How wonderful to hear that seller talk about the foreigners’ love for the original materials. I’m Swiss and we have a 300 years old vacation house in the Italian part of Switzerland. My parents bought it 40 years ago and invested a lot of love, sweat and tears in getting it from a ruin back to its former glory, using old materials, like flooring and paint colours. Often foreigners are depicted as lacking culture.
Wow I would love to do this. In my early 20s I brought a miner cottage and was happy single girl who wanted to do it up on her own. I met my builder hubby now married who helped me so much that it ended up being ours. And I really lost that chance to challenge myself without help. Now in my 30s with three young kids I have a secret plan to start a project like this in a few years when the kids dont need me as they require being so young. Thanks for inspiring that spark. Beauitful x
I need to say that I love the way you film your videos, the music, the vibes.. everything! You make me want to reach my goal and dream even more! I am planning on moving to Italy next year and I can not wait. You are such an inspiration🥰
Kylie, what you are doing is fantastic. People today are so lost without heart or soul focused living. And when you do artwork, and when you put your heart into your work as you are showing us, you help us all bring our heart and soul back into our lives. Bravo! I encourage you to keep doing this, we need it so much.
Hi from Canada. Another wonderful film. As I watch more of your films, I find myself taking in the story & experience, and forgetting that you are also producer, director, writer, editor, cameraman, narrator, artist, craftsman, and renovator! Wonderful work.
Been watching your videos (historical and new) for a few months now, Kylie, without comment and I thoroughly enjoyed the deep soul behind this one. Loved the conversation about culture and the visibility/feel of passion that simply oozed from it. All the best in your new home.
Ohhhh😍 Beautiful work Kylie! I got ancient radios too my father used to collect them. Adore you give new Life to Ancient furniture ! Everyone should do that even with a little piece.....🤩Love and Blessings from Italy! ❣
Both of the videos were so great as always Kylie! I can feel your passion and intimacy directly from your videos . You put a lot of efforts to your work but the result is amazingg well done ! ♥️ .you inspired me so much . Loves from Turkey !♥️🇹🇷

Kylie, if anyone ever asks you why you love Italy, just direct them to this video. It reveals a lot about why you love the country and the culture. You appreciate authentic beauty over modern, artificial, and manufactured aesthetics. Real beauty does not need to be expensive, but it does require a lot of work (by hand). You are decorating your kitchen like we used to decorate churches. The modern churches in America are ugly by comparison. Your new cucina is looking great. The white is a big improvement and the hand-painted decor is beautiful too. I look forward to seeing the new stove. Your love of authentic beauty is inspiring. You decorate your kitchen just like you make videos. A tremendous attention to detail that most people are unwilling to do because they don't want to do the work. The finished product, however, is bellissima. :-)
I completely agree. Her appreciation for beauty is so inspiring. I grew up in a household that only appreciated new furniture, newly built homes and I was discouraged from collecting "junk". Old homes have such beautiful characteristics, which you can no longer find in newly built homes. Thank you kylie, always ❤
@@gladyrose21 Thank you, Glady Rose. Aside from all of the beauty that Kylie is bringing to this Tuscan home, there is also some relationship humor just below the surface. The old kitchen was perfectly fine for a bachelor who probably didn't do a lot of cooking. Women help men in a variety of ways, including helping us to convert a kitchen from something a college student might furnish and sparingly use to something with real appliances for a talented chef. Also, the brief video at the beginning of Kylie in the window mixing something in a large bowl serves no purpose other than to get you to smile. It's why she is so talented. You see those kinds of scenes in movies, but never in TH-cam videos.

I love how I watched your Italy videos before I moved here in October 2018 & now I'm sitting in my own little cucina in Rome, watching your new videos & not even having to look at the subtitles... ♥️
This video is amazing. I loved your inspo about the kitchen, the work on the tiles... the fact that you put italian subtitles shows me how you care about italian viewers that may not speak english and i think that's really nice. Also, you are so pretty!!
My goodness! The love she has poured into this project...hand painting the stencil on the border of the tiles. That’s painstaking effort! Fantastic project.

I literally shed a tear watching this. My family is from Italy and many of them still live there. The way Italians talk about objects and history is like no one else. Italy has a lot of issues but every time I go back, I fall deeper in love. How can you not???

Bellissima!! What a fantastic interview - so interesting to meet someone with such a poetic understanding of materiality - if only more design clients had the same understanding 😅 can't wait for Part 2! Grazie! 🌻
Dear Kylie, This world is blessed to have a human being like you. I can see the beauty of this entire dimension we live in through your videos. You inspire me everyday to wake up and work for the life I dream of. I thank you for sharing this blissfull art with us. I wish you all the happiness and love :)
Hello, I'm an American. My husband loves Italy. I wanted to understand his love so I started studying the language and the culture. Your videos are so lovely and inspiring.
This whole video speaks to my soul in a way that I cannot possibly put into words. I had the great honor of traveling throughout Italy twice for six weeks each trip. Every ounce of me wishes to go back, but the current pandemic makes that impossible for now. Watching these videos both fills with joy and also brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for making such art and sharing a soul that reminds me of my own.
Wonderful Kylie, so enjoyable. Just discovered your channel & I adore it. I am an Italian immigrant from Abruzzo, from a small village called Capestrano. I am now 62 years old and interestingly my love for Italy has only grown, even though I came to Melbourne in 1962 with my mother to meet my father here, and not remembering Italy at all ( of course having been back many times, since) my connection is very great. I am looking forward to this Covid nightmare to end so that we can all visit again. I think what your interview showed to is that Italians sometimes haven’t always appreciated what they have, I suppose that happens when you are surrounded with such beauty & history. I could go on for ages but suffice to say keep it up your doing a beautiful job, best of luck and keep safe. Auguri e buona fortuna, ciao Nella Watson
As the tears start once again to roll down my cheeks and the lump in my throat starts to swell, I think to myself "she's done it again"! Beautifully captured on film, it's not just a kitchen makeover its life right there. I can't wait for part 2. Enjoy your first cook in your kitchen Kylie. Keep well kind Regards Karen x
I wanted this video to go on forever ! I love how you see things, how you align your life and surround yourself with beauty and happiness. People never seem to understand why I always thrift homegoods, clothes, fridge, radio, armchairs, books, mirrors, even suitcases; they are constantly telling me that new objects "are better". But as you say, antiques or thrifted objects have a story, have a soul, and they also encourage upcycling and reusing vs consuming and producing. And that is where I want my money to go, encouraging small businesses and thriftshops. So thank you for making me feel that this uniqueness is shared and appreciated by you and also your lovely community! Lots of love!!
Hi Kylie, all that you do and say about Italy is why this immigrant daughter decided to move back to Italy 35 years ago when many of my friends and family in Canada thought I was crazy. I love ❤️ how you get excited about living here, I am the same and often times Italians just don't get it, they can't believe how I left Canada (known for it beautiful sceneries, and great standard of living) for the Italian way of life, 's ok though, I'm so happy here, more than I ever was there, living in Italy has given me so much. I always say Italy is like a diamond, everywhere you look at it it shines, wether with its perfections or its flaws. Can't wait for part 2 xx 😘 Olympia
Glad I just stumbled upon your channel. I’m in the process of moving and have been watching some decorating channels and yours just popped up in my recommendations. I’m moving from a 4 year old cookie cutter home in a typical American suburban neighborhood to a home almost 70 years old in the historical section of town. The home I’m moving from has a man made pond in the backyard which they used soil they dug for the foundation of the houses here. This caused phosphorus levels to become too high, killing off beneficial bacteria so you can’t grow gardens here or fungus and viruses will overrun them. The place I’m moving to has mature trees in an established landscape next to a real river. I’m going to plant a little garden and decorate the old house. Your remodeling ventures are by far the best I’ve seen. My house is spanish inspired with front arches and a built in trellis I will grow a bougainvillea on, which makes your style and remodeling endeavors a perfect inspiration for how I’m remodeling. What I’ve just learned from you is take my time and don’t rush in and... research research research! Thank you for recording your journey for us. You’re very inspiring and so intelligent beyond your years. 💕
Kylie, I love your work and your passion about Italy. A passion I share. I bought a home in Abruzzo and I feel so at peace when I’m there. Because of COVID, I haven’t been able to get back there for almost a year. You inspire this old man in many ways. I would love to meet you when I’m back “at home” in Italy. Keep doing the videos so at least I’ll feel like I’m there! Ciao.
Kylie, I can’t even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this video! Thank you for sharing that incredible reclamation centre, so, so beautiful! The kitchen IS the heart of the home and you are creating a beautiful one.
Ooooh -- thank you! Can't wait for part two. You put so eloquently how so many of us feel about the spirit or souls of objects. Do we have long to wait? No pressure, obviously! xxx
I love your work as I am madly in love with Italy where we lived and loved for 5 yrs but our hearts are in Sicily where we weno visit friends and ended up staying for around 2 years
Your videos inspire me on so many different levels. To travel back to Italy as soon as possible, to look for the beauty in things that surround me, to appreciate a more simple life. With everything going on in the US, I am even more determined to find my place of simple joy be it here or abroad. Life is too short (especially at my age 👵🏼) to not surround yourself with people and things that bring you joy. Thank you again for being such an inspiration ❤️
Kylie I have watched many of your programmes and this to me is the best one. It has a story and the section in the reclamation place has so much emotion a vital ingredient of any film. Please make more like this.
Kylie, your kitchen reno is just lovely and made my day. I love how you paid so much attention to detail. it's wonderful that you could access genuine Tuscan products. Some tips for future stencilling projects that may assist is to: 1. Buy more than one of the same stencil depending on the size of the job. 2. Use an adhesive stencil spray to prevent bleed through or smudging. The appropriate stencil spray will allow you to remove the stencil and place it in a different spot several times before you must respray. You don't need tape to hold it in place either and it creates nice sharp crisp outlines. make sure to spray the stencil with the adhesive on a piece of cardboard away from the surface being stencilled. I would advise researching relevant stencil spray adhesive products available in Italy that are also suited for the surface being stencilled. 3. Instead of a finger which worked wonderfully but is more time consuming, you could choose to use a craft/artist stencil brush (these are brushes designed specifically for stencilling, they look a bit like kabuki makeup brushes) or small sponge, which you load evenly with paint, then pounce a few times onto paper to remove excess before you apply to the stencil - by pouncing lightly. You will still have control of shading as you did with your fingers and also use another stencil brush/sponge to apply the second shade. 4. Another way to contrast the two shades as you did manually is to stencil in one shade, allow to dry, remove the stencil and reposition it so it is still over the design you just painted but slightly out of sync with it. With such a delicate design, your stencil would only be a few millimetres shifted above or below the painted design, then strategically apply the the second shade. This is a quicker method which still allows control over shading. Of course, experiment and practice first before attempting your masterpiece.
Your dedication and perseverance are so inspiring! I simply don't have the patience to stick to things like you do, I have this fear that I'll mess things up and just waste time and resources. Have you always been this way? Is it something that you've worked on? I get bored far too easily!
Amy McCready Hey Amy, thank you! Yes, I’m a bit of a detail geek. I tend to like things that are really detail-oriented where the risk of time is high but the triumph and satisfaction is also high. Sometimes this can leave me feeling hopeless and burnt out but 90% of the time it gives me a beautiful feeling of gratification and achievement. 💫✨
Kylie, I am super impressed that you sanded the surface of the cabinets before priming. Much woodwork has been ruined by not sanding first. (New paint adheres to etched gloss paint, not so much to gloss paint that has not been sanded first). Is there nothing this woman can’t do well?
Wow this was one of your best videos in my opinion. I love all your landscape shots and all the other imagery that you always show in your videos, but this video spoke to me so much even through the content. I loved that in the part when you painted the kitchen, you left the background noise - something that you where listening to. It maid it so much more authentic. Also the man who spoke at the end. It was very real and heartwarming and I could feel the passion that he has for what he does. Thank you for making your videos. Keep going, they're beautiful.
I’m excited for your kitchen reveal. I just adore the conversation with the antiques dealer. Although in the USA, this is how I live! The richness that comes with history, natural materials and handmade products can’t be matched.
Your speaking with the stone and antique shop owner provided a real insight in the differences of consciousness around man-made objects old vs. new. It brought a tear to my eye as I agree with the both of you of how objects can provide us with peace and comfort and undeniably have a soul. Thanks Kylie, I'm looking forward to next week's edition! I totally know that your cucina will have a beauty and soul as beautiful as yours.
I love all your videos but this has touched the soul of why I love Italy and its history. How deep was the comment from passionate Danielle regarding when you touch some of the material and think that the discovery of American hadn't even happened. By the way your kitchen is makeover is looking so homely already. I love the personal paint touches. Can't wait to see the finished product.
What a lovely soul you are, thank you for sharing so much passion and joy Kylie! and thank you for loving my country so much, it is truly heartwarming and moving...Grazie bellissima anima per come trasmetti e condividi gioia e passione, mi fai ri-innamorare ancor di più del mio paese, e mi emoziona vedere l’Italia attraverso i tuoi occhi... tanta felicità!! 🌷
The way you apply yourself in every aspect of this renovation is remarkable. Watching you work with your whole heart in this project was beautiful. You must feel an immense sense of accomplishment. Well done once again, Kylie. I can't wait for part 2.

This world is blessed to have a human being like you.
I don’t skip the ads Kylie. Your work is so beautiful and evocative. Thank you
This whole video speaks to my soul in a way that I cannot possibly put into words.
Love the tile ,so beautiful.
My mother in law would have killed to have access to that Italian second hand yard. So many gorgeous pieces!
MsKaza64 Ohhh Karen, thank you so much!! 🥰🥰🥰
I can't wait to see part two!!
Ciao amici! Love these videos - what a beautiful place!
Wait what? There’s several parts? I can’t possible wait. I can’t handle this cliffhanger! You know how to get us excited Kylie!
This was the most decadent and poetic video. Thank you ! Can't wait for the grand finale! Love, from Canada xx
Che bella intervista con il venditore delle cose antiche. Che anima! Grazie di nuovo, Kylie.
Ciao.
You are so full of passion, love and life. Never change always appreciate the small things, it keeps you grateful and young.💐
I love that you were listening to Julie Andrews speak while you worked! This is a gorgeous video and so inspiring!!
No pressure, obviously! xxx
mbeplate Editing as fast as I can! Hopefully in a couple of days! 👩🏼💻
@@KylieFlavell No pressure obviously-- just excited and looking for inspo!
Thank you again for being such an inspiration ❤️
ahhh Eckhart Tolle ~ love, love, I'm new to your channel, I really enjoyed watching your project, and the rest of your videos too. Thank you !
Do you work Kylie aside from the amazing videos you share with us all? You really reveal the simplicity, history and beauty of Italy!
Some tips for future stencilling projects that may assist is to:
Of course, experiment and practice first before attempting your masterpiece.
lovely place to live!
And you are by the way really talented!!
@@KylieFlavell I love that 🥰 wish I could be as committed to tasks as you!
Every body that enjoys this gorgeous video should LIKE it and also it is great for Kylie if you WATCH THE ADS ,whilst reading comments say! :)
wow beautiful lady and gorgeous kitchen good work
Kylie, I am super impressed that you sanded the surface of the cabinets before priming.
I totally know that your cucina will have a beauty and soul as beautiful as yours.
i love everything about this video
I love all your videos but this has touched the soul of why I love Italy and its history. How deep was the comment from passionate Danielle regarding when you touch some of the material and think that the discovery of American hadn't even happened. By the way your kitchen is makeover is looking so homely already. I love the personal paint touches. Can't wait to see the finished product.
YES LOVE IT, your videos are getting me through this second lockdown!!
Beautiful results
