The cardboard box from Botanical interests is intentionally meant to be composed back into the garden when ordering from them. Kevin from Epic gardening has said something like this is the past after him buying the company Botanical interests! 😊👍 Not a waste when it comes to comparison to a yellow packet with bubble wrap.
Nice haul…Pls do not disrespect the cardboard box fr BI. Thou shalt not dishonor my seed storage game😂. I store my seeds in those boxes: I’ve got separate boxes for different types: flowers (by season) and veggies. That said, I am over the free mesclun mix of lettuce
I love seeds n such. Great varieties. They have an "early bird" special around this time. Order your seeds early & you get free seed. I got unicorn cherry tomato one year & it was so good!
I love watching seed hauls! Your flower choices are so beautiful and interesting. I just ordered from Baker's Creek, and I'm very excited for it to come.
I am in Canada. For my 2025 garden, the seeds are from West Coast Seeds and Incredible Seeds Co. from up here, and Baker Creek (I love the beautiful seed packets!) and Johnny's from the US. It's my first time ordering from both Incredible and Johnny's.
I’m so excited!! There was one variety I grew last year that was so fragrant I think it was the classic wave petunia in pink. Every time I walked down my walkway it smelled so sweet! I’m really excited to try ones that are supposed to be scented this year.
Here's a few of my favorite seed companies: Baker creek seeds, Southern seeds (a new one for me!), Swallowtail Seeds, Diane's seeds, Hoss seeds, GEO seeds (their catalog is amazing. No photos, but their selection is unbelievable!), plant world seeds (another source for hard to find seeds, next to Geo), Select seeds, Roher seeds and Renee's seeds. I love growing plants from seeds!
I've grown striped romans in the past. They are gorgeous, meaty and really good, even really good for fresh eating. The issue I have with them is that they and speckled romans seem to be very calcium sensitive in that they get blossom end rot noticeably more than others I have grown. Just be ready and fortify the soil. But like I said, they are gorgeous and taste really, really good!
Check out cardinal basil. It was huge with beautiful red blooms and lasted until temps got below zero. I'm growing it next year and putting it everywhere for that fall color. I believe I got mine from Baker Creek.
I guess I understand that, but I truly feel like everyone can find a cardboard box and I wish there was an option to not have that and save on shipping instead.
@ And that’s one of the cardboard boxes people can find to use, already decorated for it and all that. :) They offer free shipping at certain levels and often with coupon codes, I doubt we’d get more of that without the box, other seed companies do exactly the same whether shipping in boxes or envelopes. Maybe it’s that I’ve gotten seeds in all kinds of packaging from different companies, that what surprised me most was your reaction. I get it if people who know they don’t need it/won’t use it and think it wasteful wish they could opt out, that’s a point well taken, but otherwise don’t get what the big deal is, sorry. I share seeds at work and with friends, collect and pack my own or remainders I know I won’t use, and that’s one use I’ve given those boxes. There’s one that’s been the seed sharing box at work for years and needs replacing-thanks for the reminder!
@ my shipping was $6. That’s a little ridiculous tbh for seed packets and the only reason it’s that expensive is the box. A lot of seed companies have cheaper prices and offer free shipping no minimum. Additionally I’ve ordered from a ton of seed companies too and only one other that I’ve used ships in boxes and has high shipping just like this ( Johnny's but they are also geared toward production growers and have more seeds in their packets so it makes sense). There's another company I order from that has high shipping and no box (swallowtail) but I think that's because they are more specialty seeds, that's how I justify it lol. If the box was eliminated they could offer free shipping all the time probably or at least at lower levels, a lot of companies do this and I don't think my reaction was wrong to point out an opportunity to save costs that can be passed on to the customer. Sorry if it came off too harsh.
I just found your channel and I am loving it. I love Botanical Interests and their boxes. It’s my number one pick and the boxes make for good storage or to separate my seeds that I’m planning to sure for the season while still keeping them safely stored until use. The selection is great and I love the variation and all of the details on their packaging. I’ve had great success with germination from them too. Bakers creek is my next go to I love the selection buuuut my germination was so spotty this past order for my fall garden . Maybe it was user error but idk. My other fave is Hoss. I love everything I’ve gotten from them and I have had nothing but success and I can honestly say 100% germination. Thank you for the video!!happy growing
I am missing my salvia from my order on MiGardener , you would not believe how hard it is to get my packet. They did send a free packet of seeds . Yes MiGardener sometimes sends nothing free. I love your picks of seeds ! I’m going to write down some of your seeds. Great video
@ oh man, I have no idea what they do! They’ve also lost 50lb bags of chicken feed, and once they POPPED bags of tropical fish and killed them despite the box being clearly labeled as “live animals”.
I post a lot of seed hauls on my channel. Love Baker Creek and I also buy seeds in bulk. ❤ There's always something different and I love that! Your room of plants looks awesome!

I mostly order from my local seed company, Southern Exposure Seed Exchange. They do their own trials and are located 10 min from me! They're a bit slower with the shipping but that's ok with me. Also highly recommend Renee's Garden -- very useful info on the packets (similar to BE).
I looovvveee wave petunias. I'm a pretty big fan of PW, but for petunias, I grow my own and their performance is crazy. I shop at all of your places. I also really love swallowtail, pinetree and urban farmer.
Swallowtail is actually the shop I still have cart to check out! I ordered a ton from Pinetree last year too never heard of Urban Farmer but now I gotta check them out!
The things that used to really bother me about Seeds n Such orders were that you don't have a picture of the plant AND at least historically, they haven't put date of seed on their packages. If you are like me and tend to hold remnant seed or unopened packs from season to season, go ahead and write the date of your seeds on your seed envelope.
Yes! A cardboard box 📦 is ridiculous. I’m lucky I live less than 30 minutes from seedsavers exchange, so I shop them, I shop Renee’s seeds locally at the grocery store (40% off there). Finally Baker Creek seeds. Thank you for sharing.
Right?! Ooo I purchased Renee’s from a local garden center too and loved their seed packets! I’ve never tried seedsavers exchange I’ll have to check them out!
The cheapest seeds I have found are from Geo Seed. You should go to their website and request a catalog. The catalog has no pictures, It’s all serious information as is their seed packets. Mainly flowers but some veggies.

Yes I remember him speaking about this too
I love the box! I store seeds in it and it is a marketing tool in my opinion because it is printed with their beautiful logo.

I kind of agree. Everyone gives free lettuce seeds. Change it up! lol I guess lettuce seeds are really cheap
All of you gardeners on TH-cam are enablers for my seed addiction! 😂❤
😂💚 It's true. Other garden youtubers get me too lol
Butternut squash soup is soooo good
I love seeds n such. Great varieties. They have an "early bird" special around this time. Order your seeds early & you get free seed. I got unicorn cherry tomato one year & it was so good!

I love seedsnsuch
I love the scented petunias. Some years, if I do it right, I can smell my yard when I'm several houses away from it.
I’m so excited!! There was one variety I grew last year that was so fragrant I think it was the classic wave petunia in pink. Every time I walked down my walkway it smelled so sweet! I’m really excited to try ones that are supposed to be scented this year.
Lemon and Lime Basil also make great teas.
I haven’t ordered seeds but this was so helpful as I was loading my carts from botanical interests and bakers creek. So thank you!!
Botanical Interest sets themselves apart with the useful info in the packets.
Their seed packets are truly one of the best! I LOVE the picture of the seedling on the back. Super helpful in spotting volunteers in the garden :)

I have the same issue with all the roma varieties. Regardless of what I do

Thank you for the recommendation! I'll have to check it out! 💚
Nigella love in a mist is gorgeous & seeds freely. You'll have volunteers all over
I think the idea is you can use the box to store theirs and other seed packets.
I guess I understand that, but I truly feel like everyone can find a cardboard box and I wish there was an option to not have that and save on shipping instead.

Thank you for watching and the recommendations! I've never tried Hoss, I'll have to check them out 💚
Butternut is also great for pumpkin pie is naturally sweeter

I would like 2 c your garden in the spring. 🌼 🌸 🌻 🌹 🏵 🌼
We've gotten some great seeds from seeds-n-such. I just finished an order with them 2 seconds ago. Literally.
Seed hauls are fun! FYI blue flax and Mexican hat are natives
i just found your channel, and i love it. just wanted to say, cause its important :D definitely subscribed :)
Thank you so much! 💚
If you liked the red salvia, you would like the white salvia from Baker Creek it is an annual and the two together is just beautiful.
I like the box because I’ve had envelopes come looking like they were mauled by rabid chihuahuas
LOL! Wow your mail people are vicious! I get seeds in card board mailers literally all the time and have never had them come damaged.
@ oh man, I have no idea what they do! They’ve also lost 50lb bags of chicken feed, and once they POPPED bags of tropical fish and killed them despite the box being clearly labeled as “live animals”.
@ 😩 that’s terrible. Especially the poor fish!!!! 😤
@ all respect and support to mail carriers except whoever that one was, specifically!
You can keep all your seeds neatly organized.
Yes i keep the seeds organized.
I bought some seeds from dollar store that I never used
I don’t have the patience 😂
You are inspiring me😂😂
I went to Baker Creek for their fall festival this month and came back with a bunch of seeds for next year. I have a seed problem!
I post a lot of seed hauls on my channel. Love Baker Creek and I also buy seeds in bulk. ❤ There's always something different and I love that! Your room of plants looks awesome!
i am running a herb market and little simple bouquets for fairly cheap to get rid of some old flower seeds then im getting salvia

I didn't even notice that they didn't have a date! Thank you for that tip!
Johnny's seeds
My sister grows broom corn and crafts brooms for Halloween decorations. The stalks are very sturdy. They are great for making a trellis.
Ooooo that sounds neat!
