Hey, great video! I just wanted to add that as far as CARICOM is concerned, all CARICOM nationals are entitled to an automatic six month stay in other CARICOM countries. As far as working, you need what is called the CSME skills certificate. However (and this is pretty exciting) as of 3/31/2024 CARICOM nations (Grenada, Jamaica, St Lucia, St Kitts & Nevis, Guyana, Suriname, Belize, Barbados, Trinidad, etc.) will be transitioning to the free movement of people, going beyond the current six month regime. You will be able to live and work in those other nations long term without needing a visa or skills certificate. I don’t think everything will just be opened up on March 31, but there will be a period of transition to allow this new regime to take place. Anyways, all the best!

What if you already as the passport but it expired
Hey Tiffany did you delete your old TH-cam travel and pan afrikan channel? Will you travel back to Afrika again? And will you post videos on for the ancestors channel?
Hello! I’m now a food blogger and have been focusing on short form content for the past year and a half and built a healthy platform on my website and Instagram @italeatsandtreats and now I am prioritizing bringing that same healing content to other platforms like TH-cam, TikTok, and Pinterest ☺️
@@italeatsandtreats oh cool 👌🏽 you learning languages just curious?
@@Malkiyahamanimwangazaactually, yeah! Just spent 2 months in Colombia and Guatemala and got intermediate in Spanish, will start learning Portuguese next
@@italeatsandtreats Awesome 🙌🏽 are you planning on learning more other languages or that’s it?
@@Malkiyahamanimwangazayes I am prioritizing languages that are spoken in the African diaspora in the Americas so I can travel to places like Colombia, Brazil, Haiti, Martinique etc who speak French Spanish and Portuguese and communicate with the Afro locals. I may also open myself to to German and finishing up my studies on Kiswahili
My question is figure out how to actually travel to and from Jamaica from the US with dual citizenship. I have read different things and am confused.
What do you mean? Flying to Jamaica you’ll use your Jamaican passport and flying back to the USA you’ll use your USA passport
@@italeatsandtreats so the Jamaican passport is used at the airport in the US when leaving?
@@BkAphroditeyes
@@italeatsandtreats thanks for this info. Appreciate you doing this and sharing
@@BkAphroditeno, use the Passport to enter the specific country that you're entering.
DO NOT USE JA PASSPORT TO ENTER USA OR USA PASSPORT TO ENTER JAMAICA. It will register limits on your stay.
Hi do i go to the Jamaican embassy in Washington Dc to apply
Also, can a person who received their Jamaican passport travel to a Cairicom location from the USA using that passport or do they have to travel to Jamaica first, then catch a flight from Jamaica to that Cairicom location?
I think you should be able to just fly from the USA to any CARICOM country.
Both my parents are Jamaican but my mom never married my dad, here maiden name is on my birth certificate, could that work?
Hey! If both your parents are Jamaican you can use either or but is her maiden name on her birth certificate as well or just yours?
@ her maiden name is on my birth certificate
If your parents were born before JA's independence are you able to get UK citizenship too?
That’s actually a good question, I’m not too sure though you would have to ask someone at pica or the embassy
Yes
but my ID can be A COPY RIGHT??? thanks for the info btw!
Hi! No you will need the actual id which can be a passport of whichever nationality you have (:
@@italeatsandtreats thank you also will they send it back?
yes they will give all original copies back@@sydneywilson1983
@@italeatsandtreats okay great that’s what I was worried about thank you so much you’re amazing
Eventhough you are speaking English, I can still hear the strong Jamaican accent, it's so strange seeing that you were born in America, strange but interesting😂
lol my parents and I speak patwa at home and I visit Jamaica a lot! It’s kinda like when I hear a slight accent from someone who’s parents are from Mexico but they were born and raised in the USA but they speak Spanish at home with their family, that’s like me but with patwa!
Why would you need your parent’s passport to prove they are a Jamaican citizen if you have their birth certificate showing they were born in Jamaica?
What if they don’t live in Jamaica anymore and don’t have any passport?
What if they have already died?
Even if a passport was available, it would not be safe to mail their passport to Jamaica with the application.
You should ask these questions to pica, I don’t make the rules 😂
@@italeatsandtreats It looks like the requirement for the parent’s passport is just for minors. Adults applying for citizenship by descent don’t need their parent’s passport.
The Jamaican embassy site says:
• Valid driver’s license or passport of mother or father (minors only)
• A valid government issued ID (valid driver’s license or passport - adults only)
I can not send my send my driver's license because I have to drive and no one answers.

There is away someone , who makes things difficult! That's Jamaica's red tape.
If we come out whike the Jamaicans would lo e us. The self hate is real...
If I cannot get a birth certificate for my Jamaican relative can I use death records??? My grandfather has passed away.
Yes you can use a death certificate, many of my followers have said they’ve done that as well!
I have death information from Ancestry records but not a certificate. What do you recommend? 😊
No, you cannot. You'll need to apply for their birth certificate. Death cert means nothing.
Just take all documents to a jamaican consulate, they'll photocopy everything.
@@shashbabydesta9379I went to get the original forms (birth & death) printed at The Department of Health & Mental Hygiene. $15 for each printed document +$2.75 processing fee, $3 for each document to be authenticated at county clerk, $10 for each document for Issuance of Apostille of Certificate and Authentication. (NYC) Check with your state if different.
@@italeatsandtreatsI’ve just learned if your parent are born before 1962 they can also apply for a British passport. Due to Jamaican Independence in 1962
They were under British Rule. So that will be the qualification for anyone born before independence.
