I wore a kimono I bought in Japan with my two friends. The people that sold it to us dressed us a bit badly (they were not japanese and told us in advance they didn't really know how to wear it) so the kimono was too long and the obi kept falling. An old lady saw us, invited us in her house and together with her 95 year old mother helped us fix it. When they saw they needed help fixing the kimonos, she called her nurse who was a "kimono sensei", she came in 5 minutes and tought us how to wear them properly. They were super nice, she gave us an omiyage, offered us water, made ud sit down at her table, told us bout her family... It was the best day we had in japan, something like that would have never happened in my country
Such a wholesome story! I’m heading to Japan in June with some Kimono I bought(I’ve been practicing but I worry about making some faux pas😂 hoping some old lady like that will come and let me know if I’ve done anything wrong)
I own a kimono and have worn it a few times, and to say the least, it feels so much better than a regular dress! I have a casual one, and it even fit on my 6 foot sister! (For reference, I’m 5”4) I enjoy how they can fit on everyone, all shapes and sizes :]
I would love to wear one, as I think traditional Japanese clothing is the most beautiful in the world. However, I would feel uncomfortable wearing it outside of Japan. I think Japanese people would be encouraging and kind if they saw you trying their clothing - but non-Japanese Americans would openly harass you for “cultural appropriation”. I wish we had clothes like this in our culture…I’m jealous
The kimono gives the impression of respect and prestige, as if you are in front of a judge or a judge... I think that most of the clothes that cover the body give the same impression.
if your a "pretty" guy could you choose to wear a female kimono instead of a male one? I just wanted to wear a female one cuz I look kinda adorable in it :3

I could also just wear whatever I want when I want. And anyone who's mad can kick rocks
The video is about how to wear them respectfully. Not just "how to wear a kimono"
Kimonos are so cool, I’d love to wear one!!
IDK why but the fabric pattern in the kimono you're wearing makes it look like you put it on right-over-left in the first shot lol
The front camera mirrors pictures
I'm gonna try it on this summer when I fly to Japan
Did you end up trying on a kimono?
The character I might wear for a cosplay has longer sleeves like the formal one but the character is more casual which I don't understand-
hello fellow danganronpa fan
