Afcons is well behind SNC. They seem to have run out of U-Girders. They have not placed more than 5 in the last 3-4 months. Some places work is stuck for months with no progress.

Construction is going on better than earlier phases. we have some complexities due to split portal piers along ORR requiring multi stage cast and use of LG instead of cranes and so on. but we are getting past them. as you can see in most places the barricades are removed and road put back to service. Station works will now pick up pace.

Govt is planning to extend blr metro to tumkur.I feel till dabspet blr metro can be there from there rrts system can be built like how delhi to meerut is there it will save on cost.
Station construction should be fastracked.... At some places..barricades have been removed which has eased traffic. Work near silk board should be completed on war footing basis as it is very critical junction and people cant afford delays in traffic there.
At 17:21 we can see a gap in the concrete beam, how is it fixed later ? I see that the left portion of this beam is lowered from above it's kept hanging.
This is how pre-cast elements are assembled. They will be wire stranded end to end and grouted for optimal strength. The interface between the 2 elements will be epoxy glued.
Hi , This is fine, the viaduct wont come to the median of the station, in fact LHS U girder sits directly above the LHS pier. Since they would join both stations, there will be space for the LHS platform. The RHS platform will be a little bigger since the RHS U girder will almost get over by Median. One of the Platform beam is being readied for casting and in 10 days you wll know when the pedestal rebars are visible.
Why is Afcons going so slow in the past few months? U girders can be placed with mobile cranes in so many locations still they are not doing that. Also the pier caps near Bellandur are ready and also girders still they are not placing U girders. The road below Bellandur split flyover is ready also girders have been placed still these fellows are using that space to park their trucks. Why can't they park it at Devarabisanahalli or Agara split flyovers?For Kanpur Metro, they laid 400 u girders in just few months, what's the problem here?
Because they invested much in Launching girders and then some delay happened on few pier cap design and LG serializes . They are doing in between using Cranes where the LG wont reach.. like HSR - SB . It is ultimately their cost control too.
Super structure works ( U girders ) are in advanced stages. Station works have begun at atleast multiple stations in each package and will pick up pace. What remains is the special structures ( like OWG ). May be realistically 10+ months.
Roads on ORR where white topping is done from Hebbal to KRP is rather maintained well and painting done too. From KRP to SB if you remember were done prior to metro work and then subsequently roads were relaid multiple times. Now in a fortnight all these road works will be taken up as informed by ORRCA / BBMP since most places barricading is removed. Psot that we should see lane markings back.

Metro construction work is too slow! We need a professional full time technocrat to lead BMRCL instead of a part time IAS officer who works in BMRCL for few months and gets transferred. Also most of BMRCL employees are retired public sector employees. This needs to change!
Kr puram to hebbal is done and posted yesterday. Airport to.hebbal will most probably over the weekend. Almost every month you can find videos for 2a and 2b in 3 stretches
Silkboard could have been planned much more in better way. C loop could have been connected directly to electronic flyover and in similarly people coming from bellanur could have joined to C loop so that they could have connected to electonic city flyover.In future exit for C loop will become jammed with vehicles. As it would be junction for exiting and entering electronic city flyover.. again screwed planning done to fix one issue and didn't care about other issues.
C loop branches off from A+B and is down ramp for HSR side .. A loop goes all the way towards Electronic city. People coming from Bellandur will use D loop to join double decker or get down in front of BTM bus stop. See the point is these loops will take a lot of traffic away so the junction will see some reduced traffic like traffic coming from Madiwala side and turning left towards HSR , Right towards BTM. Or coming from ecity and turning left towards BTM or right towards ORR. SB is a constrained area not because of roads but because of the huge Storm water drains, BMRCL thankfully has redone some of these. But then they cannot be eliminated. So IMHO they have done the best possible. Imagine this loops and branches alone is a 250crore project. When was the last time BBMP spent such money.
@@SunilHP I agree with your points to some extent. The current loop solves the traffic problem for silk board signal, Not for others. Currently there is a lot of traffic near to Roopena agrahara bus stop and it happens due to people travelling from madivala to ecity and bellandur to ecity merge near Roopena agrahara bus stop. Now the C loop will also merge at the same point. On top of it we have Bmtc buses which stop at the merging poin and In night time private buses takes the spot.. it would be night mare in future. A similar kind of situation is in kr puram. Where the tin factory bus stop is at the junction point. Due to which heavy traffic happens. We have seen how bad that situation is and the same situation would happen in Roopena agrahara bus stop as silk board flyover, ecity flyover and c loop merge at one place.
There is no problem , crane cannot be used there due to placement issues. Now they will do by the LG Which will come after finishing devarabeesanahalli split flyover n then kadubeesanahalli station on its way to kadubeesanahalli split underpass

The Sarjapur/Ibbalur intersection there has been no progress for 5 or 6 months.

Sarjapur / Ibbalur section will be done using LG , so awaiting. Track laying will be started once L&T has at least a continous 4 KM stretch.

Sir, if you see pier cap at 1:22 near KR Puram station the metro rail tracks are not aligned to blue line stations median. Will that be a problem ?

K r puram- marthahalli -bellandoor is the worst road to ride/drive in my life time. I reject to visit any clients on that stretch.
With the metro - substructure work coming to a close along this, road is restored and except for the flyovers road is much better. try sometime.
