    Yay! You grew my favs - Zinnias. Guess I should try the queeny lime. Glad someone else loves flowers ALMOST as much as I do

      Hi Elon! I did! You should definitely try it…and yes, I’m a Zinnia fan now. For sure. Hahaha, I’m glad too. Weren’t you trying dahlias out? Did they grow for you? I thought there was some conversation about that, but I could be wrong…you know, dahlias are my queens 👸🏻

    • @elonreese1410

      You have a great memory. My dahlias didn’t grow, but, I still had a great garden. I love trying new things. I had great success with Purple Gomphrena Globosa Globe Amaranth, Mexican sunflower and of course, zinnias. I only direct sow. Can never seem to start seeds indoors and transplant

      @@elonreese1410 love that you had good success with other things this year too! Direct sowing is MUCH less work…you’re not wrong on doing that. Especially since zinnias and cosmos are direct sow - I’m sure it was stunning!

    I agree that Costa apricot snapdragon is very special and is a favorite of mine too. It blooms continually and into late October. I think that Madame Butterfly white adds that pop of white to the garden. I grow the Madame Butterfly mix as well as the Potomac mix and the Potomac lavender is gorgeous. I grew the Twilight mix snapdragons from Select Seeds this year. I am in southern Wisconsin and just cut a lot of the deep purple foliage for an arrangement last week (before the cold and snow). It is just a gorgeous color this time of year. I also cut some Jolt Dianthus and they are still blooming. Mine also overwintered. Winter sowing really works for me starting perennials such as delphinium, lupines, verbascum, echinacea and scabiosa fama. It also saves grow light space to winter sow cold hardy annuals such as phlox, strawflower, snapdragons, etc. I do grow most of my snapdragons inside but try to bring them outside April 1 and cover as needed until I can plant. That provides room under the grow lights for the warm season annuals. I direct sow larkspur, poppies and bachelor buttons. Self seeding annuals like orlaya come back every year. I've planted 1,360 tulips so far with more to go. Planting them in the landscape adds so much but takes more time. Happy gardening!

      Look at you go, Sue! I know the work that takes for that amount of tulips and you’re on a roll! Was so thankful I got in before our temps dropped and snow came this week…all that’s left are the raised beds ones and those are much easier to do! Winter sowing has been my nemesis 😂 I just have not had good luck with it. I may try soil blocking this year to help save space in the garden…we’ll see. It’s yet to be decided! Thanks for sharing, Sue!

    Delphinium are tough, the seeds do best if you throw them in the freezer before germinating. I got mine to work by putting the seeds in moist paper towel in a ziplock in a warm place, changing out the ppr towel every other day until they sprout. Then put in the soil just under the surface. 😊

      That's a smart idea, Alli! Reminds me a bit of Bells of Ireland that way...thank you for letting me know! I'd rather try that than winter sowing again this year!

    Just found your channel! You have a very fun personality. I wrote down all the varieties. I have the flamingo feather celosia that I'll be trying this year and I'm going to buy mahogany splendor hibiscus. This last season was my first time cutting flowers from my yard I've been growing and gardening for 20 years but I've never cut to make bouquets I fell in love it was so much fun

      Hi Jane! Thank you very much! Glad you found it helpful! You’ll love the flamingo feather celosia and mahogany splendor! The mahogany splendor tends to weep so boil the ends or use quick dip to help combat that. Glad you’ve joined the cut flower obsession! 😃

    • @TinysGarden

      YES! I tried Cosmos last year and loved them…especially double click snow puff! I have not used many grasses though…maybe that’ll be something I try this year! 😃

    Great editing. Enjoy seeing the closeups of the flowers YOU grew. Think you are going to need to purchase another growing shelf unit for all these seeds/seedlings. Just wondering - did you use all your seeds from last year? ❤❤❤

    • @TinysGarden
      @TinysGarden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sandra! Thanks so much for noticing that - it was much more time consuming, but I was going for exactly that effect! I'm glad you noticed! So funny about the shelving unit! LOL probably. I'm pondering working with soil blocks next year in which case I could still probably fit everything on the two I have, but we'll see! I used a lot of my seeds from last year...not all, but many.

      @@TinysGarden I did the small soil blocks last winter for my tiny seeds. There is a learning curve to making the soil and packing the block maker. Yes you can start more seeds but I needed more room to bump them up while still under lights.

    • @TinysGarden
      @TinysGarden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sandrakay8540 I was wondering if I’d need to bump them up for cold hardy annuals or not - I think I’ve heard you can go both ways. It’ll be interesting if I decide to try it!

    I see that you got the Rosanne 3 brown lisianthus. Definitely going to start my lisianthus early this year like DECEMBER 🙂🙂🙃😁 The white lisianthus are definitely very small but beautiful. Snaps & zinnias are a must in the garden IMHO. No cosmos? or did I miss that vid? Looks like a busy winter for you Steph with all these seeds. Enjoy!

      I’m giving it a try! Sooo next month seed starting starts for you! 😂 I get it though - I get it! The voyage 2 white is pretty big, but yes, the doubilini white is smaller for sure - both pretty! Completely agree about snaps and zinnias. Cosmos were in the recent Floret seed haul video! Definitely including them in the garden next year again. Indeed, a busy winter is upon me! Thank you, Cristine! 😃

    I’m in zone 5b also and I have never been able to successfully winter sow anything and none of my bulbs I’ve tried to plant in crates have ever been successful either. Only the bulbs I put in the ground 🤷🏼‍♀️

      Winter sowing is my nemesis…I know some people swear by it, but it just doesn’t work for me either! I’m a ground tulip girl too. Don’t beat yourself up about it by any means!

      My goodness, that puppy was on another level during this video! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 I even cut out several of his shenanigans, but I had to keep him running into the sliding glass door. The thud was for real and he did it again today, poor fellow. What can I say? A puppy and seeds, what more do you need!? 🥰🐶🌱
