once in a while.

Old X-type experience: Very good - when replaced standard struts with Bilstein, the engine from Ford Locoln LS, 3.0 petrol was one of the best. Regarding the XE look - a very generic modern car... Jag needs to do more of a brand look (Bentley does it, and the brand holds on).

Jaguar is the new Daddy in it's class, everything else is just second best... XE is another level up from a BMW 335i, Audi S4 and Mercedes C-Class... Congrats to Jag for beating the best the world can throw at it.

Top review; top car. What a sound, that's the key!
Like all things, just comes down to personal taste and I like the sleek exterior, the dressed down interior styling and don't care much for infotainment besides Bluetooth audio and voice. Also, everyone isn't driving around in a Jag which I kind of prefer to the ubiquitous 3 series. Full disclosure: I own an E90 335i, but you couldn't pay me to drive the new F30 3 series.
They should have used the more expensive 'aston martin' sort of rear lights they did on the xf
daAnder71 XF has very similar rear lights, but they're not exactly the same as the XE

Love that color! I bought a black 35T a few weeks ago. It was the 4th car I test drove and it just blew the rest away. I couldn't get over how fly it looks. Did you buy a warranty?

But my cousin works in JLR so I should be ok 😁

Looks great until you see how the back half is inspired from some girly compact car. Is it possible for a sports sedan to have good rear seat headroom without sacrificing looks? Hopefully they saved the total package for a coupe version, if they make one, which they better. In any case Jaguar managed to design a car that surpasses all in its class when it comes to being a driver's car, an accomplishment that deserves credit.

@@micahg.n.7944 I love it man, it's really fun to drive. I have the intake and crankshaft kits in my garage. Heading up to NH sometime after Christmas to install them and get a tune.
I just finished the following upgrades - air intake pipes and filters, upper and lower pulleys from Mina Gallery, a tune from VelocityAP, and just last week installed sport cats down pipes from Fabspeed. Meth kit to be installed by spring. Bro this thing is friggin awesome and the sound in unreal. Was thinking about a resonator delete but that may make too agressive, not sure@@1Learn2Swim3. You will be blown away after doing the pulleys and tune. Do the air intakes - it makes your supercharge whine with this beautful sound!!!!

I t doesn't suck because you can basically get a bentleycontinetal gt speed powertrain package in a jaugar for less money now not the same acceleration as a bentley but pretty close sound (minus the supercharger sound) due tue both a jag and a bentley has 8 speeds plus jag is 3.0 forced induction where as bentley is forced induction as well plus the 3.0v6 is basically half of a 12 cylinder in the bentley, but not powerwise because only the new continetal 4psngr supersports is nearly the same power in this jag v6 just only the jag needs 10 extra hp to be half of hp that the 6.0 w12 in the continetal supersports.

And yet the X type acctually looks like a Jaguar while this looks like a generic NPC car. Looks more like an upmarket Mazda than something like a Jaguar. And btw its sales were much lover than X type's and X type being much older is still more reliable than a newer XE. I think sir William Lyons is rolling in his grave because of this direction where Jaguar is today heading.
Yup X types actually LOOKED like a jag, Funny enough also, the x type petrols never went to a 4 cylinder petrol, all of em where v6s whilst the v6 xe was cut long ago...plastic crap imho

and things not to like? 1.very poor gas mileage XE S. 2 the infotainment doesn't even come close to the i-drive. 3. the back of the car. 4. poor visibility. 5. 75% of the car is aluminium and it's still heavier than the 3 series
Andrei Arama That's why there's a diesel option. I don't think people who buy the S version have efficiency as the #1 concern.
